Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan: A New Age Dawns or More of the Same?

Nawaz Sharif is back. And back with a big enough chunk of parliament that he won’t have to form a coalition government. After a record number of Pakistanis showed up at the polls and dumped the delinquent Pakistan People’s Party out of power, many Pakistanis have rejoiced with hope that their country is on the brink of a new period of prosperity.

We don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but we don’t share that optimism. Not so long ago Nawaz Sharif wasn’t much more than a corrupt thief, like many of his colleagues in the Pakistani civilian political elite. He and his party have visible links to some very nasty groups of sectarian militants, especially in the Punjab, a PML-N stronghold. Pakistan’s deep state, where the real power lies, doesn’t seem likely to let Sharif do more with his time in office than take the blame for the government’s inevitable failures and economic setbacks.

Sharif will get blamed for all the potholes on Pakistan’s terrible streets, all the hours when the electricity isn’t running, all the schools that aren’t open and all the jobs that aren’t being created. And as ever, the parliamentary majority is for sale and doesn’t represent a coherent political force, except when it comes to fighting for spoils and graft.

Pakistan is on the brink of a new era but only in the sense that one group of corrupt politicians have been dumped out of office in exchange for another group of equally corrupt civilians. The country still faces the same problems it faced five years ago and will likely face five years from today.

This article was written before the Pakistan Election and is proving to be prophetic. Well done Russel Meade!

DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN, IMF’s JEWISH & INDIAN BANKERS HAVE EYES ON PAKISTAN’S NUCLEAR & MISSILE PROGRAM: NAWAZ SHARIF IS THEIR GO TO GUY

 

20110509In 2000, Gen,(R) Musharraf’s dictatorship received $668  Million Loan from IMF, according Ahmed Rashid. There been no accountability of how the money was spent from this loan. The money seems to have disappeared into thin air. Pakistani people are left holding the bag.  IMF tranche was taken out ostensibly to prevent  Musharraf’s military regime from having to defaulting on its foreign debt. The government of Nawaz Sharif refused to implement IMF conditions. Even though, the Musharraf military regime had carried out some reforms including devaluation of the rupee, raising prices of petrol, gas and electricity and trying to broaden the tax base.

At present just over 1.6 per cent of the population pay income tax and the country is in a dire debt trap while its economy remains in acute recession.

Thousands of wealthy Pakistanis moved their assets since Musharraf’s military coup, and local and foreign investment came to a standstill.

During Musharraf’s time, an Islamabad based Western diplomat is quoted as saying:  “The key to success is whether Gen Musharraf will use the breathing space given by the IMF to carry out meaningful economic and social reforms, which so far he has balked at doing.”

The IMF at that time was  demanding a one third increase in poverty alleviation, money that will have to come from cuts in defence or military budget and in the bureaucracy.

Indian Director: Anoop Singh has been Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund since November 2008. Before that, Mr. Singh was Director of the Western Hemisphere Department.

Mr. Singh, an Indian national, holds graduate and post graduate degrees from the universities of Bombay, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics. His other appointments at the IMF have included: Director, Special Operations in the Office of the Managing Director; Senior Advisor, Policy Development and Review Department; Assistant Director, European Department; and IMF Resident Representative in Sri Lanka.His additional work experience includes: Special Advisor to the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (I.G. Patel and Manmohan Singh); Senior Economic Advisor to the Vice President, Asia Region, the World Bank; Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University; and sometime lecturer in Bombay University.

Jewish Director,Mr. David Lipton assumed the position of First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund on September 1, 2011. He served as a Special Advisor to the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund starting July 26, 2011 before assuming his duties as First Deputy Managing Director.

 

If Nawaz Sharif turns to IMF, Anoop Singh and David Lipton will focus on cutting Pakistan’s Defence Spending, Nuclear, and Ballistic Missile Programs. Jews and Indians never forget their primary goal is not to serve the interests of the institution like IMF, they represent. Their primary goal is to serve their own hidden agenda to their nations and religious affiliations.

Pakistan for any loans to bail out the current Nawaz Sharif government.

China: The only Hope 

The West will also be demanding that the government should repress Islamist fundamentalists and terrorism, improve Pakistan’s appalling human rights record, moderate its policy towards India and cease military support for the Taliban in Afghanistan( a figment of Western imagination and Indian propaganda).

Nawaz Sharif is willing to accept all Western surrogate lender IMF’s conditionalities. While, a dictator Gen.(R)Musharraf resisted IMF conditionalities,

Nawaz Sharif is eager and willing to oblige, while Pakistani people get the short end of the stick.

To Nawaz Sharif, power is an opiate, which increases his wealth and Pakistan is his money machine or ATM.

How I wish the above news going rounds on the internet is not true. And if it is true, nothing could be more ridiculous than it. Would Nawaz Shareef look any more dignified in it than Manmohan Singh in his cotton Kurta Pyjama?  Why can’t he emulate his favourite Indian leader in matters of austerity and simplicity?  How would he sermonize the nation to shun ostentation and be not extravagant, if he himself cannot practice frugality?Deegar ra naseehat – Khud Mian fasihat!! Incidentally, If it is so, someone must be taking him for a big ride by selling him a so called designer’s sherwani for 15 lacs! I wonder how many millions the “coronation” Shalwar to match the sherwani would cost ?! I think, a whole lot of school kids in some poor locality of Pakistan could be outfitted with their clothes and uniforms with that kind of money. Remember? only yesterday, the Chinese PM asked the GOP that the money to be spent on h is reception should be diverted for the poor’s welfare.  That is what true leaders are and that’s how they care for the poor.

And, here we have some spending millions on their ‘coronation’ costumes.  Does it not speak of the real worth of them? How small they are in their real stature and size that they have to prop up their personality by making use of such props?!  One wonders how much would the rest of the regalia, the receptions, the banquets and other ceremonies cost to the poor national exchequer on this occasion.

Do Pakistanis Deserve a Charismatic Leader like Imran Khan?

A Greedy Pakistani government minister, as told to BBC. This is the mentality of the cabal of jagirdars, zamindar,industrialists, and so-called entrepreneurs serving foreign masters. Their god is almighty dollar NOT  Almighty Allah. Election rigger, Nawaz Sharif, his buddy Malik Riaz and his Chalis Choor, including, the village idiots Saad Rafique, Mushahidullah, Pervez Rashid, and a coterie of Kashmiris will vanish from the political horizon 

An Short Introspection or Self Examination

There is a healthy streak of pessimistic cynicism in many Pakistanis.  If you tell them that so and so has bought a new car, their response would be, “haram kay paisay say lee ho gee.”  If you say that a woman is beautiful, they will quickly try to assassinate her character and question her morals.  Although, they carry their faith in their pocket, but in practical terms, the practice of faith in human interactions among Pakistanis is almost non-existent.  Every one has a hustle as to how to get their needs fulfilled by others. Never to fulfill others needs. Hustle, hustle, hustle is the opiate of Pakistani society these days. And, where does it comes? The answer is simple.  The country has been run by a bunch for crooks (with few exceptions) for the last 65 years.  It seems that the corrupt environment has caused a gene for honesty (if there is such) to mutate and convert to a gene for roguishness or corruption. 

 

Why Secular West’s  Scientific Rationalism Cannot Explain Pakistan’s Survival ?

The Juggernaut of Unending Crisis and the Psychotic Depression of Pakistan’s Enemies, When These Crisis Makes Pakistan Stronger, Instead of Self-Destruct!

The country has faced a tidal wave of crises, since its inception, to list a few:

  • With an average of more than one suicide bombing every week, 35,000 Pakistanis have died since 9/11.
  • In the province of Balochistan there is a five-year-old nationalist insurgency that shows no sign of going away.
  • The law and order situation in Karachi – the country’s biggest city – is now so dire that there are an average of 4.7 murders every night. Most are politically motivated targeted killings.
  • It’s the sort of thing that has led many in the West to predict an impoverished, jihadi-run, nuclear state.
  • The country’s democratic development has been thwarted by repeated coups. Its most effective political leaders have been assassinated.

Western academics, talking heads, cynics, and historical Pakistan bashers are now debating whether the country is in fact more stable than many people think!

But, there is another explanation beyond scientific rationalism as pointed out by Professor John M. Artz of Information Systems in the School of Business at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C, integrates his studies of philosophy and computers to conclud, ” that today’s “rational” model of knowledge will soon pass.  During the later half of the 20th century, scholars worshipped at the altar of scientific rationalism, the belief that knowledge is obtained through objective empirical observation of physical phenomenon. This prevailing view held that the world is out there to study independent of our perception and understanding — our goal was to understand reality as it exists. Things like emotions and social relations were meaningless because they cannot be studied objectively as independent empirical phenomenon.”

The Factor X behind Pakistan’s Existence for Times to Come.

We would like to add the Factor X, which Islam brought forth at its genesis, and that is Taqwa.
Taqwa is a concept in Islam that is interpreted by some Islamic Scholars as God consciousness. Governance of our Universe and others (Multiple Universes) is by The Creator, Rab-il-Alimeen, “Title of Allah Ta’ala. Lord of all Creation. Literally means “Lord of the Universes“, both in the Seen and in the Unseen. Every Pakistani no matter how secular has this Factor X buried deep within his or her psyche. they may not admit it. They may rebel against it, but it keeps coming back in good times and bad.

Ar-Rahman, Ar-Rahim, Al-Wadud (Allah’s name, Al Wadud, the Loving-Kind, means He desires and does good for all even if that good isn’t reciprocated. Al Wadud is the epitome of Unconditional Love.)

Humans cannot define or describe God, they can only describe God’s attributes, because, if they could, than, they would themselves be God (Nauzobillah). God is in human conciousness.Though love is an emotion, one can only feel love, but one cannot describe love through empiricism. It cannot be captured in a bottle and sold, although some scam artists have tried it. Similarly, God (in Arabic Allah) lies in the Realm of Human Spiritual Perception. Empiricism can only be applied to Allah’s Creation, but NOT, to the Creator.

And that is why one has to Attain Knowledge of Allah’s Creation, to Attain closeness to Allah.

God is beyond human comprehension.

Humans cannot even describe his minutest Creation the Quarks, the Charms, and the Bosons. Physicist can describe their behavior, but no one has ever seen one with a naked eye, except to tracks in Hadron Collider.

 

 

 

But, it still survives and in the words of an American slang,  PAKISTANIS

Pakistan has enormous number of problems ethnic, sectarian, economic, social, cultural, environmental, and a host of other strifes.

And yet Pakistan has proven to be remarkably resilient.

 

Why do we walk the Camino de Santiago?

 

The Secret of Pakistan’s survival lies in the Steadfast Simplicity, Purity, and Faith in Allah and Deen by the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 180 Million Strong Pakistanis.

These are: 

The Majority of  THE SILENT PAKISTANIS, eke out a meagre subsistence, but, still thank their Maker, before they go to sleep at night.

 

The Purity of Faith among the HAVE-NOTS of Pakistan has given resilience to Pakistan as a nation. Pakistani masses have been through HELL and High-Water of Incessant Disasters, but still survive to dream of better days.

 

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief:

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

Verily with every difficulty there is relief.

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ

Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ

And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.

To Pakistan and its Relation to Almighty Allah apply the Words of George Herberts Poem,

The Flower

And now in age I bud again,
After so many deaths I live and write;
I once more smell the dew and rain,
And relish versing:

O my onely light,
It cannot be
That I am he
On whom thy tempests fell all night.

Islam, the Deen of most Pakistanis requires Intrinsic Trust Way Beyond Loyalty and Utmost Patience in God’s Protection, which will bring the nation from the darkness of the night of misgovernance and corruption,

And,

in belief and optimism lies the resilience of  Pakistanis.

Even the Youth of India Respect and Admire him: Watch

 

And

Imran Khan fits into the Relief, the Benevolent, Compassionate, and Merciful, Creator of Universes, promises to all humanity, including to the long suffering SILENT PAKISTANIS.

Yes, Pakistanis deserve Imran Khan. they have suffered enough already!

Pakistanis have paid their dues with “Sabr” and “Tahamul.”

This night of horrors too shall pass, to the bright sunlight and and blue sky of everlasting rays of hope.

Imran’s Day will come; after Nawaz Sharif has finished his mission for his Western Masters. When Pakistani people will say to him “ENOUGH ALREADY!”
