On December 25, Shahzeb Khan was shot dead in Karachi. Since his death, Shahzeb has become a symbol in Pakistan, with his picture spreading across social media platforms. Ordinary Pakistanis want his death to be the end of Pakistani feudal class, who live above the law in the South Asian country.The alleged killers, Siraj Talpur and Shahrukh Jatoi, are the member of two powerful feudal families. Pakistan’s political and social systems are still rife with corruption, leaving families like the Talpur and Jatoi outside of the reach of the law for many ordinary Pakistanis.
Shahzeb’s murder should be the final nail in the coffin of Pakistan’s feudalism. Shahzeb’s murder is a crime against a nation of 180 million people. It has to be avenged with the Biblical punishment of an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Several hundred thousand Pakistani poor have died at the hands of the feudals, who control, not only large tracts of land, but also, have used their power to gain 75 percent of seats in the parliament and provincial assembly. It is about time; Pakistanis came up with a Hitlerian final solution to the curse of feudalism in the nation. These feudals should be pulled out of their lavish homes, cars, and planes and tried. Pakistani people need to have summary trial courts and, if found guilty of suppression of tenants, murder, rape, and tax evasion, they should be summarily executed not by the Army, but by Pakistan Police Firing Squads. Feudals are the root cause of all of the problems, which Pakistan has suffered for the last 60 years. Once, this plague on Pakistan is removed, the nation will start to flourish and their will be thousand points of light to economic freedom, abolition of hunger, penury, servitude, and unacknowledged slavery. Feudal exploitation breeds poverty, which in turn breed terrorism, crime, and corruption. Wake up Pakistanis! Today it is Shahzeb, tomorrow it will be you. Abolish land holdings and revert all land to the state, which would then distribute to Muzaras. Punjab and Sindh are two provinces, where feudalism is rampant. In the last sixty years, all power has rested with feudals. Pakistan are working under the tutelage of the feudal class.

Successful Politicians
Churchill while defining politics and politicians had said that a successful politician was the one who promised moon and stars to his electorate before the elections and after being elected to the power could explain to them as to why he couldn’t do all that he had promised. MNS has certainly grown up to qualify for that category of successful politicians. He has so far taken to explain only one issue that of the energy and load shedding as to why it can’t be solved sooner as promised and one would have to wait and see what he will have to say about the other many many ‘moons’ and the ‘stars’ that the Shareef brothers had so enthusiastically promised to the masses – the poor naïve masses who believe in such “successful” politicians who take them time and again for a big ride.

How I wish the above news going rounds on the internet is not true. And if it is true, nothing could be more ridiculous than it. Would Nawaz Shareef look any more dignified in it than Manmohan Singh in his cotton Kurta Pyjama? Why can’t he emulate his favourite Indian leader in matters of austerity and simplicity? How would he sermonize the nation to shun ostentation and be not extravagant, if he himself cannot practice frugality?Deegar ra naseehat – Khud Mian fasihat!! Incidentally, If it is so, someone must be taking him for a big ride by selling him a so called designer’s sherwani for 15 lacs! I wonder how many millions the “coronation” Shalwar to match the sherwani would cost ?! I think, a whole lot of school kids in some poor locality of Pakistan could be outfitted with their clothes and uniforms with that kind of money. Remember? only yesterday, the Chinese PM asked the GOP that the money to be spent on h is reception should be diverted for the poor’s welfare. That is what true leaders are and that’s how they care for the poor.
And, here we have some spending millions on their ‘coronation’ costumes. Does it not speak of the real worth of them? How small they are in their real stature and size that they have to prop up their personality by making use of such props?! One wonders how much would the rest of the regalia, the receptions, the banquets and other ceremonies cost to the poor national exchequer on this occasion.

Ayesha Ahad says Shahbaz’s son-in-law Ali Imran was behind her torture episode

Islamabad, Oct 20 (www.pakdestiny.com) While Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif smartly rescue his daughter Rabia and even gain politically by presenting his son-in-law Ali Imran in the bakery boy torture case to police that was not even ready to quiz him, Hamza Shahbaz’s third wife Aysha Ahad identifies Ali Imran ‘a man behind her torture’.
Ayesha told Pak Destiny “Ali Imran last year with the help of Hamza got me arrested in a fake kidnapping case. I was given a 10-day physical remand during which Imran ensured that I was subjected to severe torture. Exactly after one year the real culprits behind this – Ali Imran – is exposed.”
“Ali Imran has been arrested for being involved in a similar kidnapping case and has been given a 12-day remand as well. The only difference is my and his case. I was innocent while Imran is guilty but the whole Punjab government machinery is bent upon saving him and Rabia. But still I am not given justice,” Ayesha said.
Interestingly, the PML-N media cell giving ads to local papers portraying Shahbaz Sharif a man of principles like Hazrat Umar. Shahbaz is taking full credit of ensuring supremacy of the law but the fact is he smartly has fooled the masses in his daughter and son-in-law case.(www.pakdestiny.com)
Court summons Hamza Shahbaz through advertisement

LAHORE: A local court on Friday ordered to publish all previous orders summoning PML-N leader and MNA Hamza Shahbaz, son of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on application filed by Ayesha Ahad Malik.
Civil Judge Ghulam Murtaza placed this order and adjourned hearing till September 18. The court also summoned Dr Rabia with whom Hamza Shahbaz wanted to marry.
In the previous hearing of the case, the court issued notice to the respondents but no one appeared in the court, neither the respondents nor their counsel.
The petitioner of the case, Ayesha Ahad Malik said she was his wife and legally he was bound to ask her about his marriage with any other lady. She said he played with her life and was ignoring her and even denied of being her husband. Ayesha, the daughter of PML-Q former MPA Ahad Malik, challenged the likely marriage of Hamza Shahbaz and Dr Rabia,
The petitioner prayed to the court to stop Hamza from contracting other marriage with Dr Rabia.
Writ on election spendings: A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday seeking directions to fix limited amount of Rs 300,000 as per candidate for annual elections of SCBA.
Watan party filed the petition through its chairman Barrister Zafarullah Khan under Article 184 (3), Article 2-A, 9, 9, 25, 31 & 37 read with section 13 and 55 of the constitution at Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court.
The petitioner said corrupt practices and excessive expenditures in annual elections of SCBA, such as to hold lunch, tea, dinner parties for the voters and arrange transports to bring them to polling station, booths and issuing perchi containing particulars of voters, including name, polling stations, booths and serial number of the voters in the electoral roll should be banned.
He said candidates take part in elections for their vested interests and spend million of rupees to get maximum votes. They make efforts for their personal interests and do not focus on the welfare of the legal fraternity, he said.
The petitioner prayed to the court to direct the candidates not to spend money more than Rs 300,000 on the occasion of annual bar elections.
LHC seeks final report on hajj quota: Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday directed ministry of religious affairs to submit report regarding its meeting with Saudi embassy about hajj quota.
The Chief Justice sought final report on the matter pertaining distribution of hajj quota to new tour hajj tour operators. On Friday as proceeding started, Deputy Attorney General Naseem Kashmiri appeared before the court and submitted that only five companies approached them while no other company did bother to contract ministry concerned on the disputed matter.
Hajj Director Lahore Muhammad Saeed Malik was also present in the court. DAG told ministry had its meeting with Saudi embassy and that is why it could not submit report regarding the distribution of quota to new hajj tour operators. He sought time, on which the court directed the federal government to submit its final report about the distribution of hajj quota to new tour operators and adjourned hearing till September 10.
During the course of proceeding, Chief Justice remarked the courts have to intervene into the affairs of the executive when it fails to fulfill its responsibilities.
The CJ added that with this necessary intervention of the courts, the courts are accused of crossing its boundaries.
The petitioners said due to unjust distribution of Hajj quota to the private tour operators, it has become impossible for a common operator to bear Hajj expenses. They say Hajj policy had been sent to the federal government for approval, and a plan has been made to dish out the quota on personal like and dislike.
They said the Supreme Court in its July 7, 2011 order had observed that the government should observe transparency at the time of making next year (2012) Hajj Policy.
They pointed out that last year ministry and 726 tour operators had pleaded that money had been received from pilgrims and their lists had been sent to Saudi Arabia. Petitioners say ministry is again giving quota to these tour operators and door has been closed for new tour operators.
Court extends bail of Tauqeer, Talha: A special central judge on Friday extended till September 14, interim bail of former Punjab Chief Minister Principal Secretary Tauqeer Shah and Staff Officer Talha Barki accused of releasing fake intelligence reports about the murder plot of former LHC Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Shahreef.
Federal Investigation Agency sought more time to submit record of the case. The court accepting the plea of FIA extended interim bail till Sep 14, of both accused.
FIA had registered the FIR against them on charges of issuing a false intelligence report on murder plot of former LHC chief justice Khwaja Sharif.
The agency accused them of hatching a conspiracy by managing issuance of a false intelligence report about the murder plot in a id to create differences among the federal government, provincial government and judiciary.
The accused Rehman through his counsel submitted that he had no role in the alleged conspiracy. He said the FIA implicated him in the case to serve the ulterior motives of PPP-led federal government. He prayed that protective bail be granted him and the FIA be restrained from arresting him.

According to the annual Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), 12,580 people were killed all across Pakistan in 2010. Thousands of innocents fall prey to sectarianism, ethnocentrism, drone attacks, abductions and judicial killings every year. Between August 24 and September 26, 2011, 166 people committed suicide in Pakistan.
So why doesn’t Pakistan tread the same road as Egypt or Tunisia? Why don’t we have throngs of protestors on our streets? Why aren’t the establishment and the existing political forces on the verge of a collapse?
There are two types of Pakistanis with two types of thought engines apparently.
The first type of Pakistanis believe in an external locus of control and they attribute the nation’s shortcomings to their sins; thanks to religious agitators.
The second type thinks that the establishment is the reason we have never prospered as a nation. Every Pakistani is willing to spend hours on criticism; what if they spent the same time taking charge of things instead?
Pakistan’s ruling political parties have had years of experience trying to assert themselves over the powerful establishment, and they have learnt their lessons the hard way, no doubt. Nawaz may threaten mass protests but he fears the military taking over at the back of his mind.
Don’t we remember that street power played an imperative role in the resignation of ex-president Pervez Musharraf in 2008?The movement which was spearheaded by the legal community, paved way for the same old political demagogues.
Pakistani people protest for a change in government, but not for a complete wipeout of leadership.
Loyalty to one’s leader is imperative in Pakistan and don’t you think otherwise. The masses protest on the orders of their leadership which, obviously, would never aim to wipe itself out.
Political parties in Pakistan are still an effective tool for political mobilisation and association. Unlike Egypt and Tunisia, Pakistan is witnessing the emergence of a civil society. Pakistani media ─ no matter how much it believes in propaganda and sensationalism ─ is still free to a great extent. Many anchors have gone beyond limits to criticise the existing regime and the establishment even. This is surprising as Egypt is the most deplorable and Tunisia is the most repressive country for journalists if compared to Pakistan.
The most commonly missed things are those that are right in front of our eyes. In all the commotion, we have failed to notice that there is a process underway; a journey to democracy and power distribution. The existence of a free press, elections, political party system and a defying judiciary has enabled Pakistan to survive in these tumultuous times. According to Pakistani political pundits, the existing political structure is better than an unknown political order.
The conclusion is clear; Pakistan may see a lot of political instability in the future, but it is unlikely to witness an Egyptian style revolution.
