There is widely held perception in Pakistan and not without substance, that the US is playing a double game and in league with its real allies is fomenting terrorism in Pakistan to make it ungovernable and to justify its intervention to take over nuclear arsenal. India and Israel, its two strategic partners, which are more worried about Pakistan nukes, are fully wedded to this objective of common interest.
This perception has made the people of Pakistan mistrustful of US intentions, so much so that each and every act of US leaders even if well-intentioned is seen with great amount of skepticism. Anti-Muslim stance adopted by USA after 9/11 has further added to their anti-Americanism. They say that FATA, NWFP, and Balochistan were peaceful before 9/11 but after the arrival of American/Nato troops in Afghanistan, these regions have become turbulent.
