A record of payments allegedly made to 19 senior-journalists of Pakistan, by the Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz has surfaced on the social networking site Twitter, Aaj News reported.
Renowned names of various news television anchors and journalists like Dr. Shahid Masood, Najam Sethi, Kamran Khan, Nusrat Javed, Meher Bokhari, Mubasher Lucman, Hamid Mir, Javed Chaudhry, Sana Bucha, Sohail Waraich and Asma Shirazi among a few others, are present in the lists below.
UPDATE:
Mubasher Lucman finally speaks out; resigns via YouTube.
After the embarrassing footage leak of Dunya TV’s interview of Riaz Malik, which was conducted by Mubasher Lucman and Meher Bokhari, the former Dunya TV host has come out in an unexpected manner defending his actions by rationalizing the events of the leaked footage and announced his resignation from the TV channel.
Responding to all the questions he faced in social media, Mubasher Lucman in his YouTube video, started off by saying that he ‘owes it to his family and fans’ to give an explanation regarding the leaked footage incident and his name being mentioned in the list of 19 senior Pakistani journalist who were allegedly bribed by Riaz Malik.
He said that false allegations have been made against him and his channel. Showing clips of his past TV shows and interviews he tried to rationalize the incidents that occurred during the commercial breaks of Malik Riaz interview.
Defending the phone call of Abdul Qadir Gillani, he said that receiving a call or SMS during a live show is not something that is out of the normal in Media and journalism. He then went on to play video clips of his previous shows where he is seen ‘grilling’ Ali Musa Gilani, son of Yusuf Raza Gilani and brother of Abdul Qadir Gillani also known as the ‘media-spin-doctor’ of PPP.
He revealed how a planted interview is conducted and that his show was not a “Planted Interview” in fact, it was an investigative interview. Revealing his ‘rocky relationship’ with Meher Bokhari, he taunted that this was not the right mix of journalists to conduct a planted interview. He said that him and Meher Bokhari -obviously- lacked the chemistry needed to conduct a planted interview, he said that both of them prepared separately for the interview and that every journalist in Pakistan wanted to be in his place.
He said that most guests try to pressure the host into asking questions that he or she wants to talk about. Blaming Dunya TV management for the off-air row between him and Meher Bokhari. Mubasher said that there was no angling in the interview, the only thing unfair about the interview was that he was told to do the interview with Meher Bokhari.
Mubasher Lucman raised allegations on the journalists who knew about Malik Riaz’s plans to go against the ChIEf Justice’s son. He said that people who knew about this affair months ago have not been held accountable. He said that they should be asked “Why didn’t they inform the Chief Justice about what Malik Riaz has told them 5 months ago?”
Mubasher also presented himself and his next to kin for accountability in the Supreme Court.
UPDATE: Hamid Mir ready to present himself for accountability
Renowned political talk show anchor Hamid Mir, in a private TV talk show on Friday, stated his connection with Malik Riaz was merely exaggerated as he had only met the business tycoon only twice. He further added that during both those meetings, Mir asked Malik Riaz to show him the documents regarding Arsalan Iftikhar’s case. “After witnessing the document, I was not convinced,” added Hamid Mir.
Talking about the bribery accusations and pointing towards another TV anchor, Mir added that he had been regularly targeted by a few journalists; even during the leaked interview.
“This is not the first time that I have been framed; I have been blamed to have received a villa from Malik Riaz. A couple of years earlier, I was blamed of owning a farm house near Islamabad. I have faced such baseless allegations in front of the concerned courts and have come out clean,” said the renowned TV anchor.
Talking about the fixed interview, Mir said it was a very serious issue in the form of a fixed interview to ridicule the judiciary.
Mir further stated that he would present himself for accountability whenever required. He stated that it was high time when each and every columnist, anchor and media owner should also come forward and present ‘themselves’ for proper accountability
Mir urged that a commission should be formed in order to investigate such matters. He also said that working journalists and media owners should come forward and present themselves for accountability via the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist and APNS/PBA platform.
Hamid Mir is also one of the nineteen journalists named on the alleged bribery list.

UPDATE: Hassan Nisar says that SC has taken on too many powerful enemies and that they should have finished the job when they had the chance to.
Hassan Nisar says that SC has taken on too many powerful enemies and that they should have finished the job when they had the chance to. Speaking on a social media network site, Twitter, he said that “Let SC and CJ finally find all true criminals and sentence them accordingly. Let their be full accountability for all including all media.”
In a phone interview with Kamran Khan, he further went on to say that this corruption scandal of Rs 30-40 crore is just the tip of an iceberg. Calling it a mere trivial amount compared to the gigantic amounts of corruption that goes on in Pakistan “behind the curtains”.
He said that, “certain people in Lahore city, who have good relationships with politicians make Rs50-60 crore on yearly basis”. Hassan Nisar claimed that there are many sides to this one story and soon they will all be revealed.
Hassan Nisar is one of the 19 journalists accused of taking bribes from Malik Riaz.
A Private TV channel anchor, Talat Hussain, came forward with his talk show on Friday while interpreting the leaked interview of Malik Riaz. He termed his talk show as one of the difficult most programs in his career. He said that the leaked interview seemed an attack on judiciary and it seemed ‘fishy’ right from the beginning.
Mr. Hussain critically scrutinized the off-line interview leaked on You Tube. He mentioned that it was really difficult to go over time in any particular show as time is similar to gold within the TV industry and Malik Riaz was allowed the extra time, indicating support by the management of the TV channel interviewing the business tycoon.
Talat said that the management of the private TV channel interviewing the business tycoon had severe influence over Riaz’s interview. Besides the management, as per Talat’s comments, Malik Riaz had strong authority within the entire interview and he was dictating the questions to be asked from him.
Talat termed the interview as a pre-set rehearsed interview stating that both the interviewer and the interviewee knew their questions and answers very well. He further stated that the entire off-line video illustrated as if the interview was a meeting between relatives within the guest room of a house with the only exception that questions and face expressions were intensified and changed as soon as the camera was turned on to make the show go live. Talat labeled the interview as fabricated stating that “if this interview was not fabricated and planted than there would be no interview in the world to be deemed as fabricated or planted.”
“This is not the professional way to interview a person who is defaming the judiciary of a country,” stated Talat.
Talking about the anchors of the show, Mubashar Lucman and Mehar Bukhari, Talat stated that the behavior did not seem appropriate. “No professional interview allows the guest to dictate the terms of an interview,” added Talat.
Talat in his TV show also pointed out towards two separate incidents within the leaked video whereby the association of Malik Riaz with the powerful families of Pakistan (Gilanis and the Sharifs) came as a major surprise for the people of the country.
Talat, while concluding his program, stated that he was hurt by the leaked interview as a journalist and further added that the credibility of both the judiciary and the journalists had been immensely dented by the leaked interview.
Earlier, a list of 19 journalists made a buzz within the social media and the local TV channels with respect to accusations of receiving money from Bahria town owner, Malik Riaz.
UPDATE: Dr. Shahid Masood’s quirky response to Bahria Town List accusations.
Renowned TV anchor, Dr Shahid Masood on Thursday, responded to the inclusion of his name within the list of 19 journalists alleged of being bribed by the Bahria Town owner, Malik Riaz.
According to the list, Dr. Shahid Masood, was financed for 7 trips to Dubai along with other monetary incentive. The anchor has responded to this accusation by tweeting on his personal account on the social networking website “Twitter”. He has tweeted that he is living in Dubai for the last ten years further asking Malik Riaz to blame him (Shahid Masood) in a better way in the future.
Dr. Masood has also pointed out in his tweet that a media guy was involved in bringing up the list and that particular media guy was on the payroll of Malik Riaz.
Dr. Masood also opined that PTI was not involved in bringing up the list and that a close aide (having strong media affiliation) of Malik Riaz was the main actor in the entire scenario.

The notorious “Media Gate” scandal involving business tycoon Malik Riaz and private TV anchors Mehar Bukari and Mubahsar Lucman has created a wave within the nation. Many questions have been posed with a finger being pointed onto the credibility of journalists.Almost 19 journalist are mentioned on the so-called “Media Gate” list.
Mehar Bukhari, the main accused in the video leaked on YouTube, came forward with a TV program show on Thursday. The private TV anchor, during her TV show, clarified her position while labeling the video posting on the internet as an act of robbery.
Mehar Bukhari said that is a normal ritual within the media industry to listen to the demands of the guest who is being interviewed. “Whoever comes to an interview do have their own requirements, they want to be asked certain questions and we as anchors have to oblige them,” said Mehar.
“If the interview was planted, then why me and Lucman had to co-ordinate the entire program during the break of the live show. If it was a planted interview, it should have been planned way earlier,” stated Mehar Bukhari
Mehar Bukhari added that her name on the letter head of Bahria Town would be investigated and the other journalists mentioned on the list would also take appropriate action against the accusations. She added that the entire list of journalists, after proper legal consultation, may file for defamation against Malik Riaz and she in person would go to court against the business tycoon
Qamar Zaman Kaira was brought in to help with the clarification of Mehar Bukhari. The Federal Information Minister stated that during breaks of live TV programs, politicians and journalist chat normally, joking as if conversing with friends. This is because they know each other quiet well.
Kaira further stated that this interview could not have been planned because if the program would have been planted then why the two anchor, Mehar and Mubashir, were found arguing with each other with respect to the pattern and the questions to be asked during the talk show.
Kaira attested Mehar’s claim that questions are asked on the request of the guest and the anchors of such talk shows do oblige these requests, stating it to be a normal procedure.
The video posting on the internet was deemed illegal and unconstitutional by Kaira.
Khawaja Mohammad Asif was also called upon during the show and he also defended Mehar Bukhari by stating that although a nexus seemed somewhat visible between Lucman, Malik Riaz and Abdul Qadir Gilani; Mehar Bukhari seemed a victim to fall under the eclipse of the entire scenario.
Mehar Bukari ended her clarification by adding that she did not receive any instructions with respect to the questions, the only instructions that she was given was no to harass the guest and give him space to talk freely. She added that normal discussions were made during the interview; such discussions are a normal routine work during such interviews. She finally swore that neither her management nor ‘she in person’ were involved in planting the interview.
“If I lie or if I have received a single penny or a single yard of any land from Malik Riaz, may Allah reveal His wrath upon me,” she added.
UPDATE: Kamran Khan has denied the allegations brought forward against him.
After the leaked videos of Mubasher Lucman and Meher Bukhari’s live show with Malik Riaz became public via YouTube. A feeling of confusion and mistrust has taken over the country. It wasn’t just the leaked footage that manifested this political sandstorm which has forced every powerful and influential man or woman in Pakistan to sit duck and let it pass.
Breaking this newly formed pattern, one of the most senior journalist of Pakistan, Kamran Khan went live on TV last night and gave his point of view about the “MediaGate” scandal.
On his live TV show Aaj Kamran Khan Kay Saath, Kamran Khan denied the allegations that he has been paid by the real estate kingpin, Malik Riaz, who is the owner of Bahria Town Housing Scheme and accuser, in Arsalan Iftikhar graft case.
Kamran Khan kicked off by firstly suggesting that the people of Pakistan should calm down and grab this window of opportunity to hold everyone accountable once in for all.
He said, “Why not start with accountability of media first” followed by clipped recordings of the leaked footage of Meher-Lucman show.
He presented key parts of the leaked footage in his show where Meher and Lucman are clearly seen taking instructions from both PPP and PMLN “spin-doctors”, while repetitively trying to exceed each other in Malik Riaz’s good books.
After airing the footage Kamran Khan said that, “as media representative, our heads are held down in shame.”
With a smirk-like tone of voice Kamran Khan aired a key moment in the footage where Meher Bukhari refers to him and his colleague Hamid Mir by saying that she didn’t care what the “Hamids and Kamrans” were getting (as bribe).
Kamran Khan then proposed Accountability of every institutions, claiming that a better opportunity will not come again. He said that Media should be held accountable first and that he presents himself for accountability before anyone else.
He proposed that the time has come when Media, Lawyers, Politicians, Judges and Army Generals should be accountable for their actions. He went on to claim that he is willing to be the first media personality to submit his own financial records and even of people related or close to him.
He also mentioned that people will be gravely shocked if he revealed the names of journalists who claimed to fight against dictators, but at the same time were having the time of their life by going on foreign trips with the same dictators.
Kamran Khan went on to suggest a board of people who will judge and hold everyone accountable. He proposed the names of former Supreme Court judge, (retd) Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid, (retd) Justice Fakhruddin Ibrahim and former Foreign Minister Dr Mubashir Hassan.
Kamran Khan assured his fans and followers that he was innocent of the allegations brought against him and proclaimed that if every media personality was held accountable a very few would turn out to be “cleaner” than him. However he did not talk about or mention the list.
The list that features names of 19 most senior journalists of Pakistani News Television industry, also includes Kamran Khan’s name in it. Names of nineteen senior-journalists are in that list along with the alleged payments and “gifts” given to them supposedly in return for Media related favors by Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz.
Nusrat Javed and Mushtaq Minhas, two of the 19 accused journalists, went live on Aaj Tv last night and denied the bribery allegations against them by announcing the leaked list as a fake list.
Nusrat Javed in a taunty-sarcastic manner read out the record of transactions from the list and said that it is all a conspiracy fabricated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) Media Cell and called them “Cyber-Bullies”.
In a rowdy change of mood, he expressed his outrage over the Social Media activists of PTI. Anger and loud allegations took over the show for a while, as Mushtaq Minhas kept mumbling incomplete words trying to settle Nusrat Javed down.
Nusrat Javed challenged the PTI to ask their party member Sarwar Khan from Taxila, to hold a press conference and say that Malik Riaz has a “flawed character”.
“They will never do it” he claimed.
Nusrat claimed that he knew who was behind these allegations and that he doesn’t need the police or the courts to help him, he will fight his own fight and deal with those people all by himself.
In response to Nusrat Javed’s angry allegations, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf posted a reply to Nusrat Javedon their website, stating that PTI had nothing to do with the leaked list of journalists and that the party respects the senior journalists and had no interest in maligning their names.

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided in principle to revive all the corruption references pending against Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and other members of their family which had been adjourned indefinitely in December 2000 after the Sharifs signed an exile deal with the Musharraf regime and left Pakistan for Saudi Arabia.
According to well-informed NAB officials, of the three corruption references currently pending against Nawaz Sharif and his family members, NAB would first take up the case titled ‘State Vs Hudabiya Paper Mills (Pvt) Ltd’ in which nine members of the Sharif family are accused of committing money laundering to the tune of Rs642.743 million.
According to the NAB findings, the Sharif family members allegedly deposited ill-gotten money in fake accounts which were opened in other persons’ names and used the money from these accounts to pay off loans of the defaulting Sharif companies. Mian Muhammad Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Mian Abbas Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, Hamza Shahbaz, Mrs Shamim Akhtar (mother of Nawaz Sharif), Mrs Sabiha Abbas, Mrs Maryam Safdar (daughter of Nawaz Sharif) and the former finance minister of the Sharif cabinet, Ishaq Dar, are the main accused in the Hudabiya Paper Mills reference.
As per law, the NAB will have to file an application before the accountability court for reopening of the corruption references, which is set to open a Pandora’s box for the Sharif brothers, in view of a 43-page hand-written statement recorded by Senator Ishaq Dar and accusing the Sharifs of involvement in money laundering.
As per the statement which Ishaq Dar had recorded before a Lahore district magistrate on April 25, 2000, the Sharif brothers used the Hudaibya Paper Mills as cover for money laundering during the late 1990s. Dar’s statement was recorded as part of the Musharraf regime’s plans to file a money laundering reference against Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif. However, the reference was shelved after the Sharif family opted for self exile in 2000, once they came to know that their trusted Ishaq Dar has turned approver against them.
Ishaq Dar’s confessional statement against the Sharif brothers was reportedly recorded before a district magistrate in Lahore, after he was brought to the court from a jail by Basharat Shahzad, then serving as assistant director in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
NAB circles say Ishaq Dar’s deposition is an irrevocable statement because it had been recorded under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Ishaq Dar now happens to be high-profile PML-N leader who has always been considered close to the Sharif brothers. Senator Ishaq Dar’s son, Ali Dar, is married to Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Asma Nawaz.
Dar had confessed in his 43-page statement: “I opened two foreign currency accounts in the name of Sikandara Masood Qazi and Talat Masood Qazi with the foreign currency funds provided by the Sharif family in the Bank of America by signing as Sikandara Masood Qazi and Talat Masood Qazi. All instructions to the bank in the name of these two persons were signed by me under the orders of original depositors, namely Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif. The foreign currency accounts of Nuzhat Gohar and Kashif Masood Qazi were opened in Bank of America by Naeem Mehmood under my instructions (based on the directives of the Sharifs) by signing the same as Nuzhat Gohar and Kashif Masood Qazi”.
According to Dar’s confessional statement, besides these foreign currency accounts, a previously opened foreign currency account of Saeed Ahmed, a former director of First Hajvari Modaraba Company and close friend of Dar, and of Mussa Ghani, the nephew of Dar’s wife, were also used to deposit huge foreign currency funds provided by the Sharif family to offer them as collateral to obtain different direct and indirect credit lines. Dar had further conceded that the Bank of America, Citibank, Atlas Investment Bank, Al Barka Bank and Al Towfeek Investment Bank were used under the directives of the Sharif family. Interestingly enough, Dar also implicated himself by confessing before the district magistrate that he – along with his friends Kamal Qureshi and Naeem Mehmood – had opened fake foreign currency accounts in different international banks.
The News made frantic efforts to approach Ishaq Dar and after making several phone calls the brief response received from Mr Dar stated: “This is all rubbish. The Hudabiya Paper Mills case is nothing but trash. The matter is sub judice in the High Court and facts would be known to public in due course. All transactions were duly reported to the State Bank of Pakistan as per law of the land”.
However, a senior PML-N leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the credibility of a confessional statement recorded under pressure and coercion, and that too by the officials of a military regime, will always be doubtful and remain questionable.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik has already taken up the same money laundering case at a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday. Giving details about the scam, he said the Hudabiya Paper Mills Limited, owned by the Sharif family, entered into a leasing contract with M/s Al Towfeek Company for investment funds under the laws of the Cayman Islands on February 15, 1995 for lease of paper manufacturing machinery. The leasing price was $12.046 million. Rehman Malik said Shahbaz Sharif and Abbas Sharif and another, provided guarantee in writing to pay jointly and severally to the leasing company, all sums due against the Hudabiya Paper Mills under any agreement up to a maximum of $10 million with all profits and charges. On February 15, 1995, Shahbaz Sharif provided a further guarantee to pay on demand to the leasing company any such due against the Hudabiya Paper Mills up to a maximum of $12.046 million together with all profits and charges.
As the Hudabiya Paper Mills Limited failed to pay back the amount, M/s Al Towfeek Company served a demand on the Sharif family members on July 31, 1998 to repay the sum. However, all the three guarantors failed to honour their guarantees and to make payment on behalf of their company. Subsequently, on March 18, 1999, the High Court of Justice, Queens Bench Division (London) ordered the Sharifs to jointly pay a sum of $32.5 million (around Rs1.7 billion) to Al-Towfeek Company for Funds Ltd, the investment company from which they had taken a loan for Hudabiya Paper Mills Ltd. The London High Court passed the ex-parte order as the defendants – Hudabiya Paper Mills Ltd, Mian Mohammad Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, and Abbas Sharif – had not defended themselves in the court.

What Shaikh Saadi Shirazi said about Nawaz Sharif and his Kashmiri Biradari, including Khaja Asif rings true to this day.
Khaja Asif today appeared in Hamid Mir’s. Through mutual banter Hamid Mir, a Kashmiri, provided a fig-leaf to Khaja Asif to backtrack and soften his tone.
Hamid Mir insulted the intellectual capabilities of 180 Million Pakistanis by talking down to them in a typical patronizing manner.
Does this ghadaar Hamid Mir, a “Kashmiri Hathoo,” think Pakistanis are stupid?
Does he think Pakistanis are not on to his game?
Pakistani Army has Fought for Azadi of Kashmir for 65 years and lost thousands of its soldiers in Kashmir.
But, Badzaat Kashmiri Nawaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif are rewarding Pakistani Army by demonizing it.
Nawaz Sharif’s main sycophant or chamcha Khaja Asif is the man in-charge of demonization of Pakistan Army.
As a Kashmiri,he has lived up to his Bazaat Reputation.
Nawaz Sharif made him as Defence Minister to use him as his Junkyard Dog against Pakistan Army.
After appointing a Hijra Raheel Sharif(only a half-hearted whimper of protest came from this “sifarishi tuttwo” COAS).
Nawaz Sharif knows that he can say whatever he wants to weaken Pakistan Army, because his mule the COAS will go wherever Nawaz shoves his danda in him.
This will be Nawaz Sharif’s service to his US masters, who want to destroy Pakistan Army (little knowing that it will backfire,
as all the fanatic demons will let loose in whole of South Asia.).Who can talk sense to US, which goes from one ill-fated foreign policy decision to another.
manipulated the election to bring him in power. The lead manipulator representing was the CIA asset Najam Sethi. Nawaz rewarded him with keeping the plump, graft ridden PCB chairmanship.
Birds of a feather flock together.Kashmiri Nawaz Sharif is using a Kashmiri Khawaja Asif to do his dirty work to weaken the role of Pakistan Army. And create a divide between the Army and people of Pakistan. This is in support of Nawaz Sharif’s dream of becoming the first President of United India or Akhand Bharat.A role promised to him by Clinton and ManMohan Singh.
From now on, no matter how many shaheeds Pakistan Army has, Nawaz Will demean Pakistan Army till he destroys its battlefield morale.
Nawaz Sharif,if not stopped now, will eventually destroy Pakistan.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The participants of corps commander conference presided by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday expressed displeasure over statement made by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. Others matters that came under discussion include; review of internal and external security, terrorist attack in Rawalpindi, and determination to strengthen democracy, Dunya News reported.
According to Dunya News sources, Army Chief will meet Prime Minister upon his return from China visit to discuss concerns. Khawaja Asif’s statements were seen with displeasure in the meeting.
The corps commander conference that took place at General Headquarters Rawalpindi reviewed internal and external security situations of the country, Pak Army’s operational preparations and professional skills of the forces.
Sources said that the issue of fingers pointed towards army by some elements was also discussed.
The session also reviewed the ongoing Taliban negotiation process and its developments so far.
According to sources, the participants also exchanged views over post-elections situation in Afghanistan.
Khawaja Asif’s statement:
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had said that the Parliament is supreme institution and no institution should violate sanctity of other one.
Addressing during the session of the National Assembly on Tuesday, he said every institution protects its dignity and its personnel, but Parliament is the supreme institution of the country.
The minister’s remarks came a day after army chief General Raheel Sharif’s statement in which he had said that army would resolutely preserve its institutional pride and dignity.
“While our country is faced with multiple internal and external challenges, Pakistan Army upholds the sanctity of all institutions and will resolutely preserve its own dignity and institutional pride,” the COAS said while responding to the concerns of soldiers on undue criticism of the institution in recent days, ISPR said on Monday.
The army chief expressed these views while speaking to soldiers during his visit to Headquarters of Special Service Group (SSG) at Ghazi Base Tarbela, ISPR said in a statement.
The Army Chief paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices of the SSG soldiers and officers and acknowledged their tremendous success while fighting against terrorists.
He said, Pakistan Army takes pride in our brave and battle hardened Special Services Group who are ranked among the top elite forces of the world.
Given the specialized nature of their employment in the most sensitive, complex and challenging environment, COAS praised them for their outstanding professional skills.
Speaking to SSG officers and soldiers, General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan Army never has and never will shy away from rendering any sacrifice in ensuring a formidable defense and security of the motherland.
Drawing its strength from national support, with its characteristic coherence and resilience, Pakistan Army has contributed immensely towards national security and nation building and will continue to deliver on its mission,
the COAS added.

1. 1. CORRUPTION CASES Nawaz Sharif and his cronies have always been working to plunder Pakistan’s wealth as their sole agenda. He expanded his business empire by misusing his authority as Chief Minister Punjab and Prime Minister Pakistan. And in order to gain financial benefits, he manipulated laws and changed policies. Likewise, in a bid to avoid accountability, the Nawaz Sharif Government amended “The Ehtasaab Act” and made it effective from “1990” instead of “1985” as proposed in the original text of the “Ehtasaab Act” prepared by the interim government of caretaker Prime Minister (Late) Mairaj Khalid (1996-97). And by bringing this change he cunningly saved his tenure of Chief Minister Punjab (1985-88) from accountability. Despite all maneuvering following references were filed against the Sharifs: –
1.Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and others misused official resources causing a loss to the national exchequer of Rs 620million by developing 1800 acres of land in Raiwind at state expense.
1.2. FINANCIAL GAINS BY USING HIS AUTHORITY AS PRIME MINISTER
The first tenure of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister in the year 1990 saw another reign of loot and plunder. During this period Mian Nawaz Shairif obtained loans amounting to more than Rs.614 billion from Banks through his influence against inadequate guarantees. According to the details of loans obtained by Sharifs include Rs.1556 million for Ittefaq Foundries, Rs. 543 million for Haseeb Waqas Sugar Mills, Rs.455 million for Mehran Ramzan Textile Mills, Rs.373 million for Ramzan Bukhsh Textile Mills, Rs.339 millions for Ch. Sugar Mills, Rs.226 millions for Ittefaq brothers, Rs. 205 million for Sandalbar Textile Mills, Rs.182 million for Hudaibiya Engineering Mills, Rs.153 million for Hamza Board Mills Ltd, Rs.134 million for Hudaibiya paper Mills, Rs.351 Million for Brothers Sugar Mills, Rs.174 million for Brothers Textile Mills, Rs.159 million for Brothers Steel Mills, Rs.623 million for Ramzan Sugar Mills, Rs. 191 million Khalid Siraj Textiles, Rs.313 million for Ittefaq Sugar Mills, Rs.164 million for Ittefaq Textile Mills, and Rs.239 million were obtained for Ittefaq Brothers. Due to the malpractice the national wealth was used for establishing personal empire while the country’s economy was facing disaster. This loan was equivalent to the total internal loan obtained by the government of Pakistan! These so called patriotic politicians ruthlessly plundered the national exchequer and used national wealth for personal financial gains. In addition money laundering worth billions of dollars through illegal means, wheat import scam, awarding motorway’s contract to an internationally black listed company, receiving heavy loans despite of being defaulter, secret businesses in UK (Evidence attached), Sugar mills in Kenya and four flats in the most expensive area of London and huge commissions in privatization of Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) are also a few “achievements” of Nawaz Sharif and family.
1.3. THE AUDITOR GENERAL REPORT
The Auditor General Report released in the year 1988-89 reported that Nawaz Sharif, misusing his authority as Chief Minister Punjab, issued directives which resulted into direct malpractice of Rs. 35 billion. The report said that the Chief Minister Secretariat had been turned into a hub of corrupt practices and Nawaz Sharif used public money like an emperor that resulted into huge fiscal deficit of the province. The Auditor General Report released in the year 1986-87 said that the then Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif had used Rs. 1200 million for malpractices in only one year. Nawaz Sharif allotted 3000 precious Lahore Development Authority (LDA) plots among his favourites due to which the province suffered loss of billions of rupees. Nawaz Sharif was the lead character of the Cooperative and Financial Institutions Scam, which deprived the retired employees, orphans, widows, and poor of their total assets amounting to Rs. 17 billion. Nawaz Sharif released Rs. 1200 million from his discretionary grant in the year 1985-86 while Rs. 1895 million were released in 1986-87, Rs. 1899 million were used in 1987-88 while another Rs. 1887 million were distributed among his cronies.
1.4. RELATIONS WITH THE TERRORISTS
Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and other party leaders practically share and proudly identify commonalities between PML-N and Taliban and they have very close ties and cordial relations with terrorists and banned terrorist outfits. In early 90s Nawaz Sharif received huge sums of money from Osama Bin Laden to overthrow former Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s Government. Even now PML-N’s cabinet members and spokespersons are commonly seen hanging around with members of those banned outfits, reportedly involved in managing terrorist attacks on thousands of innocent Pakistanis including soldiers, police officials and members of other law enforcement agencies. Due to compromising attitude of PML-N’s leadership and their mild will to fight against the menace of terrorism the members of law enforcement agencies are completely demoralized. That is one of the reasons that the investigations against terrorists are not carried out in a proper manner and proof against arrested terrorists usually is not available. Due to the incapability of the Punjab Government terrible terrorist attacks took place in the province including suicide attack on Police Training School Bedian Road, blast in Moon Market Lahore, car bomb blast in the Rescue 15 building, car bomb blast in F.I.A building, suicide attack on Munawan Police Training Center, Model Town link road bomb blast, suicide attack on Jamia Naemia, terrorist attack on Ahmedi’s worship places, blasts in Imam Bargahs including Karbla Gammay Shah and suicide bomb blasts in the sacred shrine of Hazrat Data Gunj Buksh along with many others. After these attacks PML-N has morally lost its right of government in Punjab. Further, it was Shahbaz Sharif, who instead of showing courage and political and moral will to fight against the enemies of Pakistan, in his speech in Jamia Naemia Lahore, begged for mercy from the terrorists. He, in a very disgraceful manner, requested them not to attack Punjab as they are likeminded and standing on the same side. This statement of Shahbaz Sharif reflects his mindset!
1.5. CONSPIRACIES AGAINST DEMOCRACY
Nawaz Sharif and Co. has always been involved in destabilizing the democratic system by one way or the other and did not even hesitate to take bribes to grab power. Lt. General (R) Naseerullah Babar, the former Interior Minister had disclosed in the National Assembly in 1994, that the ISI had disbursed money to purchase the loyalty of various right wing politicians, including that of Nawaz Sharif, in order to manipulate the 1990 elections, for the Islamic Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI- Pakistan democratic alliance), and bring about the defeat of the PPP. As proof Lt. General (R) Naseerullah Babar, Lt. General (R) Asad Durrani and others have filed affidavits supported by copies of various documents. In Air Marshal Asghar Khan’s human rights petition (HRC 19/96) in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the former Chief of Army Staff Mirza Aslam Baig and the former Chief of the ISI and a banker concerning the criminal distribution of the people’s money for political purposes. The case is pending adjudication in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the last 14 years. 1. 6. DECEIT AND LYING Nawaz Sharif’s politics is based on the philosophy “lie repeatedly till it seems as the truth”. He has based his politics on deceit and lies. Nawaz Sharif and his “chellaz” believe in lying repeatedly and religiously follow their convictions in this regard. They are masters in the art of manipulation and alteration and use their wealth to achieve their goals. One example is enough to expose their hideous character. After conviction in the hijacking case, Nawaz Sharif and his family approached foreign friends who persuaded President Pervez Musharraf to have mercy and forgive them. Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and family sought pardon and signed agreements including a commitment not to participate in politics for a period of ten years but they kept lying and hid the existence of these agreements from the nation until the head of Saudi Arabian Secret Agency, Prince Miqran Bin Abdul Aziz and Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr. Saad Hariri’s unveiled the existence of these agreements and Ch. Nisar had to admit the existence of these agreements during the press conference of Javed Hashmi. Sharif brothers in return of Pervez Musharraf’s “Ehsaan” (generosity) have not only crossed all limits of hostility but also lied to the nation. Would Nawaz Sharif and his “chellaz” ever tender apology to the Pakistani Nation, for lying to them for so many years?
1.7. POLICE STATE
Under the horrible times of Shahbaz Sharif’s Government the Punjab province has been virtually converted in to a “Badmaash” (rogue) province. Here police officials get involved in heinous and brutal criminal activities like one in Sialkot. The administration did not take any action against the shameful and atrocious lynching of two young brothers until the footage was telecast on electronic channels. It is believed that only in Gujranwala Division, where a brother of PML (N) MNA was deputed as head of police department, more than two hundred extra judicial killings have taken place. The record shows that in Punjab, police force has been continuously used to harass and insult political rivals. An endless campaign of lodging false FIRs against political opponents has also been initiated. Use of brutal police force and baton-charge has become a routine. Every segment of society including journalists, doctors, teachers, students, nurses, Government employees, semi Government and private institutions and lawyers have faced the brutality of police while protesting for their demands.
1.8. POOR GOVERNANCE & MALADMINISTRATION
It is a hard fact that poor governance & maladministration is trademark of Sharif brothers. Shahbaz Sharif is an attention-seeker and likes to show off. For the sake of “cheap publicity” he has started calling himself “Khadam-e-Ala” but miserably failed to meet the challenges of governance and administration. It’s a harsh reality that during his tenure in Punjab all institutions deteriorated conspicuously. In order to achieve their motives, Sharifs always appoint their blue-eyed personnel on key posts by completely ignoring merit. Almost all districts of Punjab are being run by grade 19 officers who are incapable hence a basic reason for poor governance. Due to his dictatorial approach Shahbaz Sharif himself heads 12 provincial ministries and he seldom holds cabinet meeting. He takes decisions over ruling, the cabinet. His obstinate behavior is the prime reason for the maladministration in the province. It would be just and appropriate to suggest that Sharifs have failed to establish a democratic spirit in their government and have completely overlooked the norms of democratic political setups.
1.9. CRIMINAL ASSAULT ON THE SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN
In order to consolidate and attain more power, ‘the champion of democracy and independent judiciary’, Nawaz Sharif attacked every individual and institution; he felt could get in the way and challenge his authority. In order to get rid of Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, who Nawaz Sharif despised, the latter created divisions amongst the judges using the humble services of a former judge, Rafique Tarrar (later President of Pakistan) to make life difficult for the Chief Justice. A group of judges refused to acknowledge CJ Sajjad Ali Shah as the Chief Justice and things got so bad that a number of junior judges made it difficult for him to carry out his duties. Eventually, Sharif ordered his thugs to attack the Supreme Court in order to prevent the Chief Justice from giving a ruling against him. The police did nothing to stop Sharif’s thugs as they attacked and entered the Supreme Court premises. The judges inside the building barely managed to escape. The thugs, led by Sajjad Naseem and Mushtaq Tahir Kheli, Nawaz Sharif’s political secretaries, entered the court chanting anti-CJ Sajjad slogans and destroyed the Court Room. 1. 10. CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE PRESS AND JOURNALISTS A number of incidents during 1998-99 indicated a pattern of harassment and intimidation of individual journalists as the government was increasingly becoming intolerant. Imtiaz Alam, a Lahore-based journalist, complains of threats over the telephone and then of his car being set on fire in a mysterious manner the next day. Another Lahore journalist, Mahmud Lodhi, was picked up and held in illegal custody for two days. He was questioned about his involvement with a BBC team filming a documentary on the rise and wealth of the Sharif family. Present Pakistani ambassador in USA Mr. Hussain Haqqani was picked up in a cloak-and-dagger fashion and interrogated at a FIA Center for money embezzlement while he held government office. The residence of Idrees Bakhtiar, a senior staff reporter of monthly Herald and BBC correspondent in Karachi was raided by CIA police on Nov. 26, 1998. The police harassed the family and also arrested his 28-year old son, Moonis, who was later released. On Feb. 13, 1999, three persons, including Senator Abdul Hayee Baloch and a lady worker from Lahore, were injured when the police baton-charged, used water cannons and threw bricks on a peaceful procession of the Pakistan Awami Ittehad in front of the parliament house in Islamabad. The march, organized by the PAI for the freedom of the press, was led by PAI president Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan (late), the then opposition leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and secretary general of the alliance Hamid Nasir Chatta, besides a number of sitting and former PPP MNAs and senators. The owner of the Frontier Post, Rehmat Shah Afridi, was arrested in Lahore on April 2, 1999, by the Anti-narcotics Force. The Peshawar-based Frontier Post was critical of government policies. Afridi’s arrest was seen by journalists and others as another attempt to gag the Press. On May 8, 1999, Najam Sethi, Editor of The Friday Times, was arrested on the orders of Nawaz Sharif. Police stormed into his house in Lahore and dragged him out of his bedroom. After brutal torture and breaking furniture of the house he was shifted to some unknown place. And before leaving the house with Mr. Sethi, they tied his wife Jugnoo’s hands with a rope and locked her up in a dressing room. Later, Nawaz Sharif asked COAS Gen. Musharraf to charge Mr. Sethi under the Pakistan Army Act for being a traitor and gives him maximum punishment (maximum punishment is death!). The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), a press freedom organization, said on June 1, 1999 that it was conducting an investigation into a “hit list” prepared by the Pakistan government that contains 35 prominent journalists of Pakistan. According to reports received by the CPJ, the federal government had decided to establish a special media cell comprising officials from the police, Intelligence Bureau and the Federal Investigation Agency to punish the journalists, who had been writing against the government. Ehtesab Bureau Chairman, Senator Saifur Rehman Khan was to head this cell which would function from Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar with its head office in Islamabad. According to the CPJ, the journalists were: Irshad Ahmed Haqqani (late), Rehmat Ali Razi, Anjum Rasheed, (writer and anchor person) Suhail Warraich, Sohaib Marghoob and (late) Roman Ehsan (Jang Lahore), M. Ziauddin (Dawn Islamabad), Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, Javed Jaidi, Nusrat Javeed, Mariana Babar and Ansaar Abbassi (The News, Islamabad), Rehana Hakeem and Zahid Hussain (Newsline), Ejaz Haider, Khalid Ahmed, Jugnu Mohsin and Adnan Adil (The Friday Times, Lahore), Mahmood Sham (Jang, Karachi), Rashed Rehman (The Nation, Lahore), Amir Ahmed Khan (Herald, Karachi), Imtiaz Aalam, Beena Sarwar, Shafiq Awan, Kamila Hyat and Amir Mir (The News Lahore), Abbas Athar (Nawa-e-Waqt, Lahore), Kamran Khan and Shehzad Amjad (The News Karachi), Azam Khalil (Pulse), Mohammad Malik (Tribune), Imtiaz Ahmed (The Frontier Post, Peshawar), Ilyas Chaudhry (Jang Rawalpindi), Naveed Meraj (The Frontier Post, Islamabad) and Syed Talat Hussain (The Nation, Islamabad). The Government of Nawaz Sharif started a campaign against the Jang group in July 1998 when it refused to sack a number of journalists critical of Government policies. The government objected to the Jang group newspapers’ reporting about the law and order situation in the country and put a ban on advertisement. On August 13, a report was published about non-payment of Rs. 700 million to farmers by the sugar mills owned by the Nawaz Sharif family. Three days later, the government sent notices to Jang for non-payment of taxes and the case was shifted to the Ehtesab cell. On September 27, 1998, the Government asked the Jang group not to publish a report of ‘The Observer London’ that Nawaz Sharif had siphoned off millions of rupees. The report was not published by the Jang but it was published by its sister English newspaper The News. On November 5, bank accounts of the Jang group were frozen and FIA raided the Jang and the News offices in Rawalpindi and customs authorities stopped delivery of newsprint to the Jang. On Jan 28 1999, a sedition case was registered against Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman for publishing an advertisement of Muttahida’s Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation on January 1, which according to the police, was aimed at inciting people against the state. Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman revealed that Senator Saif-ur-Rehman asked him to sack a number of Jang employees who should be replaced in consultation with the Government. He released to the press audiotapes of conversation with Saif-ur-Rehman on this issue. Saif-ur-Rehman accused Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman for evading tax and customs duty to the tune of Rs. 2.6 billion. The hostility of Sharifs towards media is also evident from the fact that in the parliamentary history of Pakistan for the first time a resolution, condemning the media, was tabled (by a group of MPAs belonging to Nawaz League) and passed in the Punjab Assembly. 1. 11. DESTABILIZATION OF INSTITUTIONS There is probably no institution in Pakistan, which Nawaz Sharif did not aggressively confront in order to make them comply with his wishes. Besides picking a fight with the President, the Judiciary and the restricted/limited media of that time, Sharif also decided to have a confrontation with the army, the only viable institution left in Pakistan. Due to his hostile and dumb approach in Nawaz Sharif’s first term as prime minister, he fell out with three successive army chiefs: General Mirza Aslam Beg, General Asif Nawaz and General Abdul Waheed Kakar. During his second tenure, he fell out with two other Generals, General Karamat and later with General Pervez Musharraf. General Karamat became the first Chief of Army Staff in the history of Pakistan to have been prematurely retired! One by one all challenges and potential obstacles to his dictatorial mindset were removed from his way by Nawaz Sharif. Ghulam Ishaq Khan, Farooq Leghari, Sajjad Ali Shah, and General Jehangir Karamat were all removed from the scene by Nawaz Sharif. 1. 12. Ill-CONSIDERED ECONOMIC DECISIONS Nawaz Sharif’s ill-considered economic decisions cost Pakistan dearly! But the Sharif family’s personal business empire grew exponentially through questionable means. Nawaz Sharif, during his tenure as Chief Minister Punjab from 1988-90, deprived the provincial departments of Rs. 15.35 billion. In addition in 1997-99 he caused huge loss amounting in 11 billion US dollars to private account holders by freezing foreign currency accounts contrary to the law and constitution wherein he and his cronies managed to get away with huge sums even after the freeze. Billions of dollars were removed from the banks without the permission/consent of the account holders but the accounts of common Pakistanis were withheld. In last two and half years, Shahbaz Sharif wasted more than 40 billion rupees in “Sasti Roti” and other subsidized food schemes that had been initiated to earn cheap popularity and to benefit their political supporters. Admittedly these funds have been distributed amongst their own supporters without any audit just to gain political mileage. A huge chunk of these funds has been disbursed by the ghost “Tandurs” (burners) owners. Inflation and un-employment is rocketing day by day due to the ill-conceived decisions of the provincial government. This is one of the reasons that Punjab could not help flood victims at the time because they had utilized their funds in senseless politically motivated schemes and now have an overdraft amounting Rs. 80 billion.
1.13. SELLING KASHMIR CA– — USE TO VAJPAYEE IN 1999 AND HUMILATING ARMED FORCES IN USA, DURING KARGIL
The so-called son of soil Nawaz Sharif virtually sold Kashmir in 1999 during Indian PM’s visit to Lahore. Nawaz Sharif deleted the word Kashmir from the joint declaration to please Indian counterpart. By crossing all the limits of treachery and falsehood Nawaz Sharif and his cronies claim that Pakistan armed forces lost the Kargil war. In fact, due to the decisions of Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan lost this war in the drawing room of the American President after wining it in the battlefield. 1. 14. ATOMIC EXPLOSIONS It is a proven fact that in 1998 Nawaz Sharif was double-minded about the atomic explosions. While the nation waited breathlessly for a befitting reply to India, Nawaz Sharif was busy in negotiating economic packages with US Government. Gohar Ayub Khan, who was foreign minister at that time, has also corroborated this fact in his book. (Courtesy: http://jhootaylog.wordpress.com/nawaz-sharifs-corruption/)
(11) Nawaz Sharif imposes his relative, as leaders in the government in his “constituency” are very corrupt.

Nawaz Sharif’s Son in Law Investing Billions in UAE
1.Dubai: HDS Tower in Cluster F of Jumeirah Lakes Tower is only one of the 34 story buildings that belong to the mighty HDS Group. The News Tribe learnt that several other buildings in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Business Bay and International City, like the HDS Sunstar Towers, are also owned by the millionaire brothers, surprisingly Pakistanis. The owners of HDS Group, Ali Dar and Hasnain Dar, are none other than the sons of former finance minister of Pakistan, Senator Ishaq Dar. It’s worth mentioning here that the elder son Ali Dar is also the son-in-law of Pakistan Muslim League’s leader Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. Apart from several real estate ventures, The HDS Group also launched HDS Rent a Car, JLT a month back in July 2012. Senator Ishaq Dar’s son Ali Dar takes the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 for the inaugural run. The uniqueness of the car rental company lies in its array of niche car manufacturers and models of cars unavailable to the market. HDS Rent a Car owns the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, Mercedes Benz SLS 63 AMG Gullwing, apart from the more economy cars such as Peugeots and Renaults. Some of the many exotic, luxury and SUVs in the lineup are the Ferrari Berlinetta F12 and the McLaren F1, and you can do the numbers yourself! The owners from a ‘poor and starving’ country Pakistan, where the average monthly income for an individual is $41, are offering such exotic services in Dubai, which even the local Emiratis fail to afford. Madhu Bhindari, the Indian Billionaire who invested money in Dubai with Pakistani politicians. Sources further told The News Tribe that the story does not end here; another Finance Minister from the Nawaz Sharif Government, made hundreds of real estate transactions with Madhu Bhindari, an Indian billionaire entrepreneur, who is on a run-away from Dubai, after losing 150 million dirhams in the 2008 crisis. However, the finance minister’s buildings and investments are still there, earning a hefty income. A Pakistani real estate agent, who claimed to carry out transactions for a serving government officer in Sindh Government, told The News Tribe that a lot of Pakistani bureaucrats and politicians have properties worth millions in Dubai. “The son of a serving government officer from Sindh government invested a huge amount of money in real estate here in 2008, and I carried out transactions for him,” the agent claimed. “Where are these politicians getting the money from?” asked a frustrated Pakistani in Dubai, who came to know that the building he lived in is owned by Ali and Hasnain Dar’s HDS Group. “If they have billions of dollars and so much money, why is it not in Pakistan? These politicians talk about the welfare of Pakistani people, but all they can think about is themselves!” Previously, Director Swiss Bank had stated that Pakistan has around 97 billion dollars only in Swiss Banks. But, it seems that Pakistani politicians and businessmen have more than 97 billion dollars outside Swiss Banks, invested in various countries and financial hubs like Dubai. According to the Swiss Bank director, if the money is utilized for the welfare of Pakistan and its people, then Pakistan can make tax free budget for next 30 years, can create 60 million jobs, can carpet four lanes road from any village to Islamabad, provide endless power supply, every citizen can earn Rs. 20,000 salary for the next 60 years and there is no need to take loans from IMF or World Bank. http://www.thenewstribe.com/2012/08/11/we-are-billionaires-let-pakistanis-suffer/#.UChcB6CuV06
Nawaz Sharif who awards road contract at five times the actual cost and yet the roads are never completed is very corrupt like the Rawalpindi -Peshawar Motorway.
$418m corruption by Nawaz during his stints as PM: Book
ONLINESunday, 1 Jul 2012 1:31 pm )
ISLAMABAD – PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif made financial gains of $418 million during his twice stints as Prime Minister of the country, according to a book entitled Capitalism’s Achilles Heel by Raymond W Baker. The book is a dossier on the corruption of most dominated political families in the history including Nawaz Sharif and how they accumulated their properties, factories and enormous wealth. According to the book, at least $160 million were pocketed by Nawaz Sharif during his first stint as the Prime Minister in the 1990, from a contract to build a highway from Lahore, his home town, to Islamabad, the nation’s capital. At least $140 million in unsecured loans from Pakistan’s state banks. More than $60 million generated from government rebates on sugar exported by mills controlled by Mr. Sharif and his business associates. At least $58 million skimmed from prices paid for imported wheat from the United States and Canada. In the wheat deal, Mr. Sharif’s government paid prices far above market value to a private company owned by a close associate of his in Washington, the records show. Falsely inflated invoices for the wheat generated tens of millions of dollars in cash. The book review went on to state “The extent and magnitude of this corruption is so staggering that it has put the very integrity of the country at stake.” Under Sharif, unpaid bank loans and massive tax evasion remained the favorite ways to get rich. Upon his loss of power the usurping government published a list of 322 of the largest loan defaulters, representing almost $3 billion out of $4 billion owed to banks. Sharif and his family were tagged for $60 million. Like Bhutto, offshore companies have been linked to Sharif, three in the British Virgin Islands by the names of Nescoll, Nielson, and Shamrock and another in the Channel Islands known as Chandron Jersey Pvt. Ltd. Some of these entities allegedly were used to facilitate purchase of four rather grand flats on Park Lane in London, at various times occupied by Sharif family members. In 1999 Musharraf had Sharif probed, tried, convicted, and sentenced to life in prison, but then in 2000 exiled him to Saudi Arabia. Twenty-two containers of carpets and furniture followed, and, of course, his foreign accounts remained mostly intact. Ensconced in a glittering palace in Jeddah, he is described as looking “corpulent” amidst “opulent” surroundings.
Nawaz Sharif rules his constituency only on the pages of newspapers with propaganda when in actual fact there is really nothing on ground.
He intimidates the local press and threatens them with closure if they report true events about his corruption. He offers Board Chairmanship of Agencies of Public companies to his Cronies.
Targeting critics
The Nawaz Sharif Government’s continuing crackdown on journalists comes in for strong criticism inside and outside Pakistan.
AMIT BARUAH in Islamabad
THE crackdown on the press by the Nawaz Sharif Government does not come as a surprise. It has been in the making for several months now. The first indication came when the Government targeted the Jang group of newspapers – starving it of newsprint and launching an investigation into alleged income tax violations by its proprietor Mir Shakilur Rehman.
More recently, on April 1, the Sharif Government got Rehmat Shah Afridi, the Editor of The Frontier Post, arrested on charges of smuggling narcotics; on May 4, Hussain Haqqani, a leading columnist and politician, on charges of corruption; and on May 8, Najam Sethi, the Editor of The Friday Times, for his alleged links with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s external intelligence agency. In an effort to diminish these developments, the Government claims that Afridi, Haqqani and Sethi were arrested not for their writings, but for specific offences that are unrelated to their professional status.
In other instances of harassment and intimidation, M.A.K. Lodhi, the Lahore-based head of the investigative bureau of The News, was detained for 48 hours for “providing help” to a BBC team that was making a film on the alleged corruption of Nawaz Sharif’s family.
Imtiaz Alam, Editor (Current Affairs), The News, who organized a meeting of parliamentarians from India and Pakistan in Islamabad, had his car torched by unidentified persons who entered his house in the early hours of the day.
Sethi was “arrested” by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for the “disparaging comments” he made about an “all-round crisis” in Pakistan, at the India International Centre in New Delhi on April 30. His comments were used to label him as a person who had “links” with RAW, and he was accused of undermining the foundations of Pakistan as an Islamic state.
A damning report submitted by Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India (he was present at the conference Sethi addressed) was used to justify Sethi’s “arrest”. Around 2-30 a.m. on May 8, several armed men forced their way into Sethi’s house in Lahore, beat up two armed guards, and entered his bedroom. Sethi’s wife Jugnu Mohsin alleged that they beat him with clubs and the chain attached to the handcuffs they carried. She further alleged that Sethi was whisked away without being allowed to put on his spectacles and wear his shoes. She said that when she asked the armed men whether they had an arrest warrant, she was told that she would get her husband’s “body”. Jugnu alleged that she was tied up and locked up in the dressing room.
A statement issued by the Government on May 8 said: “It is suspected that the journalist has some nexus/connection with the RAW. He has projected a dismal picture of Pakistan at their behest to create despondency and doubts in the minds of Pakistanis. In order to unearth such links, it was considered necessary to investigate him on matters of national security.”
However, it is widely believed that Sethi was arrested not for what he said in India, but for his outspoken criticism of the Nawaz Sharif Government. The tone and tenor of his weekly editorials in The Friday Times are biting, and they often mock the Government. It is widely believed that the Government had been waiting for an opportunity to strike.
K.M. CHOUDARY/ AP
Najam Sethi addressing a news conference in Lahore on May 5, where he expressed his fear of being put under arrest. He was detained on May 8.
Sethi began his lecture at the India International Centre by referring to the multiple crises gripping Pakistan. “The crisis of identity and ideology refers to the fact that after 50 years (of Independence), Pakistanis are still unable to collectively agree upon who we are as a nation, where we belong, what we believe in and where we want to go…” He had used these very words in an editorial titled “What is to be done?” in The Friday Times of January 1-7, 1999. The editorial and the lecture he gave are similar in content.
The Government said that critical remarks about the country could be made on Pakistani soil, but not in India. Obviously, the Lahore Declaration does not extend to individuals or the right to criticize each other’s government or society. A ‘fact sheet’ released by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) on May 13 makes the same point: “There is enough material to show that he (Sethi) vehemently questioned the very basis of the creation of Pakistan. No doubt many others in Pakistan hold similar views, but most of them follow the ethical principle that one does not denigrate or ridicule one’s own country when visiting foreign lands, particularly before an audience known to be opposed to the existence of the country.” (Obviously, the fact that Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee referred to Pakistan and India as “separate nations” – an acknowledgment of Partition – during his visit to the Minar-i-Pakistan is not enough to convince Sharif’s Muslim League that India does not oppose Pakistan’s existence.) The ‘fact sheet’ further states that Sethi started his career as a “book seller” and a “gun-runner”, and that he has been dabbling in politics, having been a Minister in Farooq Leghari’s caretaker government (November 1996-February 1997). “He is still known to have close links with Mr. Leghari and his recently launched Millat Party,” it states, “…but his detention is related neither to his being an editor, nor a politician from an Opposition party. The immediate reason officially stated is the speech he made recently at a seminar in New Delhi. But his alleged links with the Indian intelligence agency RAW were under investigation for long.”
APART from being criticised by independent journalists, human rights organizations and a host of other groups for its actions, the Sharif Government has been strongly criticised by the United States, the European Union and Canada.
Interestingly, this is the first time since Sharif assumed power that the U.S. has expressed such categorical views on what is obviously Pakistan’s “internal” issue. The U.S. maintained a studied silence and refused to comment on the dispute between Sharif and Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah in 1997 and on the confrontation between Sharif and the Chief of the Army Staff, Gen. Jehangir Karamat, in 1998.
CLEARLY, a battle is on to safeguard the independent press in Pakistan. Najam Sethi’s case could well become a test case. If the Government gets away with putting one of Pakistan’s best-known journalists behind bars and the courts remain silent spectators (the Lahore High Court rejected a habeas corpus petition in this regard), all the writers who are critical of the Government would be easy game for the Government. The saving grace is that a small but vocal section of Pakistani society is committed to defending the freedom of the press and the right to expression from attacks by the Government.
(16) A leader who recently immortalized a man who conducted the worst election in Nigeria (as have proved by the upturning and mollification of result) with the renaming of a popular road in his constituency after him is very corrupt.
(17) Nawaz Sharif’s Kashmiri Mafia has become the biggest Qabza Group in Pakistan. This Qabza Group has takeover properties on Hall Road, Beadon Road, Mall Road, Model Town, Raiwind, Kala Shah Kaku and most suburbia of Lahore.
In his last term, Nawaz Sharifs rate of acquisition of personal properties was inversely proportional to the rate of development of Pakistan.
When Nawaz Sharif became prime minister, the group took a decision to secure project loans from the foreign banks and only working capital was taken from the nationalized commercial banks. The project financing from foreign banks was ostensibly secured against the foreign currency deposits, a number of which were held in benamee accounts, as repeatedly claimed by Interior Minister Naseer Ullah Babar at his press conferences. In 1992 Salman Taseer released an account of Nawaz Sharif’s corruption stating that the family had taken loans of up to 12 billion rupees, which were never paid back. On March 2, 1994, Khalid Siraj, a cousin of Nawaz Sharif claimed that the assets of the seven brothers were valued at Rs 21 billion. During the Afghan-Soviet War Nawaz Sharif’s cousin and brother-in-law, Sohail Zia Butt started working under the drug baron Mirza Iqbal Beg, then Pakistan’s second biggest drug lord after Ayub Afridi. Mian Muhammad Sharif and his sons had a permanent share in his gambling and heroin business. In 1990 Suhail Butt won a seat on the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad ticket in the Punjab Assembly. It was through Sohail Butt’s association that Nawaz Sharif became a close associate of Mirza Iqbal Beg. It was through him that Nawaz Sharif became benami owner of many of the privatized government entities, such as Muslim Commercial Bank. Sohail Zia Butt other than getting involved in the drug business made billions in the co-operative societies’ collapse, mainly through the National Industrial Credit and Finance Corporation. It was Nawaz Sharif’s share in his cousin’s drug business, which he used to buy off the generals thereby delaying the inevitable dismissal of his government. In 1995 when Mirza Iqbal Beg was imprisoned, Sohail Zia Butt took over his drug empire. It was at this time that he became one of the biggest drug and crime bosses in Pakistan and was nicknamed the “King of Heera Mandi” and at one time all six underworld gangs of Lahore were working under him.
By 1995 family’s declared annual profits from industrial units had increased 1500% from US$ 30 million to staggering US$ 400 million.
This is the short version of how in mere 15 years small street thugs running gambling dens became leaders of a country running narcotics, underworld and smuggling empires, untouched by everyone.
Nawaz Sharif awards contracts only roughly to companies he has interest in including that of Malik Riaz, Babar Butt, Mirza Iqbal, and a convicted heroin smuggler.
URDU SPEAKER MUSHAHIDULLAH, A NAWAZ SHARIF JIYALA, BLACKBALLED: A TYPICAL NAWAZ SHARIF UMBURSARI KASHMIRI RACISM
Nawaz Sharif is a Racist Bigot. He discarded like a wet rag and blackballed his biggest Urdu Speaking Jiyala Mushahid Ullah Khan, because, Mushahid Ullah hailed from UP India, from District Bijnor, City of Najibabad.
Nawaz Sharif threatens social critics, public opinion analysts, media personalities like Mubasher Lucman and social crusaders with death threats through PML (N) Jiyalas and jail terms if they continue to criticize and expose his government is corrupt.
Nawaz Sharif’s Budget 2013-2014 allocation meant for development of Pakistan is directed towards the pockets of rich in the society and members of the legislatures who are absolutely corrupt.

CORRUPTION CASES
Nawaz Sharif and his cronies have always been working to plunder Pakistan’s wealth as their sole agenda.
Despite all maneuvering following references were filed against the Sharifs:-
FINANCIAL GAINS BY USING HIS AUTHORITY AS PRIME MINISTER
The first tenure of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister in the year 1990 saw another reign of loot and plunder. During this period Mian Nawaz Shairf obtained loans amounting to more than Rs.614 billion from Banks through his influence against inadequate guarantees.
This statement of Shahbaz Sharif reflects his mindset !
DECEIT AND LYING
Nawaz Sharif’s politics is based on the philosophy “lie repeatedly till it seems as the truth”.
POOR GOVERNANCE & MALADMINISTRATION
It is a hard fact that poor governance & maladministration is trade mark of Sharif brothers. In order to achieve their motives, Sharifs always appoint their blue eyed personnel on key posts by completely ignoring merit.
CRIMINAL ASSAULT ON THE SUPREME COURT OF PAKISTAN
In order to consolidate and attain more power, ‘the champion of democracy and independent judiciary’, Nawaz Sharif attacked every individual and institution, he felt could get in the way and challenge his authority.
CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE PRESS AND JOURNALISTS
A number of incidents during 1998-99 indicated a pattern of harassment and intimidation of individual journalists as the government was increasingly becoming intolerant.
On Feb. 13, 1999, three persons, including Senator Abdul Hayee Baloch and a lady worker from Lahore, were iwere injured when the police baton-charged, used water cannons and threw bricks on a peaceful procession of the Pakistan Awami Ittehad in front of the parliament house in Islamabad.
Police stormed into his house in Lahore and dragged him out of his bed room. Sethi under the Pakistan Army Act for being a traitor and give him maximum punishment (maximum punishment is death!).
Three days later, the government sent notices to Jang for non payment of taxes and the case was shifted to the Ehtesab cell.
He released to the press audio-tapes of conversation with Saif-ur-Rehman on this issue.
DESTABILIZATION OF INSTITUTIONS
There is probably no institution in Pakistan which Nawaz Sharif did not aggressively confront innjured when the police baton-charged, used water cannons and threw bricks on a peaceful procession of the Pakistan Awami Ittehad in front of the parliament house in Islamabad.

DESTABILIZATION OF INSTITUTIONS
There is probably no institution in Pakistan which Nawaz Sharif did not aggressively confront in order to make them comply with his wishes.
Ill-CONSIDERED ECONOMIC DECISIONS
Nawaz Sharif’s ill-considered economic decisions cost Pakistan dearly!
80 billion.
SELLING KASHMIR CA– — USE TO VAJPAYEE IN 1999 AND HUMILATING ARMED FORCES IN USA, DURING KARGIL
The so called son of soil Nawaz Sharif virtually sold Kashmir in 1999 during Indian PM’s visit to Lahore.
1. 14. ATOMIC EXPLOSIONS
It is a proven fact that in 1998 Nawaz Sharif was double-minded about the atomic explosions.
(11) Nawaz Sharif imposes his relative as leaders in the government in his “constituency” is very corrupt.
Dubai: HDS Tower in Cluster F of Jumeirah Lakes Tower is only one of the 34 story buildings that belong to the mighty HDS Group.
Some of the many exotic, luxury and SUVs in the lineup are the the Ferrari Berlinetta F12 and the McLaren F1, and you can do the numbers yourself!
The owners from a ‘poor and starving’ country Pakistan, where the average monthly income for an individual is $41, are offering such exotic services in Dubai, which even the local Emiratis fail to afford.
RAW Asset Madhu Bhindari, the Indian Hindu Billionaire who invested money in Dubai with Pakistani politicians
These politicians talk about the welfare of Pakistani people, but all they can think about is themselves!”
Previously, Director Swiss Bank had stated that Pakistan has around 97 billion dollars only in Swiss Banks.

Nawaz Sharif who awards road contract at five times the actual cost and yet the roads are never completed is very corrupt like the Rawalpindi -Peshawar Motorway.
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif made financial gains of $418 million during his twice stints as Prime Minister of the country,
according to a book entitled
Capitalism’s Achilles Heel
by
Raymond W Baker.
Falsely in?ated invoices for the wheat generated tens of millions of dollars in cash.
The book review went on to state that “The extent and magnitude of this corruption is so staggering that it has put the very integrity of the country at stake.”
Under Sharif, unpaid bank loans and massive tax evasion remained the favorite ways to get rich.
Ltd. Some of these entities allegedly were used to facilitate purchase of four rather grand flats on Park Lane inLondon, at various times occupied by Sharif family members.
He offers Board Chairmanship of Agencies of Public companies to his Croonies.
AMIT BARUAH
in Islamabad
Imtiaz Alam, Editor (Current Affairs), The News, who organised a meeting of parliamentarians from India and Pakistan in Islamabad, had his car torched by unidentified persons who entered his house in the early hours of the day.
A damning report submitted by Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India (he was present at the conference Sethi addressed), was used to justify Sethi’s “arrest”. Around 2-30 a.m. on May 8, several armed men forced their way into Sethi’s house in Lahore, beat up two armed guards, and entered his bedroom. Sethi’s wife Jugnu Mohsin alleged that they beat him with clubs and the chain attached to the hand-cuffs they carried.
He was detained on
May 8.
Obviously, the Lahore Declaration does not extend to individuals or the right to criticise each other’s government or society.
APART from being criticised by independent journalists, human rights organisations and a host of other groups for its actions, the Sharif Government has been strongly criticised by the United States, the European Union and Canada.
It was Nawaz Sharif’s share in his cousin’s drug business which he used to buy off the generals thereby delaying the inevitable dismissal of his government.
Nawaz Sharif awards contracts only roughly to companies he has interest in including that of Malik Riaz, Babar Butt, Mirza Iqbal, a convicted heroin smuggler.

NAWAZ SHARIF AND HIS KASHMIRI BIRADARI HAVE GRABBED ALL SECTORS OF PAKISTAN’S ECONOMY TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK & THEN RUN TO DUBAI, LONDON, OR USA
Pakistan has brilliant Electrical and Hydel Engineers, both at home and abroad, but Nawaz Sharif and his Kashmiri coterie could only find
Mussadak Malik, an unemployed Pharmacist, from Boston, Massachusets, as Advisor on Hydel and Energy Sector. This man has a degree in Pharmacy from a relatively third rate US Pharmacy School. But, he has one brilliant quality. He has a silver tongue. He can charm a snake just by talking. But, as far as substance goes, he is essentially zero in substantive knowledge. He is extremely clever. He listens to experts. He memorizes their profession jargon. And, delivers it to powerful in a song and dance alecture on the the subject, whose lingo, he learns by rote.
He is classic example of “Andhon mien, Kharaan Raja.
Among Nawaz Sharif and his Gaggle of dunces, Mussadak Malik stands out as truly a Maestro.
But, as President Abraham Lincoln said,
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

LAHORE, Oct 4: Mian Mohammad Mansha on Friday renewed his call for privatising the public sector enterprises (PSEs), in general, and power generation and distribution companies, in particular, “rationalising” energy and fuel prices, and cutting the size of the government to pull the economy out of its troubles.
He rejected the view that hydel power generation was cheap.
He challenged the claim that electricity produced from the proposed Bhasha Dam would cost just 16 paisa per unit.
“It will not cost less than Rs9-10. I am not against construction of dams or hydel power. But some people are deliberately misguiding the nation on the issue of cost of hydel power.”
Mian Mansha, who also has a big stake in power generation and advised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his economic team on its energy policy,
was unhappy over allegations in the media
that his power companies had benefited the most from government’s decision to pay unpaid bills of the power sector.
He was quite critical of what he called as irresponsible reporting and commentary (on the economic issues and against his businesses) by the media, wondering as to who would want to invest in such circumstances.
He said the uncalled for criticism was forcing business groups to start venturing into the media industry as an “insurance policy” (against hostile comments against them).
“Don’t force us to do this. Let us do our job,” he said, frustratingly.
“If media didn’t start acting responsibly, I would also have to think of breaking into this territory,” he said.
He also accused a Provincial government (Sindh) of working against the Thar Coal Power project.

DUAL US & PAKISTAN NATIONALITY HOLDER RUNS THE POWER & ENERGY SECTOR
A letter about the energy policy, blaming a gang of four for what is described as a con operation, had the parliamentary corridors on fire.
The thrust of the letter was that the IPPs are being paid in the name of clearing circular debt as part of a larger conspiracy. It questions the credentials of the people who are involved in the energy policy and alleges this to be a clear case of conflict of interest. The quartet is named as Mian Mohammad Mansha, his nephew Shahzad Saleem, Nadeem Babar and Saqib Shirazi of the Atlas Group.
The key players, according to the anonymous letter, are IPP power plant owners—mainly Sapphire Power, Liberty Power (Mukati Group of Karachi) and, among others, Said Power. The hired henchmen for them are Abdullah Yousaf (Chairman of IPPs Association—IPPAC), Mussadaq Malik (Special Assistant to the PM and Minister of Water and Power) and Shahid Sattar (Planning Commission official).
It gives profiles of all of them, which raises a number of questions about them but Sheeshnag keeps it for the moment and only mentions the profile of one—Mussadaq Malik.
He is described as somebody who gets in every government from Musharraf to the Interim government and is now part of the PML (N). He is a pharmacist who first emerged as the expert of development in Nasim Ashraf’s National Commission of the Human Development. Now he comes as the biggest energy expert that this country ever saw. Most people remember him as the Jamiat’s goon from FC College in Lahore. He was recommended by Syed Babar Ali to Nawaz Sharif to which Mian Sahb readily agreed—such being the mutual back-scratching arrangement among the tycoons. It is yet to be seen what Syed Babar Ali, otherwise a rare respected tycoon, saw in this pharmacist-turned-developer-
The letter explains in detail the energy policy of 1994 and 2002 and concludes that “the project costs, operational expenses, debt repayments and return on equity is covered under the Capacity Purchase Price (CPP) invoice and the fuel cost is covered under the Energy Purchase Price (EPP). Both investors are forwarded separately by companies to NTDC/WAPDA.”
The letter gives a long detail of what it alleges to be a scam. In short, it says, “the 1994 Power Policy IPPs (total 14) continue to skim and make illegal profits on the fuel (both liquid and gas fired plants) by lying about their heat rebates (plant efficiency). Such profits are conservatively estimated to be four to five per cent. Due to delays and tariff deals, they lost the remaining cushion/padding, yet have made fabulous returns.”
“The 2002 Power Policy IPPs (total 13) over invoiced the initial project setting up cost and continue to skim and make illegal profits on operational expenses and heat rate (fuel consumption). They skim money at three levels (excluding the original project cost)—operational expense, over invoiced fuel and kickbacks from OMCs.”
The letter alleges that annual returns are in the range of 35 percent to 40 percent. “Inclusive of original project cost—a payback period of two years. Not bad.”
The letter asks some questions:
Why did the PM-designate visit Mansha’s Raiwind farm for a briefing on circular debts and energy issues? Considering that Mansha is the leader of the nine IUPPs who have invoked Government of Pakistan guarantee and is in the Supreme Court, to say the least, was it not embarrassing?
Mansha and Nadeem Babar are in the energy task force. Guess what—their key recommendation—pay IPPs. Isn’t this a conflict of interest?
Munir Malik was the lawyer of IPPs. How will he defend the case of the State as Attorney General against them?
Why did PPIB and NEPRA approve without background the checking the efficiency of diesel gensets installed at the Mansha and Atlas plants and indeed the efficiency/heat rate of all power plants set up under 2002 power policy?
Is it true that the government is giving Muzaffargarh power plant to Mansha? If so, why not bid it first?
Why doesn’t the government adjust the “stolen amounts” and then the tariff formula?
It suggests that the government should ask the IPPs to share the burden with the masses. “The full adjustment should be made in six to eight quarterly payments. This will save the government Rs 200 billion as equity for starting the mid-term programme of setting up coal fired projects. Assuming a 70/30 debt equity ratio, as used by the IPPs, the government can set up thousand MWs of power generation in next three years.”
Now, all of this seems to come from another lobby, which definitely has an interest. But they do have a point that needs to be studied. Otherwise, they have sent it to the SC for taking it up. God save us.

Refusing to play second fiddle to the powerful military, former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said he will be the army chief’s “boss” if voted back to power in the May 11 general elections. A combative Sharif, whose party PML-N is widely expected to form the next government here, hinted that the current army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani would be replaced by the “senior most” when he retires in November.
“All I know is when I was a Prime Minister, the policies were being formulated by federal government, by the civilian head of the state and then of course executed by the institutions,” Sharif said in an interview to Karan Thapar on CNN IBN’s Devil’s Advocate.
“I want that to continue and I’m very clear on that, that everybody must remain in their respective domain,” he said.
He was replying to a query if under his rule, the Army would continue to control Pakistan’s relations with US, India besides security policies of the government.
Asked if that means the Prime Minister will be Army chief’s boss, he said, “He is. The Army is an attached department of the federal government and of course the Chief of Army staff works under the federal government and implements the policies of the federal government”.
Replying to a query if he would give an extension to Kayani, he said, “I don’t think he will ask any further extension or he will be interested in any further extension. I will go by the book; I will go by the merit. Who so ever is the senior most, will have to occupy this…the next one, the next in line”.
Sharif who spoke on a wide range of issues also stressed on the importance of a combination of dialogue and armed intervention as the answer to combat terror in Pakistan.
He also said he has no vendetta against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf but said he will bring a treason trial against him for imposing martial law twice in the country.
“I think this problem has to be solved on priority basis, there is no doubt about it. And you can’t really solve all the problems through guns and bullets, you got to also explore other options.
“Options of engagement, may be those options work, in many countries problems have been solved by sitting across the table…I think all the options would have to be exercised,” Sharif said.
“We will have to have all the stakeholders sitting on the table, discuss the matter with them openly, candidly and very frankly and arrive at a policy and a strategy that is workable.
“And I think all those forces inside Pakistan, outside Pakistan will also have to be invited and we must then listen to each others concerns, address them and them pave the way for a solution to this problem,” he said.
Speaking about Musharraf, Sharif said he did not have any personal vendetta to settle.
“He has imposed martial law twice in Pakistan, first in 1999 and again in November 2007. He abrogated the constitution, he fired the judges, he dissolved Parliament unconstitutionally. I think he has to pay for that,” he said.
Asked if that meant he will sanction a treason trial against Musharraf, Sharif said, “That is not a crime that I can forgive, I think the nation will have to decide as to what the nation wants against him and then it will be left to judiciary and the judges to try and to decide”.
Speaking about his economic revival plans, Sharif said he would float an international tender for generating power from Thar coal mines.
“Indian businessmen are getting power from this coal, they are generating power from coal in India. Why can’t we do it? I think we will float an international tender, bidding and may be Indian businessmen can come and invest in Thar coal in Pakistan. We will be happy to welcome them”.

The extent of the caliber of Sharif Brothers and bias in their hearts toward ordinary people of Punjabi’s is blatantly exposed in the composition of a team mandated on behalf of PML-N to discuss future Care taker Prime Minister of Pakistan with the government.
A notorious gang of four known Gowalmandi goons are nominated by Don Sharif to negotiate & to decide the future Prime Minister.
THIS TEAM OF THUGS COMPRISES OF THE FOLLOWING:
What a sorry state of affairs for the Punjabis to know that out of entire Punjab there is not even a single Punjabi worth to trust by SHARIFS. No matter how much sacrifices one may give for these nincompoops but they will always prefer their own Kashmiri Ganda Anda over other true PUNJABIS.
Be it Guhlam Hyder Wayne Mahroom, Khawaja Zaheer or General Zaiuddin Butt, one should only be of Kashmiri Clan, on other ordinary Punjabi they will never trust.
SHAME ON KASHMIRI GARDI IN PUNJAB : They live in Punjab but do not trust Punjabis.
Another classical joke of PML-N with Punjab
Mian Shahbaz Sharif has recommended yet another Family Member belonging to his own Kashmiri clan Khawaja Izhar as Care Taker Chief Minister of Punjab. Without learning anything from the past, the way Engineer General Zia uddin Butt of his family Clan was being put as Chief of Army Staff in 1999. Insha Allah this time Punjab will teach the a proper lesson to be remembered by their coming generation.
A Joke of the Decade, as Punjab is short of any Punjabi to be put as Caretaker.
It is a Kashmiri Family Affair…!!!
Besides given set of jokers, PML-N also have the following from their own Clan
There are scores of such other nincompoops whose names are not known at hand.
Probably most of the friends might have seen this earlier as well. See once again the crooked faces of these Frauds.

LAHORE: DIG Operations Punjab requested the Punjab government on Friday to shut down the Metro Bus service for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally on Saturday, Express News reported.
While reviewing the security measures for the PTI’s rally, which will be held at Minar-e-Pakistan on Saturday, police officials argued that the bus service should be closed for the day based on earlier incidents involving crowds damaging the Metro Buses, offices and blocking routes.
They stated that there would be a huge crowd en-route to Minar-e-Pakistan — a stop the Metro bus takes — therefore it would be better to either shut down the service for a day or limit the route from Gajumata to MA College, Lahore.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had recently stated that the “PTI’s tsunami” would reach Minar-e Pakistan in Lahore by March 23, travelling on the newly operating Metro Buses.
According to sources, around 600 policemen will be allotted for securing the PTI rally, and cars will be stopped at Data Darbar.

MNA Disqualified
Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday declared PML-N MNA Khadim Hussain Wattoo ineligible for having fake degree,Geo News reported. Khadim Hussain was elected Member National Assembly (MNA) on PML-N ticket from Bahawalpur. LHC passed the judgement on a petition filed in August 2010 by Mr. Nawaz Cheema who had contended that Muhammad Akhter Khadim alias Khadim Hussain Wattoo had always cheated election commission by submitting bogus degrees and adopting dishonest practices in elections from 1985 to 2008.
The MNA has been unseated at a time when the NA itself has been dissolved for completing its tenure. One wonders if the NA had still some more life the ‘honourable’ MNA would have kept enjoying his untouchable status and stature! Anyway, now the question arises that would the salaries and various other expenses incurred on the perks and privileges of the ‘honourable’ member of most august house of the country for the period that he was its mighty member be recovered from him with interest or not? Not only that, the matter of one’s proffering a fake and false degree without having honestly passed a certain examination is not an ordinary act of perjury!! It is a well thought out and planned premeditated crime and committed willfully and with the full knowledge of its perpetrator. Such a scourge of the society must not be left lightly. He must be punished severely to the utmost and made a horrible example to act as a deterre nt for the others.

Assets must be protected from these “uncouth youth”.
Recommend64
Noora league will do anything to stop the Tsunami, but InshAllah they will fail!
Recommend236
Metro Bus is a national asset, it will be wise if it is not handed over to any crowd for destruction. Second for @Antebellum, any kind of Tsunami brings on ly destruction. I wish PTI leadership had a little sense naming themselves as destructors
Recommend39
the fear is in their hearts now
Recommend151
It makes sense shutting it down. These rallies always go crazy in Pakistan and it is best not to waste the billions of rupees spent on this white elephant project.
Recommend26
wow, waht a special reason. No wonder who CM currently is.
Recommend31
Its not about fear of Tsunami its about being civilized. PML N doesn’t think that we Lahories are civilized enough to sit in Metrobus.
Recommend22
Khurram, There is a difference between PMLN and PTI crowd. I think you are confusing the two.
Recommend48
@KHURRAM MANSOOR, my friend thats the idea , bring destruction to status quo, bring destruction to corruption so on and so forth. If you have been unable to fathom the idea as yet then you deserve the leaders we have.
Recommend46
Shame on Musharaf League of Raiwind
Recommend57
The people who are going to travel 100s of kilometers from different cities to get to Lahore for this historic day are not going to be stopped by blocking a bus service that only runs on 37 kms.
Only made the government look scared. It wont dent the event attendance in any way.
Recommend51
PMLN is SCARED of tsunama

@Angry @KHURRAM MANSOOR @Blithe:
True Patwari Logic. Hats off to you.
— Metro Buses (and for that matter all transport systems) should be closed for Rallies to ensure security.
— All official buildings, shopping plazas, underpasses, bridges etc on the Rally route should be lifted & moved to some other place to secure them.
— Better yet all citizens should be sent to ‘Chaanga Maanga’ to ensure their safety from ‘uncouth youth’.
— If any mishap does happen, Khadim-e-Aala may distribute fake cheques to the affectees to satisfy media cameras (who cares if they bounce later). Huh
Hum ne badla hai Punjab…… Hum Badlenge Paistan…. whatever
Recommend79
@Angry: Its a government resource made from our tax money, doesn’t belong to their abbay! Will they shut it down during PPP’s rallies? during their own? obviously this is a political move by an opponent that is scared
Recommend64
Metro Bus belongs to every Pakistani ! Lets suppose if they hold rallies near airport than govt will shut that too ? Protection of assets is the responsibility of police and police should do their work.Tsunami is a disciplined group of people and will purchase tickets for the service and directly benefit the national chequer. Imran Khan will show all that change is now imminent and these zardaris and sharifs have to go now
Recommend47
Great move. Unlike chairs, buses are public property, therefore must be saved from destructive Tsunami. What kind of youth is this? they want ride and seating, why cannot they walk to concert nor stand for few hours.
Recommend10
@Khurram Mansoor. The name “Tsunami” implies the destruction of the filth ridden status quote that is the incumbent regime (PPP, PMLN included)
Recommend37
The awkward moment when a party who spend .7 to 1 Billion Rs on media campaign is crying for Transportation
Recommend16
We will make a new Pakistan InshAllah:
Peace & Justice for all, Cheap electricity , health , education , infrastructure , merit , winning teams in all sports , crime free Pakistan , respect of Pakistani passport, state of the art defence.
Come on IK we are with you captain

“There are no pacts between Tsunamis & Metros” …. with excuse to Homer.
Recommend5
Even being a PTI fan, I think its not a bad decision.
Recommend6
This will actually add to the passion of people.
Recommend22
Good decision because Metro Buses are our precious assets”.
Recommend6
The Brave Punjab Police is unable to protect Metro Bus. Lame Excuse … In reality The Shareef’s wouldn’t like PTI to utilize their creation!
Recommend22
Good Luck Shaheeno… .
Recommend18
There is a difference between PMLN and PTI crowd. DG Lahore Police is confusing the two
Recommend21
Do whatever you want, now no can stop tsunami of IK.
Recommend20
There was no Metro Bus on 30 Oct either. Who needs Metro !!! ?? PTI all the way
Recommend17
Pakistan Muslim league – Naan
Recommend15
They used the same tactics before October 30, 2011 and we all witnessed that history was made on Oct 30. Jungla bus will remain open when shareef brothers will do a jalsi at bhaati chawk. hahahahah. wake up. Lahore AND Pakistan belongs to PTI.
Recommend14
If it’s so difficult to protect Metro Bus then why was it built on first place??
PTI has been saying this from the beginning that this Nation needs education before such projects, & PMLN today has proved that..!
Recommend18
I think its a good decision. Its not a matter of inability to protection but prevention of mob mentality. Imran Khan is not the end of the world.; Nor does he have what it takes to pacify a crowd
Recommend7
IK himself in one of his speeches has directed PTI troll to use the bus for his jalsa meaning PTI trolls have the licence to vandalize the buses
Recommend4
@PakistanUnited: Raiwind party is actually Zia League. Not Musharaf League They were born and brought up by Ziaul Haq
Recommend9
Though I am a supporter of PTI, I do not agree that Pakistani youth knows how to value the things that belong to them … Let’s take a lesson from history … Having said that, I wish that pti stage a record breaking jalsa without the need for metro buses … That would be amazing …

Metro Bus is a useless project.. It is a permanent liability and a weak point for Govt..

A great move! Unlike chairs, buses are public property, therefore must be saved from destructive Tsunami. What kind of burgers party is this? they badmouth it, condemn it and then want ride and seating… why can’t they walk to the concert for few hours??
Recommend
This is Rehman Malik approach, close cell phones as they create terrorism.
Recommend1
Pti kids have been praying for the failure of this service from day 1. we r talking of desperate kids of a desperate leader. Now that transparency int’l has given a green signal to the project & imran khan failed to provide any evidence of corruption. Punjab govt has all the reasons to believe they will try to harm it physically.
Recommend
Well actually shame on the party whose rally is affecting public transport and the common man’s life

What else do you expect from a highly politicized police.
