Scotland Yard has urged members of the public to get in touch if they know anything about the fatal attack on Dr Imran Farooq in north London on Thursday evening.
The Pakistani politician, who was a senior member of the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) party, died on his way home from work as a result of multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.
The police want witnesses to come forward with details of Dr Imran Farooq’s death. (PA)
He was found outside his house in Green Lane, Edgware, shortly after 17:00 BST.
News of the murder spread quickly to Karachi, home of Farooq’s family, where people took to the streets and torched cars upon hearing the news.
And police have now called upon potential witnesses of the violence to make themselves known so they can try and hunt Dr Farooq’s killers.
