Nahin Tera Nasheman Qasr-e-Sultani Ke Gunbad Par
Tu Shaheen Hai, Basera Kar Paharon Ki Chatanon Mein
Translation:
Thy abode is not on the dome of a royal palace,
You are an eagle and should live on the rocks of mountains.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is widely recognized as a strong fighter arm. Wikipedia states it is the largest Air Force in the Muslim world in terms of aircraft fleet and has been involved in various combat operations since its establishment in 1947. It’s also been ranked 7th among the world’s most powerful air forces.
Here’s why the PAF is considered a strong fighter arm:
PL-15: A long-range missile with an operational range between 200 to 300 km, providing a significant advantage over air-to-air missiles fielded by India’s fighter aircraft.
PL-10: A short-range infrared-guided missile comparable to the U.S. AIM-9X, the PL-10 is also used by China’s most advanced fighter, the J-20 Mighty Dragon.
In 2022, Pakistan began receiving PL-15 missiles for its JF-17C Block III, the latest iteration of the aircraft, which was launched by PAC at its Kamra production facility in northern Islamabad in 2023.

Many sources claim that Pakistani fighter pilots are highly skilled and considered among the best in the world. Some even attribute this reputation to specific pilots and their achievements in aerial combat. For example, M.M. Alam, a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilot, is credited with downing five Indian aircraft in a single sortie during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, which is considered a world record. Another notable pilot, Saiful Azam, served with the PAF and later the Bangladesh Air Force, and is credited with downing several Israeli aircraft during the Six-Day War.
