MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain, of late, appears to have landed in a deep trouble. He is presumably faced with a double jeopardy. He has come under suspicion of his connection with Dr. Imran Farooq’s murder. Secondly he has picked up a row with the Supreme Court of Pakistan on delimitation of constituencies.
The investigation of Dr. Imran Farooq has, of late, assumed new twists and turns. The London Metropolitan Police has stepped up the investigation about the murder of Dr. Imran Farooq, a former colleague and friend of Altaf Hussain.
Imran Farooq a one-time celebrity and leading light of MQM was murdered in mysterious circumstances on September 16, 2010, outside his home at Green Lane, Edgeware in North London. Dr Imran Farooq had co-founded the All Pakistan Muhajir Students Organization (APMSO), and also had been the deputy convener of the party.
It was after almost a lull of two years, that the Metropolitan Police, in connection with Dr. Imran’s murder, raided the business office of Altaf Hussain in Edgeware and conducted comprehensive search for two days. The intensive search was the follow up action of the various pieces of vital evidence and important tips that the London police was able to collect since 2010.
It was also reported that although several persons were interrogated yet no arrests were made. British High Commissioner in Pakistan Adam Thomson also confirmed in a statement that Dr. Imran Farooq was a British national and their police was investigating a murder of its citizen. The second jeopardy came as a backlash of his stunning remarks directed at the Supreme Court in which he argued that “that delimitation of electoral constituencies was not the job of the courts, and it would not help the cause of peace”.
He obliquely warned that “those who were trying to hatch conspiracies against the MQM would be eliminated. In response to his threatening outburst, the Supreme Court retaliated by issuing a contempt of court notice to him with orders to appear in the court and explain his point of view. Understandably he cannot come to Pakistan and thus there might be more retaliation from the Supreme Court.
It has been observed in various media columns that he stands a frightening chance of losing his residency in England due to his stinging remarks about the supreme court of Pakistan. A senior Pakistan-born and England-based lawyer Sibgatullah Qadri stated that if a foreign court convicts a British citizen against contempt charges, the British government can terminate the citizenship rights of such individual. He asserted that in Britain the contempt of court is considered as serious a crime as murder and is not taken lightly.
Altaf Hussain sneaked out of Pakistan one month before the launching of the Operation clean-up from June 19, 1992 to August 14, 1994. His flight from Pakistan also was the result of an attempt on his life on 21 December 1991 that was the third of its kind. He was given political asylum by the British government and is staying there since then.
Altaf Hussain founded All Pakistan Muhajir Student Organization APMSO in June 1978 that was later renamed as Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM) in March 1984. It was finally renamed as Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in June 1997.
Altaf Hussain with a mercurial and audacious temperament has been issuing statements that cut across the two nation ideology thus denunciating the creation of Pakistan. In one such statement he is recorded to have said that,
“Division of the subcontinent was the biggest blunder in the history of mankind and Nehru and Abdul Kalam Azad are responsible for it because they rejected that grouping formula and greater autonomy for Muslim majority province of India. If they accepted it then Jinnah would have never demanded separate Pakistan and Jinnah was ready for co-exist within India.”
Altaf Hussain was having 3576 cases for various charges against him. But all the cases were dropped under the National Reconciliation Ordinance issued by the former President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, on 5 October 2007.

A DEADLY KILLER KILLED A NASTY KILLER
We know that the chronic culprit, gangster, horrible tyrant and mass murderer Altaf Hussain ordered the assassination of his hunting dog, Imran Farooq, himself a mass murderer of Karachi in the 1990s.
Almost everyone knows the killing prowess, history of, and murder spree of this most deadly and despicable barbarian known as Altaf “Bhai”. “JO QUAID KA GHADDAR HAI – WOH MAUT KA HAQDAR HAI”, has been an old slogan of Altaf’s ‘chamchas’. Quit MQM and lay your life.
Altaf is on a highly objectionable asylum in the UK while he should have been handed over to the Pakistan government as a dangerous criminal, the most wanted man on record in 1992. The British government keeps him as a stooge to be used at the most appropriate time. Did you notice the fake ‘grief’ of Altaf on TV? Did you notice the composed though stern face of Imran Farooq’s father? He knows.
It is rumoured that Scotland Yard have got the assassin since day one. They are using delaying tactics trying to save the neck of the criminal Altaf.
The national cricketing hero-turned-politician Imran Khan can now file a case against Altaf and the London Metropolitan Police. We will support him to the hilt.
Now see what they are trying to hide.

Who killed Dr Imran Farooq?

The London Metropolitan police known as the New Scotland Yard would be able, in due course, to unravel the assassins of the founder member, former convener, and deputy convener of MQM, Dr. Imran Farooq who was stabbed to death in Mill Hills locality in London last Thursday 5:30 PM London time..
But presently it is an incident shrouded in mystery. The culprits cannot be captured so soon by any mechanism until the London police gathers enough evidence and connects strings related with the murder. In the meantime, the police has shifted Dr Imran’s wife to an undisclosed place for either safety or for investigation.
Presently, media and other sources are expressing and analyzing various aspects and motives behind Dr. Imran’s assassination, a high profile member of the MQM though presently estranged and rather disgruntled with MQM. One of the fingers being pointed out are towards the high command of MQM that may have been wary of Dr. Imran’s being the repository of many crucial secrets of this party that if spilled could land this organization in deep trouble.
It is a well know fact that Dr Imran was not having quite cordial or even normal relations with the top leadership of the MQM for quite some time. This strained and sour nature of relationship can be gauged from his expulsion from the MQM two times and suspension four times. He was under suspension and cut off from the party and its leadership for over two years until his death.
While living in exile that he chose with Altaf Hussain simultaneously, he kept a distance from his overbearing boss in the last several years and according to reports, they hardly spoke with each other except on very few occasions. He was an asylee like Altaf Hussain and was leading a low profile and modest life in London.
There is no gainsaying that there is certainly a sinister plot and well laid out conspiracy behind the murder of Dr. Imran whose role during the pioneering stages of MQM (previously Mohajar Qaumi Movement) was that of an ideologue, a planner, and an architect. But the leading cause for his estrangement or disenchantment with the party was its paradigm of functioning as a closely-knit mafia organization that tolerated no dissention or even criticism on the party boss.
It is also being rumored that perhaps after being in political limbo for such a long time, Dr Imran was in the process of launching his own political party although he was still a member of the party though under suspension.
The conditions, under which Dr Imran who came to London in 1992 was killed, are murky and appear to be intriguing. If he was safe and lived normal life for about 18 years how come that all of a sudden, he was put to death at a stage when he was like a spent force as far his political career was concerned.
If it is true that before his death he had participated in a special meeting convened in connection with the celebration of MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s 57th birthday, then there seems to be more than meets the eye. Although a grief, stricken and sobbing Altaf Hussain looked to be totally devastated by the tragic death of a very close former colleague, yet if the occurrence of the meeting is established then the case will take a new turn.
There is also another possibility that gang war that has been simmering between the rival Mohajar factions, (MQM Haq Prast led by Altaf Hussain and MQM Haqiqi led by Afaq Khan), all these years has spilled over to England. Dr. Imran’s murder might have been also committed by perpetrators and elements that might be hoping that it would somehow implicate the MQM, especially this party’s chief so that their revolutionary mission of rooting out feudalism and reaching out to the rest of Pakistan is nipped before it comes to a full bloom.
Dr. Imran was from Bihar and therefore was known as a Bihari Mohajar with sizeable backing within MQM. It has not yet been established if he had been meeting with MQM’s (Haq Prast) rival group Haqiqi headed by Amir Khan and Afaq Ahmed now in jail for quite some time. That one clue if proven would give a new dimension to the death mystery of Dr. Imran Farooq.
Since it is too early to preempt or predict anything even for the best of future tellers, let us wait which way the investigation of Scotland Yard goes and how the layers of this very cold-blooded murder of a high profile political figure are peeled off. But keeping in view the past outstanding performance of British police there is every possibility that finally the real assassins and their backers would be unearthed.

QATIL BHATTA BHAYYA ALTAF HUSSAIN
This is a great article dear Sister Naila and Journalist Brother Qureshi, Thank you.
Born at Karachi in 1960 to parents from Rampur India, I was a strong young high ranking officer in the middle of things in the Karachi of 1980s and 90s. Note that I am an Urdu-speaking son of Mahajir parents, but I am a Pakistani first.
Altaf Hussain Bhatta ‘Bhayya’ and Killer Imran Farooq were commanding target shootings of non-Urdu people at a mass, no, a massive scale. They ran the most cruel torture cells ever, worse than those of Nazis. “REHEM HARAM, REHEM HARAM” (NO MERCY, NO MERCY) was the slogan I had heard from both of these criminals.
These traitors wanted an independent Jinnahpur and yet they had no soft corner for the unfortunate 100,000 Biharis stuck in Bangladesh. Azeem Tariq was killed by their stooges for having some discipline and compassion so they killed him in cold blood. MQM Haqeeqi with Afaq were a much better organized party and good humans. Who got rid of them? I don’t need to tell you.
For every Firauon there is a Musa. What a wonderful man was Gen. Naseerullah Babar, just a Musa of the times. He gave the BHATTA criminals their own medicine. I was assigned the responsibility of dismantling 50 torture cells and to this day I thank Allah for wiping out those cells, getting rid of about 100 killers and throwing “Doctor” Imran Farooq on the ground and then sending him underground. The general’s plan swept away 1700 plus Bhatta-collectors to hell in the first week of operations alone. Sohrab Hussain is proud and grateful to his Creator to this day for bringing sanity back to our beautiful Karachi along with my 1,000 plain clothes law enforcement personnel.
QATIL BHATTA BHAYYA ALTAF HUSSAIN ran to London and lives on public charity and Bhatta to this day. It appears that time is up for the fatty khinzeer-faced beggar-killer. I still enjoy my ten forceful slaps on the face of the Bhatta Bhayya before letting him live as the top class General commanded me. Bhatta Bhayya was crying down on the ground as you saw him crying on Thursday and Friday TV this week.
If Bhatta Bhayya is the killer of a killer, as it appears, I think MLP would not let him go except to the gallows. Our group of 130 officials have made calls to the CTB of Scotland Yard.

A foreign sponsored terrorist, Altaf Hussain has turned Karachi into new Beirut. This demonic and evil to the core personality initiated the descent of Karachi into hell. He sits fat and pretty in London, under the care and protection of the British Government and sponsors terror killings in Karachi. The British are hypocrites. They protect and promote terrorism directed against Pakistan from a quiet street in London. The British hypocrites extracted hundreds of “terrorism suspects,” from Pakistan, but adamantly refuse the hand-over the absconder andNo.1. Terrorist from Pakistan. And, then they ask the question, “Why do they hate us.” They hate you, because of your duplicitous, conniving colonial character, and crusade based embedded hatred of Islam and Muslims.
The Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), led by self-exiled leader, Altaf Hussain, tops the list of target killers and extortionists in Karachi, a police report revealed on Thursday.
The report presented before the Supreme Court by the Inspector General Police Sindh says that 224 target killers and extortionists (bhatta khur) have been arrested since 2011.
Those arrested include 81 MQM’s target killers and ‘bhatta khur’, the report said, tabled during the hearing of Karachi’s lawlessness case.
According to the French political scientist, violence in Karachi was not existential but instrumental. Mr Gayer said the proliferation of political armed groups started in 2007, linking it with the involvement of Awami National Party (ANP) and Aman Committees of the PPP. He said that all socio-religious and political parties were increasingly using violent means in order to make their presence felt, which had made the metropolitan city simply ungovernable.
“The way how violence is transforming is very difficult for people to handle. Weapons are used indiscriminately in which civilians lose their lives, the last few years saw extremely important transformation of violence”, he remarked.
Karachi’s situation, he said, had become more violent after the involvement of Sunni Tehrik and Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), which besides fighting for its own turf, were also pitched against each other. The MQM, which was initially more focused against the ANP, was now facing a new challenge in the form of Taliban — found in various pockets of the city, said the writer.
The Taliban, according to the author had been using the city, not only for generation of money through kidnapping for ransom but also for recuperation of its injured and tired members. Analysing the changing demography of the city, the French political scientist argued that the Sindhi population was increasing and the Urdu speaking community were no more in the majority.
HEGEMONY OF MQM UNDER THREAT
“The pre-violence history of Karachi shows that clustering of Karachi happened after shifting of people from mixed areas but groupings started on the basis of ethnic, linguistic and sectarian basis. Hegemony of MQM is increasingly under threat which it is wrongly trying to project as Talibanisation of the city” he underlined.
During the question-answer session, Mr Gayer said that since the government machinery was directly involved in extortion, killings and other criminal acts, there was absolutely no chance of any improvement in governance of the city in the near future.
Mr Gayer has also collaborated with Mr Christophe Jaffrelot in two books, which include “Armed Militias of South Asia: Fundamentalists, Maoists and Separatists” and “Muslims in Indian Cities: Trajectories of Marginalisation”, both published by Hurst/Columbia University Press. His first single-authored book, “Karachi: Ordered Disorder and the Struggle for the City”, will be published by Hurst and Oxford University Press in 2013.

Altaf’s Apology
The apex court has accepted the apology of the contemnor Altaf Hussain. The apology was unconditional and the MQM Chief had placed himself entirely at the mercy of the court. He has also taken his contemptuous words back, synonymous for which in Urdu is “Thook kar chatna”.
Though it was extremely magnanimous and gracious of the SCP to let him off but would it not have been appropriate to make him tender the apology publicly and recite orally all that he has submitted in writing to the court in front of a mammoth rally in Karachi similar to one in which he had committed the offence in the first place. His contemptuous and seething rants and utterings were heard by the millions in the arena and on almost all TV channels in the country, but how many would now know of the exact tenor and tone of his apology?!
It has become a sort of customary to insult the judiciary and get away with a simple apology. The court can always demonstrate its large heartedness and forgive, but rendering of a public apology in front of the same crowd and under the similar circumstances in which the contempt was committed will act as an exemplary deterrent for all would be delinquent contemnors.
