NAWAZ SHARIF ORDERED PERVAIZ RASHEED TO DEFEND GEO & JANG AT ALL COSTS:BLASPHEMY IRRELEVANT & INDIA’S IMAGE MORE IMPORTANT THAN PAKISTAN ARMY’S REPUTATION

Pervaiz-Rasheed-hints-at-going-to-any-extend-to-save-Jang_Geo

MAY 19, 2014

By Raza Ruman

Islamabad, May 19 (Pak Destiny) Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed has hinted that he will go to any extent in supporting and saving the Jang/Geo group come what may.

Perviaz Rashid has warned the Cable Operators of blocking any TV channel (Geo) or disturbing its number.
He did not condemn the Karachi Press Club incident in which Geo group reporters stopped the Cable Operators from holding a press conference.
On the issue of ISI chief bashing, Pervaiz Rasheed has not yet given comments being a law minister too sought from the PEMRA.
Earlier,he had made it clear “we are with the people of dalil (Geo group) not with the people of galail (ISI, army)”.
Let’s see if Mr Rasheed manages to save Geo from shutting down after the latest blasphemy episode involving its host Shiasta Lodhi. But one thing is clear Pervaiz Rasheed is making all out efforts to save the media group whom Imran Khan has labelled “PML-N media cell”. – Pak Destiny

Disaster and incompetence

Disaster and incompetence

Random thoughts

The last few weeks have been taken up by news of the tragic events in Thar where many young children and large numbers of cattle died due to drought and serious shortage of food and water. Thousands of people travelled on foot with their cattle to find ‘greener pastures’.

While this tragedy was building up, the rulers of Sindh were busy spending billions on the ‘Sindh Festival’ to even notice. When footage of infants dying of starvation in their mothers’ laps started surfacing, the rulers laid the blame for their deaths on disease rather than from the effects of drought.

Did not Hazrat Umar (RA) categorically state that if even a dog died of starvation or thirst on the banks of the Euphrates, he, Umar, would be held responsible to Allah for it on the Day of Reckoning? In Thar, hundreds of children died of starvation, but the rulers are least bothered. Surely there will be severe and painful punishment for such callousness.

Many of you might have read the story of a not very religious person who picked up a wounded and starving dog and took it home where he fed and looked after it. After the man died, his neighbour, a self-proclaimed ‘pious’ person, saw him in a dream looking quite happy and content. Upon enquiry he was informed that the Almighty was so pleased with his kindness to the sick dog that he had given him a place in Paradise immediately.

True or fictitious, the Almighty is the most beneficent, the most merciful and all knowing. In Thar, hundreds of infants died of starvation, yet our rulers are under the illusion that they will not be held responsible. It is a blessing from the Almighty that we have so many kind-hearted people and philanthropists in our country who always jump in to help calamity-hit people.

In this case too, food and other aid in kind was rushed to Thar by the MQM, Edhi, the army, Jamaat-e-Islami.
Commodore Ilyas, that he should drill wells in the area for the supply of clean drinking water. Some friends and I had arranged for the boring of two wells (costing $20,000) in the desert surrounding Timbuktu where we had earlier helped Abdul Rahman build a simple, eight-bedroom guesthouse. This guesthouse provided boarding and lodging for tourists and jobs and financial support for about 25 families.

At a later visit we were happy to see hundreds of people and thousands of head of cattle benefitting from the wells. When the Malaysian Ambassador at Dakar, Zainul Abedur, visited Timbuktu, stayed at the guesthouse and was shown the wells, he was so impressed that he paid for two more wells to be dug. These four wells are now supplying adequate water and sparing people from having to walk many kilometres every day to obtain water from other sources. In that area, water is found at a depth of around 400 meters.

The agreement with the boring company was that, should they need to go deeper, they would bear the extra cost, but should they not need to go that deep, they would refund the portion not used. Alhamdulillah, what a practical demonstration in honesty and fair play!

If Riaz Hussain Sahib manages to get a sufficiently large number of wells dug in the Thar area, the residents will have a permanent supply of water for household purposes, cattle and limited use for irrigation for crops and vegetables. What a blessing that would be! It is supposed that here too the average depth of such wells would be no more than about 400 meters.

Now danger bells are ringing in Cholistan. However, contrary to the lethargic attitude of the Sindh rulers, Mian Shahbaz Sharif immediately dashed to Cholistan to personally supervise relief work. He is always quick to respond to emergencies. We can only hope that a serious crisis will not develop there.

Another matter of significant importance is the federal government’s total incompetence in appointing heads to 19 important state organisations. Nine months in the saddle and still such simple yet important decisions have not been taken. The other day Fahad Hasan Fahad, an additional secretary in the PM Secretariat, was trying to convince noted anchorperson, Kamran Khan, that there were legitimate reasons for not doing so.

There was no such hesitation in filling Cabinet posts, competent or otherwise, while it was not possible to find 19 people from a population of 190 million, many of whom are highly educated and competent (but, alas, not stooges). When setting up the Kahuta Plant, it took me only a few weeks to put together an exemplary team that proved its competence by delivering a nuclear arsenal in seven years and ballistic long range missiles in three years. We also initiated and completed the rehabilitation of the Peoples’ Steel Mill in two years and planned and executed the construction of the state-of-the-art GIK Institute in three years.

It would have been possible for me to select competent people to fill these vacant posts within four weeks. The additional secretary seems to be looking for geniuses from outer space. It is rather unfortunate that the PM, who has been in the chair twice before, is not showing any maturity. His two previous governments did not do well – full of financial scandals and maladministration – and both times he was sent home. This time, too, he has surrounded himself with inexperienced and incompetent sycophants.

The same game as before is on now. Supreme Court orders are finding space in dustbins and the courts have been left with no powers. Their orders to appoint a chief election commissioner, chairman of the Higher Education Commission, chairman of the Pakistan Steel Mills, chairman PIA, etc are all being ignored. Repeated orders for holding local bodies elections have been totally ignored and rejected. Nonetheless, there are claims of good and transparent governance.

Mark my words; this government will leave us under heavy foreign debt, inflation, further absence of law and order (even Islamabad faces the law of the jungle these days), corruption, etc. This practice of ‘ruling by turn’ is going to be the death of Pakistan. There is no viable opposition. Only here can ‘do mubari’ (second-rate, incompetent) corrupt people rule, plunder and destroy. Unless a revolution takes place soon, nothing will change – there is no hope for the common man.

HISTORY OF CORRUPTION OF US AGENT NAWAZ SHARIF

SO CALLED POLTICAL LEADER OF PAKISTAN PART 1

PM Sharif among billionaire lawmakers

History of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif So Called Poltical Leader of Pakistan

12DEC,2013

In the early eighties, after that Nawaz Sharif had completed his education his father Mian Muhammad Sharif started him in the business. However, this proved a disaster. As a second option Mian Muhammad Sharif set him up with Pakistani actor Saeed Khan Rangeela to get him into acting (something which Nawaz Sharif wanted).

A few days later Saeed Khan Rangeela sent his regrets to Mian Muhammad Sharif saying that his son was too dumb for acting and movie industry. Mian Muhammad Sharif then a cricket coaches to train his son for cricket, but his physical fitness was too low for the sport. It is rumored that by mid-day on his first day at training Nawaz Sharif threw the bat down and left the stadium saying, “This is too tough for me.”  As a last resort he paid General Ghulam Jilani Khan a considerable sum of monies to introduce Nawaz Sharif to General Zia-ul-Haq recommending him for a political post, who in turn made Nawaz Sharif the Finance Minister of Punjab. This was the day when the street thugs of Mohni Road had stepped on to becoming the national thugs of Pakistan.

The day Nawaz Sharif had become Finance Minister, the entire family’s earnings were few million rupees and had only one refinery. From there they went on to: Ittefaq Sugar Mills was set up in 1982, Brothers steel in 1983, Brother’s Textile Mills in 1986, Brothers Sugar Mills Ltd in 1986, Ittefaq Textile units in 2-3 in 1987, Khalid Siraj Textile Mills in 1988, Ramzan Buksh Textiles in 1987, Farooq Barkat (pvt) Ltd in 1985. By the time of Zia ul Haq’s fateful plane crash, Mian Muhammad Sharif’s family was earning a net profit of US$ 3 million, up from a few million rupees. By the end of the decade their net assets were worth more than 6 billion rupees, according to their own admission, nearly US$ 350 million at the time. But this turned out to be small-change when Nawaz Sharif became the Prime Minister.

When Nawaz Sharif became prime minister, the group took a decision to secure project loans from the foreign banks and only working capital were taken from the nationalized commercial banks. The project financing from foreign banks was ostensibly secured against the foreign currency deposits, a number of which were held in benamee accounts, as repeatedly claimed by Interior Minister Naseer Ullah Babar at his press conferences. In 1992 Salman Taseer released an account of Nawaz Sharif’s corruption stating that the family had taken loans of up to 12 billion rupees, which were never paid back. On March 2, 1994, Khalid Siraj, a cousin of Nawaz Sharif claimed that the assets of the seven brothers were valued at Rs 21 billion.

These were the accounts of profits and companies which were openly known to public. However, the family kept their side business going all the while ” the gambling dens and heroin control in Lahore ” and along with their industry the side business also mushroomed.

During the Afghan-Soviet War Nawaz Sharif’s cousin Sohail Zia Butt started working under the drug baron Mirza Iqbal Beg, then Pakistan’s second biggest drug lord after Ayub Afridi. Mian Muhammad Sharif and his sons had a permanent share in his gambling and heroin business. In 1990 Suhail Butt won a seat on the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad ticket in the Punjab Assembly. It was through Sohail Butt’s association that Nawaz Sharif became a close associate of Mirza Iqbal Beg. It was through him that Nawaz Sharif became benami owner of many of the privatized government entities, such as Muslim Commercial Bank. Sohail Zia Butt other than getting involved in the drug business made billions in the co-operative societies’ collapse, mainly through the National Industrial Credit and Finance Corporation. It was Nawaz Sharif’s share in his cousin’s drug business which he used to buy off the generals thereby delaying the inevitable dismissal of his government.

In 1995 when Mirza Iqbal Beg was imprisoned, Sohail Zia Butt took over his drug empire. It is at this time that he became one of the biggest drug and crime bosses in Pakistan and was nicknamed the “King of Hera Mandi” and at one time all six underworld gangs of Lahore were working under him.

By 1995 family’s declared annual profits from industrial units had increased 1500% from US$ 30 million to staggering US$ 400 million.

This is the short version of how in mere 15 years small street thugs running gambling dens became leaders of a country running narcotics, underworld and smuggling empires, untouched by everyone.

And other such Zameer Froshan who are on paid role of Nawaz Sharif have gone absolutely  Deaf & Dumb, rather have totally lost their power to think and write on such an important national issue where the wealth of the sitting Prime Minister of Pakistan rise manifold then declared a year earlier, despite the fact that whatever declared is far far less from the wealth he looted & plundered from this poor country where around 45% of its population lives under poverty line.

All this ill gotten wealth has been taken out of this country when this fraud was in power.
The declared wealth of this fraud is 1.8 billion.

Where as, only his Raiwind Palace is spread over 27000 kanals . The price of open land  in that particular area is Rs. 2300000/ Kanal, leave aside the cost of 85000 sqf of constructed & built up areas.

The calculation is very simple vis a vis valve of his over all declaration. However, no mention of properties owned by our holy cow in UK, SPAIN, USA,UAE, Turkey and investments all around the world including Saudia Arabia. It would not be out of place to mention that before 1979 ( Zia ul Haq Era) Sharifs had only one steel factory under the title of Ittafaq Foundry, and used to live some where near Gowalmandi Lahore in a makan  opening directly on the road.

All what they have today is a Loot Ka Mal and belongs to the people of Pakistan, which this fraud family from Lahore will have to return sooner or later.

What a shame oh such selfish so called journalists who remain quiet on the subject knowing each and every detail of this looted mal.

THE MYSTERY OF RAIWIND PALACE OWNERSHIP

ISLAMABAD: The ownership of the Raiwind palace spread over thousands of acres is a mystery because it has never been mentioned in the statements of assets and liabilities of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other members of his family in politics.

Even latest declarations submitted by Nawaz Sharif, his brother Shahbaz Sharif, son-in-law Captain Mohammad Safdar and nephew Hamza Shahbaz to the Election Commission of Pakistan are silent on the ownership title of the huge property.

But Information Minister Pervez Rasheed told Dawn that the property was in the name of Shamim Sharif, mother of the Sharif brothers.
The statements of assets show that the Sharif brothers have much in common. Both live in houses not owned by them. Nawaz Sharif lives in a house owned by his mother while Shahbaz Sharif resides in a house owned by his spouse Nusrat.

Both use Land Cruisers gifted to them by unspecified persons. Both have multiple foreign and local currency accounts, own huge agricultural land and have investments in industrial units like sugar, textile and paper mills.

The most visible dissimilarity is the rapid growth in the value of assets owned by the elder brother and continuous decline in the value of assets possessed by the younger brother. Another dissimilarity is that Shahbaz Sharif has two properties in the United Kingdom, but Nawaz Sharif has no assets abroad.

Till the time of elections in May last year, Shahbaz was richer than Nawaz — though none of them a billionaire — but things are different now. According to the recent declaration, the value of Nawaz Sharif’s wealth has registered a six-fold increase in just 12 months to make him a billionaire for the first time.

According to statements of assets and liabilities, the net worth of Nawaz Sharif’s assets was Rs261.6 million in 2012 and of Shahbaz Sharif Rs336.9m.

In 2011, the assets of the Sharif brothers were worthRs166m and Rs393m, indicating an increase ofRs95.6m and decrease of Rs56.5m, respectively.

In 2013, the value of assets of Nawaz Sharif ballooned to Rs1.82bn while that of Shahbaz Sharif slipped further to Rs142m.

Incidentally, Shahbaz Sharif has more stakes abroad than in the country.

He owns properties and bank account worthRs138.28m in the UK. He has three loans worth117.10m in Pakistani rupees in British banks.
The younger brother has not disclosed the value of five properties with net area of around 676 kanal in Lahore – all gifted by his mother.
He has Rs51.96m cash in hand and Rs7.27m in his sole bank account in the country. (Editor’s Note: Out of 180 Million Pakistani Civilians & Military, how many can boast such amount as CASH IN HAND)

Mrs Nusrat, the first wife of Mr Shahbaz, had assets worth Rs273.46m on June 30 last year. It wasRs224.56m a year earlier. She has Rs14.34m cash in hand and Rs1.95m in her five bank accounts.
The assets of Mrs Tehmina, the second wife of Shahbaz Sharif, are worth Rs9.83m. They wereRs7.64m last year.

She has five bank accounts – two in Pound Sterling, one in dollar and two in Pak rupees, but the money in these accounts is only Rs23,770. She has cash in hand and prize bonds worth Rs750,000 and two cars.
Kalsoom Nawaz, the wife of Nawaz Sharif, has net wealth of Rs235.85m, which is much less than that ofMrs Nusrat Shahbaz.

Mrs Kalsoom Nawaz has land and a house in Changa Gali, Abbottabad, worth Rs63.75m, a bungalow on Mall Road in Murree worth Rs100m, 88 kanal of land in Sheikhupura worth Rs70m, jewellery of Rs1.5m and shares in family businesses.

She has Rs67,555 cash in hand and Rs55,765 in banks.
Hamza Shahbaz is wealthier than his father with net assets of Rs250.46m. He has two wives. The wealth of his first wife is Rs2.45m and that of the second isRs9.88m.

Capt Safdar’s wealth is worth Rs14.23m. He owns a car which his wife Marium received as a gift from the UAE

Sender  Email is here for the awareness of people of Pakistan and  concerns;

Dear Media Friends,

I am bringing this very sad story in your kind notice and APPEAL for the HELP to this over seas Pakistani businessman Mr. Sheri Bashir who originally belongs to Sheikhupura but having a very good and established business in USA and Japan. He invested almost 2 million dollars in Sheikhupura and build a high rise building of international standard and also established an international standard fast food restaurant.

He has been receiving the Parchies (letters) for Bhatta from a Group called “Bhatti Group” for Rs.500,000/- from the last few days along with the free ride of fast food meals in his restaurant for the Goons of Bhatti Group. This gentleman seeked the help of police and managed to register an FIR in the A-Division Police Station Sheilkhupura. (Copy of the FIR is attached as ready reference). The SHO arrested 3 nominated accused from the fast food restaurant of overseas Pakistani who were enjoying the free meal as usual.  But when the leaders of this Bhatta Group got to know the arrest of their 3 members, they attacked on this businessman and tortured him a lot. After this the leaders of this Bhatta group who are reported to be working under the umbrella of sitting MNA of PML(N) went to police station along with the DSP Mr. Mirza and got released the three nominated and arrested accused from the police station.

Some Questions:

1- Is Province Punjab is also now going  to be the heaven of Bhatta Khori ?
2- After such events, would any other overseas Pakistani would dare to invest in Pakistan?
3- Can such overseas Pakistani would survive against a powerful MNA and police under the influence of this sitting  MNA?

Thanks                                        http://thedemocrate.com/

AVM Shahzad Chaudhry’s Article Pak Papers Refused To Publish: Don’t Dig

Dear Sir,

Find below a Piece that my regular Papers simply refused to publish; and this after over five years of a relationship between me and these mainstream Papers. Question: How deep is this conspiracy to strangulate Musharraf? Many of us may have many reasons to dislike Musharraf – I have many – but is this how justice is dispensed.

What Pakistan’s mainstream Papers would not publish because it just might seem to offer a ray of hope to Musharraf needs to be widely disseminated.

Let no voice be stifled.

Please share widely with your contacts.

Regards.

Shahzad Chaudhry

Don’t dig….

When in 1999 Nawaz Sharif dithered inexplicably on sacking Musharraf following Kargil, he began a series of actions that only blighted this nation and his personal self. A stand-off pregnant with the possibility that either man may strike against the other ensued. Nawaz Sharif procrastinated endlessly and provided Musharraf the opportunity to regain his balance. Musharraf struck on October 12, in response to a botched attempt by Mian Sahib to finally remove him.

Musharraf’s coup was an aberration; there being no earthly reason for him to call a coup other than preserving his position as the army chief. It derailed democracy; stunted political growth, and disenfranchised the political spectrum of the society by forcing Nawaz Sharif, and Benazir soon after, into exile. Within the military it wasn’t a popular coup; though, once it occurred it slowly engendered hope and promise against the dismal performance of the  government that Musharraf dislodged. In his nine years Musharraf did well on economy with a strong team, but it all came at the cost of another inevitable estrangement between personalities and institutions. Today Musharraf finds himself in the dock as a payback for that excess; at least that should have been the case. It is not.

The original sin, the October 12, 1999 coup, which was universally abhorred, stands condoned, but the November 03, 2007 Emergency is what will not go unpunished. Strange ways. The November 03 emergency was a bona fide Constitutional measure under Article 232; but it must be brought to book because some judges refused to take a new oath after having already been tainted with an earlier oath under a PCO. One could question Musharraf’s judgment, or intent, but not his right to impose Emergency; and judgment remains a matter of opinion while intent is difficult to stand the test of legal evidence.

Mian Sahib, given his personality, hates confrontation; his previous proclivity for the same proscribed considerably with unpleasant experiences in his previous tenures. Nawaz Sharif would have known that he, Musharraf and Chaudhry Iftikhar, the former Chief Justice, were all tied into a triangular relationship around events that occurred in 1999, and after, and a recall on one would invariably mean bringing the other two into perspective with all the attendant fall-out – mostly adversarial and negative. A recall, that comes in the manner of an ill-timed trial, will bring alive the accompanying din of vengeance. Yet, he and his government have in hand a hot potato that they rather not have touched in the first place.

Perhaps, he has his Minister of Interior, Chaudhry Nisar, and some expedient politics, to blame for the ensuing discomfort. When seriously deficient administrative measures caused a most unfortunate mayhem and loss of life in the Ashura incident in Rawalpindi, the government fell back to the most infamous political tactic of introducing a diversion sure to take the focus away from a tardy failure. Out of nowhere, and having stayed quiet all this while on the issue, the government in its wisdom decided to bring Musharraf to justice. The Ashura incident since has long been forgotten. What we have instead is another challenge.

Mian Sahib is knee deep in the quagmire that is terrorism; tanked-out economy; impossible and deficient energy state; inflation and poverty that now are monstrosities; a nation that stands so fragmented along its various fault-lines that it seems on the verge to implode; sans direction, possibly without a vision, dysfunctional, smacking of incapacity to get out of the hole that it finds itself in. Instead he digs, and the hole only gets deeper, insurmountable.

This is what a Musharraf trial will deliver. A commonly held belief among the masses – and the upper crust one percent is no masses, please – that by indicting Musharraf the civilians will have evened out with the military. To the masses, Rule of Law is a farce of the elites that has no relevance to their lives. To the vocal elites, it is an opportunity to flag Rule of law as a divine principle that in reality they will never let touch their personal or collective lives. The veneer of morality is shamelessly superficial. Peel a layer, and you will soon be confronted by the argument, ‘but was not a civilian Prime Minister hanged?’. Right, he was, and Pakistan is poorer for it. But does that justify a repeat of the heinousness of our collective animalistic instincts; again. Who are we? And what games are we indulging in? We are already having trouble qualifying as people to the rest of the world. For heaven’s sake, know what is right; and even more importantly, when is right.

When the courts in the previous government brought many a retired general before it on various charges, the army leadership was internally castigated by both the serving and the retired community for abandoning their own to the travesties of disrespect and dishonor that were wrought in the name of Rule of Law and civilian supremacy. To a military mind, appearing before courts – any court including their own – is an indignity; one simply is not meant to err. Musharraf’s trial will rekindle that sense of indignity especially when in the parallel civilian structures – that bay for Musharraf’s blood – there is nothing of moral capital to show. Inevitably, bringing Musharraf to justice may have already forced military’s hand. For the moment Musharraf lies sick with the army, but he has also walked into the safety of army’s hands. Those who sought army’s position on the issue have it in no uncertain terms. This is a risky place. Whatever institutional balance seemed to have been restored lies at the cusp of another vulnerability. Such is the fragility of this governing structure of ours.

Why may the Rule of Law be established only through one man alone? Is it not a pervasive need across the spectrum? What of the rampant corruption; parking of ill gotten money in accounts abroad; failure to pay taxes; mis-governance; policies that only target to benefit the chosen few of the politico-economic clans? These too are crimes against humanity that remain unattended. Musharraf erred, big time, on October 12, 1999, but that isn’t even under consideration. Instead what we have is a recourse to selective justice. Deal whatever way you may with it here-on, Pakistan would have regressed
