Warnings in Allah’s Plan—Saving the Nation from Retribution

Commodore Tariq Majeed PN (Retd)

Quranic Warnings

Doesn’t the Qur’anic quotation mentioned above fit the situation in which the persons charged with money-laundering and dishonest conduct at the national level find themselves? They never imagined their ill-gotten wealth, which they had hidden in structures of shell companies, would be revealed through the phenomenon of Panama Papers! It is a warning for others who have harmed our nation by their corruption.

This warning in full is at Surah 16, Ayat 26: “Those before them did also plot but Allah took their structures from their foundations, and the roof fell down on them from above, and the Wrath seized them from directions they did not perceive.”

A similar warning is at Surah 39, Ayat 55: “And follow the Best of (the guidance) revealed to you from your Lord, before the Penalty comes on you, of a sudden, while you perceive not.”

The Quranic warnings which, if not heeded, result in retribution, are addressed to nations as well as people.

Corruption—A Serious Issue

After the Supreme Court verdict in the Panama Papers Case on 28 July 2017, the ousted premier, Nawaz Sharif, speaking at a gathering of his followers stated, as reported in Nation, 11 Aug 2017: “Why he was disqualified… if there were no corruption charges against him.”

This was incorrect, intentionally misleading, statement. But, he went on repeating it, using it as a propaganda ploy. Nawaz Sharif knew criminal charges were not framed by Supreme Court. This was the job of other institutions. Corruption, in fact, was mentioned in Supreme Court’s verdict, as reported in Nation, 29 July 2017. The verdict in Panama leaks case involving corruption allegations against Sharif family was unanimous of the five-member bench, headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa.”

Corruption allegations were confirmed according to Nation, 9 Sept 2017, as the National Accountability Bureau, on September 8, filed four interim corruption references against former premier Nawaz Sharif, his children and finance minister Ishaq Dar.”

Finally, his lie stood fully exposed when, as stated in Nation, 20 Oct 2017, “An accountability court indicted ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar in corruption references filed against them by NAB.”

Corruption is a major problem in every country today. A look at how it is defined is quite revealing, and it exposes the character and the conduct of the persons belonging to the ruling classes in our own country. Transparency International defines corruption on its website, (www.transparency.org), as “The abuse of entrusted power for private gain. Grand corruption consists of acts committed at a high level of government that distort policies or the central functioning of the state, enabling leaders to benefit at the expense of the public good.”

Holy Qur’an describes material corruption in simple words, and forbids it: “And do not eat up your property among yourselves for vanities, nor use it as bait for the rulers, with the intent that you may eat up wrongfully and knowingly a little of other people’s property;” (2:188). Allama Abdullah Yusuf Ali, in his commentary on the Holy Qur’an, explains: “The words translated ‘other people’s property’ may also mean public property.”

Sadly, it has to be admitted that public property, in our country, has been squandered, embezzled or usurped at a large scale by persons of all categories who had jurisdiction over any public property. This is a serious lapse in obeying Qur’anic commands, and, notwithstanding other factors, it is quite likely that this lapse, combined with other lapses, was behind the many disasters and tragedies that have occurred in Pakistan.

Trust in Allah—Missing in Conducting National Affairs

Trusting Allah, in other words, relying on His Power means making all efforts in the work in hand and having full faith that Allah Almighty would accord it a success, removing whatever may be the obstacles.

The vast majority of Pakistanis are believers, but do they really put their trust consciously in the divine power in respect of their affairs of life? Many people may say yes, they do. That may be true. But it would be in their private life, and the credit and reward for it would accrue to them, but individually.

At the national level, we do not see the rulers and the policymakers giving any consideration to divine power in conducting national affairs. The policies on foreign and economic affairs, which together set the direction of affairs in the other spheres of national life, are made totally excluding the element of divine power as if Allah had nothing to do with these affairs. They forget that Allah Almighty, in fact, has a Plan―and thus a decisive Role―concerning the affairs of all nations and people.

Allah’s Plan and Practice

Everything happens within the purview of Allah’s Plan that includes His Sunnah or Practice. The Divine Plan for the worldly life operates in three spheres or modes: the mode of Man, that of Satan, and Allah’s Own Mode. Both Man and Satan are allowed great freedom of action. Man can shape his life literally as he wants. Satan has the freedom to misguide Man and ruin his life utterly.

We know from the Holy Qur’an that Allah keeps exclusive control over certain matters such as death and sustenance. It is Allah’s normal Practice to let individuals and nations have what they desire and work for, let them proceed in the direction of their choice, and let them be ruined by Satan if they forsake the path of Allah and persist on the Satanic path.

It is also His Practice to keep testing individuals and nations to see if they deserve to remain in their existing, adverse or privileged, state, and to further favour or punish them. We also know, though we may not understand it, that at times Allah intervenes directly in the affairs of individuals and nations.

When Allah grants an individual or a nation a favour, it is not meant as a permanent privilege. If the recipient fails to protect it or fails to remain deserving of it, it is taken away.

Two Dire Warnings

There are two warnings issued by Allah Almighty that instil great fear in the believers:

“…The truth is that Allah never changes the condition of the people unless they themselves exert to change their own characteristics and their inner selves. But when Allah decides to punish a people (as a result of their own evil deeds), then there would be none to avert it or protect them from His retribution.” (13:11)

“When We decide to destroy a population, We (first) send a definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them; then (it is) We destroy them utterly.” (17:16

We must ensure that as a nation we do not land in the situation described in these two Ayats. While taking other measures, we must beg Allah Most Merciful to keep us away from falling in the state that leads to unavoidable destruction.

The Ideal Condition for Protection

Allah Most Benevolent has shown the path a people should take

that will save it from any penalisation and will also please the Almighty:

“They are those who, if We establish them in the land, establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong; with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs;” (22:41).

The government in Pakistan should have been acting on these directions. Perhaps it can claim meeting some of these conditions, although without reference to the divine directions. But in respect of enjoining the right and forbidding wrong, its performance is marked with serious lapses. In fact, a closer look into this aspect brings out disturbing facts that the government has been curtailing what was right and promoting what was wrong. Just a look at the shameful commercial advertisements endlessly being displayed on television channels is enough to show how immoral behaviour is being spread in society.

People should pray may Allah create conditions for eliminating these vices from our society, just as He created the situation that initiated the process of ending corruption by hauling up the corrupt top leaders and punishing them.  Allah’s merciful view of the Pakistani people and their fervent prayers may keep the fate, spelt out in the two Ayats of dire warnings, averted from the Pakistani nation—for as long as Allah wishes. It may be His intention to give more time to the ruling elite to change their conduct and the state of affairs of the nation to conform to the Quranic directions.

Avoiding Disastrous Fate

However, there are certain transgressions which the State of Pakistan must not commit, and if they are being committed they must be renounced fast, in order to be saved from a disastrous fate. Among them, in our understanding, three are to be avoided at all cost:

■ Shirk—ascribing “partners” to Allah

■ Taking Jews and Christians as Friends and Protectors

■ Recognizing the Zionist State of Israel

Avoid Shirk—ascribing “partners” to Allah

The Holy Qur’an contains scores of Ayats condemning Shirk in strongest of words, and declaring it to be an unforgivable sin. A very clear commandment, at Surah 4, Ayat 48, says:

“Allah does not forgive for ascribing partners to Him; but He forgives anything else to whomsoever He pleases; for whoever associates any other partner with Allah, does indeed forge a big lie and is guilty of the gravest sin.”

An Ayat eloquently expresses feebleness of human character in committing Shirk:

“How many signs there are in the heavens and on the earth which people pass by unobservably without paying any heed to them. And most of them do not believe in Allah, without associating and attributing partners to Him!” (12:105,106).

This deplorable reality draws attention to the widespread perpetration of this sin. People may not be realizing the nature and the gravity of their errant action, but this will not absolve them of retribution.

If the rulers of a country put their trust in a worldly, so-called, Superpower and, believing that their national policies are dependent on the will of this big power, put their country’s fate in the hands of this big power, are they not committing Shirk? The answer is: they are.

The supremacy that Pakistan’s rulers have let the United States seize over our vital national policies, and thus decisive hold over this country’s destiny, equates itself with divine power. It is a most undesirable situation as it is very close to, if not outright, committing Shirk. No one who knows the facts of both the Quranic warnings on Shirk and Pakistan’s abject acceptance of US dominance over its vital affairs can miss this conclusion. Pakistan should take its sovereignty in its own hands and conduct its policies as its national interest demands, and rely fully on Allah’s Guidance and Help.

Do Not Take Jews and Christians as Friends and Protectors

Holy Qur’an’s several warnings in this regard include this specific commandment:

“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors; they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah does not guide the wrongdoers;” (5: 51).

Disobeying this commandment has very serious consequences. It means the Muslims who take the Jews and Christians for friends and protectors are wrongdoers and become in the eyes of Allah a part of these communities, and are deprived of His Guidance.

It should be mentioned that among these communities there are some righteous people but they are a very small minority; the vast majority are transgressors, and they represent the community. Holy Qur’an says:

“If only the People of the Book had faith, it was best for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors;” (3:110).

As to why the Jews and the Christians have to suffer this disgraceful status. Actually, they brought it on themselves by their own misdeeds. Holy Qur’an explains it in numerous Ayats.

“Shame is pitched over them…. because they rejected the Signs of Allah, and slew the Prophets in defiance of right;” (3: 112).

“You see many of them racing towards sinful and wicked deeds and devouring illicit gain. Evil indeed are the things that they do;” (5: 62).

Are Pakistan’s rulers violating the divine orders that believers are not to take Jews and Christians as friends and protectors? At times it seemed they did commit this infringement. At other times their policies of Pakistan’s relations with the western Christian powers, which are in fact governed by local Zionist Jews, although friendly yet did not appear to be dependent on their protection.

However, the point to note here is that in devising the national policies, Pakistan’s rulers and top policymakers are not conscious at all of the existence of this or any other relevant Qur’anic orders concerning foreign relations. And this being the case, the danger of infringing upon the divine orders, and suffering consequential retribution, looms large on Pakistan.

Do not Recognize the Zionist State of Israel

Israel is an illegitimate state, created by means of deceit and force by western powers, mainly America and Britain, under the dominant Zionist influence. It was their pressure that various other countries recognized it. Otherwise, strong, irrefutable reasons of political and legal nature exist rendering this state ineligible for recognition. These reasons are widely cited in the extensive literature on Israel’s illegitimacy.

There is, however, a powerful reason of religious nature that forbids Muslims in particular from recognizing this illicit state. Israel is founded on Zionism that is both an ideology and a movement, which denies the concept of God and divine religion and negates every kind of religious teachings.

Israel’s “Zionist Foundations” were publicly asserted at the time of its creation. Announcing its birth, the New York Times on May 15, 1948, published the lead story with the banner headline: “Zionists Proclaim New State of Israel. Zionism’s system of life and cultural practices are diametrically opposed to the Islamic code of life and culture.

All kinds of immoral ideas and abominable practices, obscenity, adultery, perverted vices of homosexuality, same-sex marriage, ie, man to man, and woman to woman, are not only permitted but also are encouraged in Zionism’s ideology and system of life. What is more shocking is these satanic practices are backed by legal protection! Israel is the cradle, the originator, propagator and defender of these evils.

These evils are of satanic creed. Satan is intent upon spreading them in the world—a task that Israel is performing. Holy Qur’an warns:

“O ye who believe! Follow not Satan’s footsteps; if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong;”(24:21).

To recognize Israel means to accord acceptance and legitimacy to these evils. It means deliberately violating Allah’s commandment and thus inviting His Wrath.

Actions for Gaining Divine Favour—Effort, Gratitude, Prayer

Holy Qur’an specifies many ways to please Allah Most Beneficent and gain His favour. Three of these, in our view, especially fit the Pakistani Nation in the present circumstances, and must be acted upon.

Effort:

“The truth is that Allah never changes the condition of the people unless they themselves exert to change their own characteristics and their inner selves…” (13:11).

Gratitude:

“Why would Allah cause you to suffer (for your past sins) if you are grateful and attain to belief, seeing that Allah is always responsive to gratitude, all-knowing;” (4:147).“Remember, your Lord proclaimed that He will grant more favours if you are grateful…” (14:7).

Prayer:

“And your Lord has said: ‘Pray to me, and I shall answer your prayers…’” (40:60).

These actions should be taken both collectively and individually, begging Allah to bestow on Pakistan a new destiny and a sincere, capable and resolute leadership to lead the country to its new destiny.

Brussels Terror Attacks: Israel Again Targets Europe By Sajjad Shaukat

Brussels Terror Attacks: Israel Again Targets Europe

By Sajjad Shaukat

At least 37 people have been killed and several seriously injured in the coordinated terror attacks at Brussels international airport and a city metro station, which took place today. The state-owned Belga news agency reports that shots were fired and shouts in Arabic were heard before the two explosions. The attacks come four days after Salah Abdeslam, the main fugitive in the Paris attacks, was seized in Belgium.

French President Francois Hollande said, “The terrorists have struck Belgium, but it is Europe that was targeted.”

Belgium’s Interior Minister Jan Jambon had said on Monday that the country was on the highest level of alert for possible revenge attacks after the capture of Salah Abdeslam. He told Belgian radio: “We know that stopping one cell can… push others into action. We are aware of it in this case.’

As yet there has been no claim of responsibility, but according to jihadi watcher Michael Horowitz, a security analyst at the Levantine Group, social media accounts linked to Islamic State militants (ISIS or ISIL) have praised the attacks. The daily, Express also pointed out ISIS behind Brussels blasts.

However, we cannot blame Israel for the Brussels terror attacks without some solid reasons. In this regard, first of all, it is notable that regarding a case in the court, a judge always wants solid evidence to give his verdict. While a lawyer or advocate always defends the case of his client at every cost. Sometimes, reality of the event exists, but there is no solid evidence which could be produced in the court. It gives benefit of doubt to the accused who is set free by the concerned court. Even, in some cases, a judge is so impressed by the arguments of a lawyer that he ignores the circumstantial evidence. Quite contrarily, in international politics, we need in-depth analysis to know the real entity, as in relation to the Brussels blasts.

As regards terrorism, Machiavelli advises the rulers to have a lion-like image outwardly, and act upon the traits of goat inwardly. He also suggests them foreign adventures and the use of terror to obtain their goals. In his sense, a good ruler should be a good opportunist and hypocrite. While echoing Machiavelli, Morgenthau points out that sometimes, rulers act upon immoral activities like deceit, fraud, falsehood and even murder to fulfill their selfish aims.

Indicating double game, Morgenthau, and Palmer and Perkins opine, “Just as power became the instrument of ambitious nationalism and state’s leaders, it has now become the tool of ideologies. The true nature of the policy is concealed by ideological justifications and rationalization.”

If the double game of President Bush (The Senior) and George W. Bush franchised Al-Qaeda on global level, President Obama’s dual policy franchised both Al-Qaeda and ISIS as part of the anti-Muslim campaign and left no stone unturned in advancing the agenda of the Zionists, Israeli lobbies and the neoconservatives in the pretext of global war on terror. Secretly, Obama authorized CIA to create ISIS. His perennial covert support to the Israeli atrocities on the Palestinians, silence over the supply (Smuggling) of oil by ISIS to some European countries whose governments have also not taken action against those companies which are exporting oil from the ISIS-controlled regions of Iraq, CIA-assisted Al-Qaeda (Al-Nusra Front) and ISIS militants in Syria, continued sectarian violence and prolonged engagement of its troops (NATO) in Afghanistan might be cited as instance. By continuing the secret strategy of his predecessor—occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, Obama-led Administration went on with various techniques of ruthless terror and extrajudicial killings of the innocent persons—assisting undemocratic forces, toppling the elected government in Egypt, and like Iraq, creation of more failed states such as Libya, Syria, Yemen etc., opening the doors for Al-Qaeda and ISIS militants to establish Israel’s supremacy in the Middle East in particular and the world in general.

In this respect, the US President Barrack Obama, the neoconservatives and the Zionist-lobbies who have been backing the different war for a greater Israel, at cost of the Muslim World and the loyalist Americans were badly frustrated by unexpected developments after the September 30, 2015 such as Russian successful airstrikes on the ISIS targets in the northern Syria and Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, its coalition with Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon-based Hezbollah in support of Syrian President Assad, US Defense Department’s announcement to abandon the goal of training the Syrian rebels, retreat of the CIA-supported rebels and mercenaries after their failure to topple the Assad government, proving links of Al-Qaeda and ISIS with America and Israeli, Putin’s clear-cut statement, indicating the Zionist regime in the US and Israel for their “phony war on ISIS”, and remarking, “NWO (New World Order) agents and Satan worshipers simply have no clothes,” including the first Vienna meeting where the US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed to keep the Syrian president in power, not to allow ISIS militants group to reign in Syria, absence of Israel in the meeting and America’s decision of sending 50 special forces to Syria to help in taking down ISIS terrorists had clearly exposed the covert aims of the US global war on terror.

Meanwhile, some other developments such as decision of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to withdraw Canadian fighter jets from the US-led mission against ISIS, British Prime Minister David Cameron’s announcement to abandon plans to carry out airstrikes against ISIS positions in Syria, after his failure to receive support from Labour MPs, reluctance of NATO countries to support America’s fake global war on terror and acceptance of Syrian refuges by the European countries, especially Germany, the EU rule to boycott goods produced in Israeli settlements on the West Bank, including US internal problems like curtailment of liberties, failure of the of Obamacare, leakage of Transpacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), (An agreement to suppress sovereign democratic rights in favour of multinational corporations), criticism of Hilary Clinton about contributions of election-campaign from Wall Street backers etc. had disappointed the Obama Administration. While in wake of the election-campaign, Republicans and American public was also criticizing the government of Democrats and CIA for America’s (NATO) longest war in Afghanistan, facing defeatism, useless proxy wars under the cover of global war on terror and US heavy cost of war which caused serious financial crisis, adding to the dilemmas of Americans.

These developments had also frustrated Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu who also evolved a new theory of the Holocaust to get the sympathies of the US-led western entities, particularly, Europe by revealing, “Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews, he wanted to expel the Jews…a World War II-era Palestinian leader, the Mufti of Jerusalem, Nazi sympathizer, Haj Amin al-Husseini convinced Hitler to adopt their final solution to exterminate Jews.”

It is of particular attention that on January 7, 2015, two Islamic militants attacked the office of French satirical weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris, and killed 13 people on January 9, 2015. Two brothers namely Said and Cherif Kouachi suspected for the incident were killed in a shootout with Police—in a hostage-taking situation at a signage company in Dammartinen-Goele where some people were also targeted. Thus, the gunmen killed total 17 persons. In this context, on January 11, 2015, a rally was organized in Paris—with an estimated 1.6 million people in which 40 world leaders including Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu participated to express solidarity with the magazine. Afterwards, Mossad connections with Charlie Hebdo incident had been exposed by many senior analysts and social media bloggers, as the Zionist groups and Mossad used the episode to punish France on recognizing Palestinian state and to desist other EU countries to avoid such approach on Palestinians.

Similarly, on July 22, 2011, the twin terror-attacks in Oslo, Norway, killed 80 persons. The Norwegian man Anders Behring Breivik, a right-wing fundamentalist Christian, who admitted these attacks was obsessed with what he saw as the Muslim immigration—left behind a detailed online manifesto, calling for a Christian war to defend Europe against the threat of Muslim domination. In this regard, Kevin Barrett disclosed on October 14, 2015 through Veterans Today, “The official story claims that Anders Breivik acted alone…but survivors of the massacre on Utoya Island, which annihilated the anti-Zionist leadership of the youth wing of the Norwegian Labor Party, reported there were multiple gunmen…as in dozens of other false flag terror operations. The purpose was to punish Norway and its Labor Party for two policy breaches: Refusing to join NATO’s war on Libya, and moving toward a full boycott of Israel.”

Nevertheless, in order to revive the global war on terror, the neo-conservatives, Zionists and Israel needed the assistance of the whole Europe. For the purpose, conspiracy of the November 13 terror attacks in Paris was definitely prepared and the leading role was played by Mossad. In this respect, arrest of Israeli Col. Shahak in Iraq, his admission, proving links of Al-Qaeda and ISIS with America and Israel (Mossad) and medical treatment of the ISIS warriors in the Israeli hospitals might be cited as example. ISIS which was already being assisted by the CIA and Mossad was directed to send its militants in Paris.

Israel achieved its several sinister designs in the post-Paris attacks phenomena and the shooting at San Bernardino, California. Like the drastic aftermath of 9/11 tragedy, rulers and politicians of the US-led Western countries, especially of Europe, including their media have been misguiding their general public by creating chauvinism against the Muslims. They are propagating the so-called threat of Islamophobia. In one way or the other, the Muslims are being persecuted in the US and other Western countries, particularly in Europe.

As regards the anti-Muslim policy, on January 18, 2015, while singling out only Muslim women British Prime Minister David Cameron announced that Muslim women who fail to learn English to a high enough standard could face deportation from Britain. He also suggested that poor English skills can leave people “more susceptible to the messages of groups like Islamic State (IS).”

Earlier, Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s nominee for US presidential candidate had called for a ban on Muslims, entering the United States.

On January 25, 2016, The EU’s law enforcement agency Europol disclosed that ISIS has set up special forces style training camps in Europe, as they plot mass casualty civilian strikes on the continent. And under the threat of ISIS, especially European governments and EU have been expelling the immigrants, particularly the Muslims from their countries, while discouraging more Syrian refugees. On the other side, they are also trying to resolve the Syrian crisis. However, it shows contradictory policy.

After the Paris terror attacks, Israel-led America also got the assistance of its western allies (NATO) against Russia. And as part of their ambivalent approach, American jet fighters and those of its Western coalition are targeting the ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria including Libya.

It was due to the dual policy of the US-led Europe that ISIS which is most dangerous terrorist group than Al-Qaeda rapidly spread its tentacles all over the world. On January 14, 2015, multiple blasts and gunfire killed seven people and jolted the Indonesian capital Jakarta. The ISIS claimed responsibility. On October 4, 2015, ISIS-affiliated militant outfit Boko Haram claims responsibility for Nigeria’s deadly suicide bombings which killed 18 people on October 4. This outfit is also behind recent suicide attacks in Syria, Turkey, Iraq etc.

After the Paris attacks and acceleration of threat by ISIS, some of the European leaders have been empathizing upon the solution of the Palestinians issue.

In this connection, the Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom’s statement, hours after the Paris tragedy caused a stir in Jerusalem, as she said that “to counteract the radicalization, we must go back to the situation in the Middle East of which not the least the Palestinians see that there is no future: we must either accept a desperate situation or resort to violence.”

Even, a debate started between the Zionists and non-Zionist Jews for the two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian issue. Even, a majority of the western intellectuals have also been emphasizing upon the settlement of this dispute.

Most significantly, some recent developments like demoralization of the ISIS terrorists and the rebels who are on flee, after the Russia-led coalition reoccupied several territories in Iraq and Syria, UNO-backed ceasefire in Syria, brokered by the major powers including Russia and the United States, Russian President Putin’s surprise announcement to withdraw most of the forces from Syria, after strengthening the Assad regime—and hailing of Putin’s decision by Obama, UNO and European leaders irritated Tel Aviv. Putin’s favour to the UNO peace plan for Syria has also thwarted the B-Plan of Kerry who had said that if ceasefire or peace plan failed, Syria will be divided.

Besides, in wake of the presidential election-campaign, ordinary Americans are focusing on internal problems which are the result of prolonged war on terror. Patriot Americans are openly criticizing the Zionist-protected policies of the US. Taking cognizance, Obama has asked Turkey to withdraw its forces from Iraq’s territories. In the recent past, John Kerry gave ultimatum to the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to agree for the two-state solution of the Palestinian dispute.

In these circumstances, with the help of ISIS and Mossad, Israel again targetted Europe by arranging the Brussels blasts in order to avoid the settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian issue, and to implicate Syria-based ISIS—to thwart the ceasefire in Syria, to cause a major war between Russia and the US-led NATO, while turning the world to clash of civilizations, especially between the Muslim and the Christian worlds.

Mafia rule is security threat to Pakistan By Dr Shahid Qureshi

Mafia rule is security threat to Pakistan

mafia

<

p style=”text-align: left;”>Future of Pakistan is at risk if the present policies continued than there will be no army and no generals to criticise said a senior analyst in London. The presidential election cost Pakistan billions not to mention the human cost of its own people sacrificed. Some one told me that,” a country where black economy take over the white economy that country is always ruled by MAFIA”.

A mafia who is playing a game of “good cop and bad cop” rules Pakistan to keep power and control but innocent soldiers and civilians are dying every day. But for how long is the question? The recent Presidential Ordinance is a typical example of mafia style amnesty by blackmail and you scratch my back and I will yours. The law enforcement agencies are not capable and trained to catch the high tech criminals in Pakistan. Sugar, wheat, shares and cement mafia is too strong. Yes more than a military chief and President armed with 58 (2) b.

The law of evidence needs to redefine. The multiplication of millionaires and billionaires in Pakistan is clear evidence that Mafia is running the show while the poor people of Pakistan are paying indirect taxes. The “law of conflict of interest” almost don’t exist. Some officials are bidding on line from their laptops in the stock exchanges while sitting in sensitive places and start the business after the stock markets are closed.

Some analysts are questioning if Pakistan is ready to face any external threats because sensitive institutions and some high-ranking officials are busy in other things than doing their jobs. I objected to the suggestion that Pakistan’s Armed Forces would act like Iraqi army in case of ‘war from outside’. Pakistan armed forces are the best professionally trained provided they are allowed to do what they are supposed to do.

The civilians are not exception at all especially who are planning to spend retired life in the US. Pakistan has compromising elite who is undermining the Sovereignty of Pakistan day in day out. According to some reliable sources the wife of Pakistani Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohmmad Khan is an indigenous US Citizen and working in the US State Department. Does it sound odd? Is there any conflict of interest? Is nuclear Pakistan a free country or a banana republic?

On 12th September 2007, US Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte who was leading the American team in talks called on Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Riaz Muhammad Khan before formal opening of the talks on Pakistan-United States strategic dialogue to promote bilateral relations and expand cooperation in various fields. Trouble follows wherever Negroponte goes.

Critics says certain minorities like Qadianis in Pakistan are playing major role as a bridge between Zionist state and present rulers of Pakistan through their up and running office in Israel and presence of approximately 600 Qadianis in the Israeli Army.

On Monday 8th October 2007 Israeli President Shimon Peres congratulated Pervez Musharraf on his yet unofficial re-election as president of Pakistan, a country with which Israel has no relations. “Although we do not have formal relations, I would like to convey my best wishes on your election as president of Pakistan for a second term,” Peres wrote in a letter made public.

“You have shown responsibility and strength in preventing the spread of violence and terrorism on many occasions and I carry in my heart your support for peace in the Middle East which I heard directly from you.”

Israel and Pakistan, the world’s second-most populous Muslim country, have no official relations. However, Musharraf and the now coma-stricken former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon shook hands on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September 2005.

President Musharraf made a surprise offer on Friday 20th April 2007, to help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in an interview with the pan-Arab satellite Television Al-Arabia.

Musharraf told the Dubai-based television that he would be willing to visit the Jewish state in order to help bring peace to the troubled Middle East. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said Pakistan’s involvement would be welcomed, but said Musharraf’s effectiveness would likely be limited.

“Israel believes that moderate Muslim countries like Pakistan can play a very important role in helping and strengthening the Middle East peace process,” Regev said. “Having said that, experience has clearly demonstrated that the most successful mediators have always been those that have established and solid relationships with both sides.”

Israel on Saturday 21st April 2007, welcomed an offer by President General Pervez Musharraf to help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but said it was doubtful the Pakistani leader could make much progress. But Israeli Prime Minister turned down the offer later on.

“General Pervez Musharaf’s coup seemed timely. Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said to Newsweek Magazine (5 November 2001):’I told him [President Bush], we understand your strategy, as a good Jewish boy, I would have never dreamed that I would pray for the safety of Musharraf, the president of Pakistan. That is a most unexpected experience.”

Shimon Peres has a soft corner for General Musharaf for long time but why is a million dollar question? Why would a leader with blood of Palestinians on his hand love General Musharaf? That is for President and his team to think. People of Pakistan need justice not bullets need food not bombs. Does any one think Indian-US agenda and interests are common in Waziristan and Baluchistan?

The Men at the Borders.. Can you spare a moment for them? – Fahad Malik

The Men at the Borders..

Can you spare a moment for them?

Pakistan is in a useless battle, and in a cycle of sufferings from last 12 years, and the rebellious waves caused destruction in every corner of the country. Civilians, including children, women, girls schools, Forces Headquarters, Airports, Mosques, streets, Govt. & private properties, everything was under attack. That all destruction stopped progress of country, bankrupted the economy of Pakistan and above all the image of Pakistan at international level was severely damaged. Civil administration was helpless before the terrorists. They controlled many areas, made them their base camps, started oppression against the local population, and announced to spread their evil activities to the other parts of the country. So, there was no other way except to start a final blow against the terrorists. Just before the Ramadan, Pakistan Army started a decisive operation against terrorists, in the North Waziristan, which was the voice of every patriotic Pakistani.

228480_52133596For a country, the biggest proud is there defensive institutions, and their armed forces who are actually considered as a sign of terror and fear for the opponents of nation & the state. But the strength & courage of those forces is doubled, when their people are standing shoulder to shoulder and all the personal or political interests are above anything to defend nation and to support their military. Exactly that unity and that support is needed by our Men, when in the present circumstances they are defending their borders and also fighting against the biggest threat to the state, Taliban Militants in Zarb-e-Azab. This is the moment, when it is the responsibility of political parties, religious groups, and civil society to support their forces in every way, until the last terrorist is killed, until the last bullet is fired, and Pakistan is decontaminated from terrorists. Our forces are in the state of war, they need your prayers, they need their nation to stand with them, because battles are not won with weapons, but with the unity, not with the arms, with the hands, prayers..

Stand.. Stand up with them, and let the world know, let the international community know, that we are peaceful people, and are against terrorists, this is the right time to maintain unity, to be under one flag, they are in war with terrorists, and we, we can beat the nefarious intentions of Taliban with our alliance. It is the time to express solidarity with Pakistan Army, it is the time to support them. Its almost 40 days now, but have you ever thought, that this is Ramadan and your soldiers are fighting in the holy month in the state of Roaza? Have you ever stopped for a while at your Sehar & Iftar and thought how they are managing their Sehri’s and Iftaaris? No. You never did, you never will. Because you live in an AC room, and you don’t know how Roaza goes in a battle field. You are used to Iftar on a table, with your family around, you don’t know how it feels to Iftar alone, just with water in a battle field.. No I don’t ask for anything, neither they’ll. I am just asking to put up your hands and pray for their safety. I just ask to say a word for them. Say a line, in their support, defend them when they are being criticized in front of you, make a poster, write a line, light up a candle for them, be on their side, that would be enough. That would be adequate from your side. Honor them with anything you can do for them. Because, they are awake, for your peaceful sleep.

Political Turmoil & Media Biases against the Security Agencies By Sajjad Shaukat

Political Turmoil & Media Biases against the Security Agencies

Political turmoil, uncertainty and chaotic situation persists in capital city of Islamabad, asPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) by Dr. Tahirul Qadri continue AZADI (Freedom) and INQILAB (Revolution) long marches after having converted their protests into sit-ins (DHARNAs) have placed tough conditions, demanding resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of PML (N) and top ministers. The protesters have virtually brought life to stand still in Islamabad after implementing their rebuking slogans to move into Red Zone where security has further been tightened.

The stakes appear to be getting high with every passing day, because, on the one hand, the protesting groups are getting edgy, impatient and vibrant, hoping that more people will join them. On the other hand, delayed strategy of the ruling party, PML (N) to accept the demands of PTI and PAT resulted into loss of precious time and failure to bring a peaceful political solution through dialogue. Commissions and Committees launched at such a belated stage are finding it difficult to create and manage a thaw in the tension ridden situation.

In this regard, leaders of the political parties like PPP, Jamaat-e-Islami and MQM including some other prominent political figures and government’s top officials have tried to defuse the tension through dialogue, emphasizing both the rival parties to show flexibility to reach some peace agreement, but could not yet succeeded. A hope was again created when PPP’s co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and leaders of various political parties, but his efforts also produced no results.

While the Imran Khan displayed a greater flexibility when he altered his demand of prime minister’s resignation, saying, the PM Nawaz can hold his post after a month, once the investigation of poll’s rigging is completed. But the ruling party rejected the demand, remaining stern to its stance. Meanwhile, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution, demanding supremacy of the constitution and law, rejecting the unconstitutional demands of PTI and PAT including the resignation of the Prime Minister Nawaz and the dissolution of the National Assembly. In their fierce speeches, leaders of PML (N), PPP and ANP including other ones, also said that they would oppose any move which could derail democracy in the country.

Although impartial politicians are still hopeful, and continue talks between the ruling party and the leaders of the long marchers, yet no breakthrough seems to occur. In these tense circumstances, some politicians and most of the media anchors have continuously been misguiding the general masses by pointing out that the ongoing system of democracy can be derailed, and martial law can be imposed in the country.

Unfortunately, certain media houses, analysts and commentators played a very negative role in projecting the entire gamut of political standoff between the government and the protesting parties. Instead of acting as a redeemer, allowing the public to take a sigh of relief, media took clear positions to support the wishes and promoting the agenda of their employers, while creating sensationalism, giving biased comments and remaining unruly, noisy and rowdy in their overall conduct. The viewers were at pains to see these media analysts, offering their comments and favoring their sponsoring agencies and influencing authorities. Their obvious and slanted views enabled the viewers to quickly understand that they were trying to payback to their sponsors. This is nothing, but selling one’s intellect for few pennies or for other petty gains of personal advancement and fame.

By manipulating the political turmoil, created by the politicians, particularly media anchors, especially those working with Geo/JANG Group insinuate that Pakistan’s Armed Forces and intelligence agency, ISI are behind Tahir-ul-Qadari and Imran Khan’s long marches, and sit-ins in Islamabad. The commentators and reporters like Asma Jehangir, Ansar Abbasi, Tariq Butt, Wasim Abbas and Ahmed Noorani appear to have ganged up against Army and ISI, and are trying to score points against these security agencies by accusing these esteemed national institutions without any evidence. However, while speaking in the tone of foreign entities, such elements are hostile to Army and ISI, and leave no stone unturned in depicting these security agencies in bad light.

Undoubtedly, democracy has displayed its success in the west, but, it has proved to be fruitless in Pakistan. Therefore, it is generally said that “any instrument can be misused.” Pakistan’s politicians and media have always claimed that they nourish democratic ideals, but, we could not establish this system on a strong footing due to irresponsible approach of our political entities and media.

Past experience proves that our political parties have worked on undemocratic principles like hostility for the sake of hostility, formation of alliances and counter-alliances to win the elections. Much time is wasted in retaliation against the previous government instead of fulfilling the promises, made with the voters during election campaign. So, they forget the real aim of public mandate by resolving the economic and social problems of the masses. In this context, they also misguide the general masses by forming extreme opinion among them towards their opponents. In fact, concentration of wealth in few hands has created a privileged class of landowners and industrialists who contest elections winning the same against each other again and again.

It is noteworthy that in 2011, during the Memogate case, some political entities and media commentators were saying that martial law will be imposed in the country. The then Chief of Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani stated, “The Pakistan Army has and will continue to support democratic process in the country.” As Army was acting upon the principle of non-interference in political affairs, therefore, the previous government completed its tenure.

At this critical juncture, Pakistan is facing multi-faceted crises. And our Armed Forces are successfully obtaining their objectives in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) through military operation Zarb-e-Azb against the terrorists who had challenged the writ of the state, and had frightened the entire nation by their terror-acts. So Armed Forces are already committed in Zarb-e-Azb and have no intention to get involved in political issues. Political disputes need political solutions or political compromises with give and take. They sincerely desire political stability and economic viability in Pakistan. They support all peaceful efforts to resolve internal conflicts and condemn violence as well as acrimonious propaganda against them.

In this connection, taking note of the ongoing crisis and rumors, DG of Inter-Service Public Relations, Major General Asim Bajwa impartially stated on August 20, “The buildings in the Red Zone (Islamabad) are symbols of state and must be respected. He, also added, “All issues should be resolved through dialogue…all the stakeholders to hold result-oriented dialogue in the interest of the country and its people.”

Nonetheless, the protesting groups have challenged the moral authority of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Now, the premier has to show political acumen to handle the situation and prove his worth as a leader. In this respect, Pak Army and ISI fully support the government by openly rejecting the baseless allegations that the prevailing political mess has been orchestrated by the former. Therefore, sense must prevail upon those who tend to shift the blame on Army and ISI, as and when they fail in resolving the serious issues.

Now, situation in Islamabad is getting serious and so is the case of political temperature. According to latest reports, stalemate has deepened between the PTI-PAT and the rulers, and they remains firm on their stands—after the PTI launched movement of civil disobedience, and presented resignations of its members (Parliamentarians) in the National Assembly.

Time is running out. Hence, in wake of this unresolved crisis, demonstrating patience and tolerance, the rival parties should find out the solution in national interest with meaningful negotiations. And media has a great responsibility to remain neutral by offering balanced views, ensuring objective reporting and making efforts to show maturity, while commenting, analyzing and reporting high profile issues and matters, having involving national stakes. Instead of showing media biases against the security agencies by exploiting the political turmoil, our media must realize its responsibilities, especially when the country is faced with an extra-ordinary challenge like the one, being experienced in Islamabad.
