AYESHA AHAD SAYS SHAHBAZ’S SON-IN-LAW ALI IMRAN WAS BEHIND HER TORTURE EPISODE

By Iran Salim

Islamabad, Oct 20 (www.pakdestiny.com) While Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif smartly rescue his daughter Rabia and even gain politically by presenting his son-in-law Ali Imran in the bakery boy torture case to police that was not even ready to quiz him, Hamza Shahbaz’s third wife Aysha Ahad identifies Ali Imran ‘a man behind her torture’.

Ayesha told Pak Destiny “Ali Imran last year with the help of Hamza got me arrested in a fake kidnapping case. I was given a 10-day physical remand during which Imran ensured that I was subjected to severe torture. Exactly after one year the real culprits behind this – Ali Imran – is exposed.”

“Ali Imran has been arrested for being involved in a similar kidnapping case and has been given a 12-day remand as well. The only difference is my and his case. I was innocent while Imran is guilty but the whole Punjab government machinery is bent upon saving him and Rabia. But still I am not given justice,” Ayesha said.
Interestingly, the PML-N media cell giving ads to local papers portraying Shahbaz Sharif a man of principles like Hazrat Umar. Shahbaz is taking full credit of ensuring supremacy of the law but the fact is he smartly has fooled the masses in his daughter and son-in-law case.(www.pakdestiny.com)

Hamza Shahbaz and Ayesha Ahad Malik marriage case

Court summons Hamza Shahbaz through advertisement

F.P. Report
LAHORE: A local court on Friday ordered to publish all previous orders summoning PML-N leader and MNA Hamza Shahbaz, son of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on application filed by Ayesha Ahad Malik.
Civil Judge Ghulam Murtaza placed this order and adjourned hearing till September 18. The court also summoned Dr Rabia with whom Hamza Shahbaz wanted to marry.
In the previous hearing of the case, the court issued notice to the respondents but no one appeared in the court, neither the respondents nor their counsel.
The petitioner of the case, Ayesha Ahad Malik said she was his wife and legally he was bound to ask her about his marriage with any other lady. She said he played with her life and was ignoring her and even denied of being her husband. Ayesha, the daughter of PML-Q former MPA Ahad Malik, challenged the likely marriage of Hamza Shahbaz and Dr Rabia,
The petitioner prayed to the court to stop Hamza from contracting other marriage with Dr Rabia.
Writ on election spendings: A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday seeking directions to fix limited amount of Rs 300,000 as per candidate for annual elections of SCBA.
Watan party filed the petition through its chairman Barrister Zafarullah Khan under Article 184 (3), Article 2-A, 9, 9, 25, 31 & 37 read with section 13 and 55 of the constitution at Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court.
The petitioner said corrupt practices and excessive expenditures in annual elections of SCBA, such as to hold lunch, tea, dinner parties for the voters and arrange transports to bring them to polling station, booths and issuing perchi containing particulars of voters, including name, polling stations, booths and serial number of the voters in the electoral roll should be banned.
He said candidates take part in elections for their vested interests and spend million of rupees to get maximum votes. They make efforts for their personal interests and do not focus on the welfare of the legal fraternity, he said.
The petitioner prayed to the court to direct the candidates not to spend money more than Rs 300,000 on the occasion of annual bar elections.
LHC seeks final report on hajj quota: Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday directed ministry of religious affairs to submit report regarding its meeting with Saudi embassy about hajj quota.
The Chief Justice sought final report on the matter pertaining distribution of hajj quota to new tour hajj tour operators.

On Friday as proceeding started, Deputy Attorney General Naseem Kashmiri appeared before the court and submitted that only five companies approached them while no other company did bother to contract ministry concerned on the disputed matter.
Hajj Director Lahore Muhammad Saeed Malik was also present in the court. DAG told ministry had its meeting with Saudi embassy and that is why it could not submit report regarding the distribution of quota to new hajj tour operators. He sought time, on which the court directed the federal government to submit its final report about the distribution of hajj quota to new tour operators and adjourned hearing till September 10.
During the course of proceeding, Chief Justice remarked the courts have to intervene into the affairs of the executive when it fails to fulfill its responsibilities.
The CJ added that with this necessary intervention of the courts, the courts are accused of crossing its boundaries.
The petitioners said due to unjust distribution of Hajj quota to the private tour operators, it has become impossible for a common operator to bear Hajj expenses. They say Hajj policy had been sent to the federal government for approval, and a plan has been made to dish out the quota on personal like and dislike.
They said the Supreme Court in its July 7, 2011 order had observed that the government should observe transparency at the time of making next year (2012) Hajj Policy.
They pointed out that last year ministry and 726 tour operators had pleaded that money had been received from pilgrims and their lists had been sent to Saudi Arabia.

Petitioners say ministry is again giving quota to these tour operators and door has been closed for new tour operators.
Court extends bail of Tauqeer, Talha: A special central judge on Friday extended till September 14, interim bail of former Punjab Chief Minister Principal Secretary Tauqeer Shah and Staff Officer Talha Barki accused of releasing fake intelligence reports about the murder plot of former LHC Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Shahreef.
Federal Investigation Agency sought more time to submit record of the case. The court accepting the plea of FIA extended interim bail till Sep 14, of both accused.
FIA had registered the FIR against them on charges of issuing a false intelligence report on murder plot of former LHC chief justice Khwaja Sharif.
The agency accused them of hatching a conspiracy by managing issuance of a false intelligence report about the murder plot in a id to create differences among the federal government, provincial government and judiciary.
The accused Rehman through his counsel submitted that he had no role in the alleged conspiracy. He said the FIA implicated him in the case to serve the ulterior motives of PPP-led federal government. He prayed that protective bail be granted him and the FIA be restrained from arresting him.

NAWAZ”KHUGOO” SHARIF BIOGRAPHY: THE THUG OF 21ST CENTURY

WHO IS NAWAZ “KUGOO” SHARIF? A BIOGRAPHY

images-4
Nawaz Sharif is widely acknowledged to be a highly incompetent person, with a low mediocre IQ. level. The brain behind him was that of his late “Abba Jee” (‘daddy’) – the mastermind and the main decision maker behind the scene.

The following is an excellent programme exposing some of the corruption conducted by Nawaz Sharif by the host of DM Digital, Farhan Aslam, who also used to work for ARY Digital a few years ago. The report has been divided into six segments

After that Nawaz Sharif had completed his education, in the 3rd division in B.A from Govt College, Lahore as he got admission in Govt College Lahore, on recommendations, and he used to be called in the class as “Kuggoo’ because he never used to participate in the class nor replied to any question he has ever been asked by the lecturer, told by his class mates.

Unknown-49His father Mian Muhammad Sharif started him in the business. However, this proved a disaster. As a second option Mian Muhammad Sharif set him up with Pakistani actor Saeed Khan Rangeela to get him into acting (something which Nawaz Sharif wanted). A few days later Saeed Khan Rangeela sent his regrets to Mian Muhammad Sharif saying that his son was too dumb for acting and movie industry. Mian Muhammad Sharif then hired cricket coaches to train his son for cricket, but his physical fitness was too low for the sport. It is rumored that by mid-day on his first day at training Nawaz Sharif threw the bat down and left the stadium saying, “This is too tough for me.”

As a last resort he paid General Ghulam Jilani Khan a considerable sum of money to introduce Nawaz Sharif to General Zia-ul-Haq recommending him for a political post, who in turn made Nawaz Sharif the Finance Minister of Punjab.
( Gen. Gilani was not offered money, in fact he had been presented a ‘White Palace’ made on a 4-kanal corner plot in Lahore Cant and it was worth Rs. 4 crores then, a s said. It was just beautiful with Victorian style round porch with a running fountain in the center. But Mian Sharif, being business man, recovered many ’4 crores’ out of the son’s post of Finance Minister of Punjab, and it was sure that Nawaz Sharif would not be able to write his designation with correct spellings )

However, this was the day when the street thugs of Mohni Road had stepped on to becoming the national thugs of Pakistan.

However, this was the day when the street thugs of Mohni Road had stepped on to becoming the national thugs of Pakistan.

The day Nawaz Sharif had become Finance Minister, the entire family’s earnings were few million rupees and had only one re-rolling mill. From there they went on to: Ittefaq Sugar Mills was set up in 1982, Brothers steel in 1983, Brother’s Textile Mills in 1986, Brothers Sugar Mills Ltd in 1986, Ittefaq Textile units in 2-3 in 1987, Khalid Siraj Textile Mills in 1988, Ramzan Buksh Textiles in 1987, Farooq Barkat (pvt) Ltd in 1985. (All on loans from the government as Ziaul Haq used to sign on his loans requests and also on loan writing off requests. That is why when PPP Govt.took-over and the written off loans were calculated by the first Public Accounts Committee, there were two at the top i.e. Choudhy brothers, 22 billions, repeat billions and Mian Sharif 21 billion, all written off by Ziaul Haq. It is still on record in PAC Report of 1989.) By the time of Zia ul Haq’s fateful plane crash, Mian Muhammad Sharif’s family was earning a net profit of US$ 3 million, up from a few million rupees. By the end of the decade their net assets were worth more than 6 billion rupees, according to their own admission, nearly US$ 350 million at the time. But this turned out to be small-change when Nawaz Sharif became the Prime Minister.
When Nawaz Sharif became prime minister, the group took a decision to secure project loans from the foreign banks and only working capital was taken from the nationalized commercial banks. The project financing from foreign banks was ostensibly secured against the foreign currency deposits, a number of which were held in benamee accounts, as repeatedly claimed by Interior Minister Naseer Ullah Babar at his press conferences. In 1992 Salman Taseer released an account of Nawaz Sharif’s corruption stating that the family had taken loans of up to 12 billion rupees, which were never paid back. On March 2, 1994, Khalid Siraj, a cousin of Nawaz Sharif claimed that the assets of the seven brothers were valued at Rs 21 billion.
During the Afghan-Soviet War Nawaz Sharif’s cousin and brother-in-law, Sohail Zia Butt started working under the drug baron Mirza Iqbal Beg, then Pakistan’s second biggest drug lord after Ayub Afridi. Mian Muhammad Sharif and his sons had a permanent share in his gambling and heroin business. In 1990 Suhail Butt won a seat on the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad ticket in the Punjab Assembly. It was through Sohail Butt’s association that Nawaz Sharif became a close associate of Mirza Iqbal Beg. It was through him that Nawaz Sharif became benami owner of many of the privatized government entities, such as Muslim Commercial Bank. Sohail Zia Butt other than getting involved in the drug business made billions in the co-operative societies’ collapse, mainly through the National Industrial Credit and Finance Corporation. It was Nawaz Sharif’s share in his cousin’s drug business which he used to buy off the generals thereby delaying the inevitable dismissal of his government.
In 1995 when Mirza Iqbal Beg was imprisoned, Sohail Zia Butt took over his drug empire. It was at this time that he became one of the biggest drug and crime bosses in Pakistan and was nicknamed the “King of Heera Mandi” and at one time all six underworld gangs of Lahore were working under him.

By 1995 family’s declared annual profits from industrial units had increased 1500% from US$ 30 million to staggering US$ 400 million.

This is the short version of how in mere 15 years small street thugs running gambling dens became leaders of a country running narcotics, underworld and smuggling empires, untouched by everyone.

part 2

Nawaz Sharif’s only agenda was to make money. In order to achieve this goal, he formed/changed laws and policies for his personal benefit and expanded his business empire by misusing his authority as Prime Minister. Interestingly enough and ironically, the PPP played a major role in exposing the corruption of Nawaz Sharif and his family. The Jamaat-e-Islami had also leveled a number of corruption allegations upon Nawaz Sharif. As we know, later Sharif and his cronies also played a role in exposing the corruption of Benazir Bhutto and her PPP. In other words, both Sharif and Bhutto have been busy over the years actively accusing each other of committing corruption.

Nawaz Sharif is widely acknowledged to be a highly incompetent person, with a low mediocre IQ. level. The brain behind him was that of his late “Abba Jee” (‘daddy’) – the mastermind and the main decision maker behind the scene.

In order to consolidate and attain more power, N. Sharif attacked every individual and institutions he felt could get in the way challenge his authority. In order to get rid of the then Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, who was despised by Sharif, the later created divisions among the judges to make life difficult for the Chief Justice. A group of judges refused to acknowledge Shah as the Chief Justice and things got so bad that a number of junior judges put hurdles in the way of the Chief Justice in order to make it difficult for him to carry out his duties. Eventually, Sharif ordered his thugs to attack the Supreme Court in order to prevent the Chief Justice from giving a ruling against him.

The police did nothing to stop Sharif’s thugs as they attacked and entered the Supreme Court. The judges inside the building barely managed to escape. The thugs, led by Sajjad Naseem and Mushtaq Tahir, Nawaz Sharif’s political secretaries, entered the court chanting anti-Sajjad slogans and destroyed the furniture.

Next, consider Nawaz Sharif’s relationship with the press and media. Two examples will suffice. On 8th May 1999, Najam Sethi, a prominent journalist of Pakistan, was arrested by the police on the orders of Sharif. Sethi has committed the crime of annoying Nawaz Sharif by writing a critical essay against him. The police broke into Sethi’s house at around 2 am and beat him up in his bedroom in front of his wife, after which he was transported off to a secret location. The police trashed Sethi’s house, broke the furniture and beat him up quite bad. Sethi was only released after a lot of international pressure had built up against Sharif. Sharif also demanded the Jang Group to get rid of all the journalists who were critical of him. To achieve this goal, Sharif and his cronies used a variety of legal and illegal means to pressure the Jang Group into compliance.

There is probably no institution in Pakistan which Nawaz Sharif did not aggressively confront in order make them comply to his wishes. Besides picking on a fight with the President, the Judiciary and the already restricted/limited media, Sharif also decided to have a confrontation with the army, the only viable institution left in Pakistan. Chief of Army Staff, General Jehangir Karamat, and Nawaz Sharif had a conflict over an issue pertaining to the national security council and both entered into a heated discussion, after which Gen. Karamat had to offer his resignation. Jehangir Karamat thus became the first Chief of Army Staff in the history of Pakistan to have left the army in this prematurely in this manner.

One by one all challenges and potential obstacles were removed from the way by Nawaz Sharif. Ghulam Ishaq Khan, Farooq Leghari, Sajjad Ali Shah, and Jehangir Karamat, as well as others, were all removed from the scene by Sharif.

After the removal of Jehangir Karamat, Sharif appointed Pervaiz Musharraf as the Chief of Army Staff. Some analysts at the time said that Sharif made this decision thinking that Pervaiz Musharraf was an Urdu speaker and did not belong to a Punjabi army family, thus very unlikely to be a threat to Sharif!

Things became sour between Sharif and Musharraf during the Kargil episode. Later, once a relative of Sharif was removed from the army by Musharraf, that was the final nail in the coffin. Sharif then decided to take his revenge and replace Gen. Musharraf with a fellow of his liking who would be controllable (the head of the ISI. at the time).

Those who think Nawaz Sharif is their leader should think twice. People of Pakistan can not be fooled by these thugs leaders in 21st century

PTI finds fault with deal for LNG import from Qatar

PTI information secretary Dr Shireen Mazari.—File Photo
Published 2013-07-23 06:59:26

ISLAMABAD: Another project initiated by the PML-N government in the energy sector has attracted criticism for its staggering price tag.

In a detailed critique, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf challenged on Monday the government’s plan to import LNG from Qatar, which it said would cost the national exchequer Rs18 billion every year for 20 years.

Last week, the government was criticised for an upward revision of the Nandipur power project’s cost from Rs22 billion to Rs57bn and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had ordered an investigation into the matter.

Terming the LNG import deal a mega scam, PTI’s information secretary Dr Shireen Mazari alleged that the ministry of petroleum and natural resources, through a hurriedly drafted summary for the Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet, had managed to benefit a particular business group.

The ECC approved on July 18 the summary for the import of LNG from Qatar by using Engro’s existing terminal at Port Qasim.

“The LNG will be procured from Conoco Phillips (CP), and not from Qatar on a government-to-government basis, as is being falsely claimed. The so-called government-to-government deal with Qatar will be through the CP, a private US energy company. So why lie to the nation that the deal is with the state of Qatar,” questioned Dr Mazari.

Substantiating her claim, the PTI information secretary said the base cost of LNG from CP was $16.99/mmbtu (million British thermal unit) plus additional cost of about $2.50/mmbtu to be paid to Engro, resulting in a re-gasified LNG cost of $19.49/mmbtu compared to the open market price of $17.707/mmbtu. “This is clearly a mega scam to rob the people of Pakistan by about $180 million, or Rs18 billion, a year,” she said.

Dr Mazari said the most damaging part of the deal was that CP/Qatari proposal would not allow any change in the price over the 20-year duration of the contract, whereas prices were expected to go down sharply over 5 to 7 years.

According to the deal, Pakistan will have to “take or pay” for the committed LNG irrespective of the country’s ability to lift or not. They have already indicated that they will not allow resale of any cargo to a third party.

She said the manipulation by the ministry of petroleum and natural resources that only Engro could provide facilities on a fast-track basis for LNG storage and its re-gasification was an attempt to fool the ECC.

CIRCUS OF INCOMPETENCE: Nawaz Sharif becomes a recluse,1/3 honeymoon passes without an agenda

Nawaz Sharif becomes a recluse,1/3 honeymoon passes without agenda

Politically Incorrect

Amir Mateen

582452_313644852057916_984887607_nThe first month of the new National Assembly and the new PML (N) government gives some contours of how Nawaz Sharif wants to run his third government in Islamabad.

For a start, the Prime Minister has become quite a recluse this time around. He keeps himself away from the Parliament, the media and even from his party members. He spoke twice to the National Assembly so far. His first speech was just a sketchy account of the government’s intentions. The second time he came to the Parliament was to announce the indictment of Pervaiz Musharraf in the treason case before it was laid before the courts.

He hardly appears before the media after becoming the Prime Minister and is only seen in photo-ops issued by the government. Even his media managers keep the journalists at arm’s length. We wait for Nawaz Sharif’s policy speech that was supposed to announce his grand agenda for this country.

The government’s pace is definitely slow. It does not give the impression of a government that has got its homework done and offers solutions on the fast track. It’s almost been a month since the National Assembly took oath and nearly 50 days since May 11 when the PML (N) knew it was coming to power.

One third of the supposed 90-day honeymoon period is over and we are yet to know the larger contours of the government objectives.

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar plans to announce his national security plan this week. Whether it matches the hype built around it and gives us hope of peace in near future–only time will tell.

More important, we hold our breath to listen to what has the entire country going through hellish days and sleepless nights—the energy plan. Already, the government backed out of its election bravado and party manifesto about resolving electricity load-shedding in two years. We just hope it’s as good—and transparent—as they claim.

But the Parliament and the public is totally out of the loop on foreign policy. We have no idea what is the government policy on Iran gas pipeline. PPP’s Naveed Qamar asked why the crucial project was missing in the budget but was not given any response. The parliament was not taken into confidence about the US-Taliban talks in Doha and Pakistan’s role in it. Despite protests in the Senate, the government did not explain the contours of our Afghanistan policy and the post-US withdrawal strategy. The Prime Minister briefly mentioned about the Chinese offer about making road and rail link from Gwadar to Khunjrab but no details were shared even as he leaves for China this week.

We know about the government intentions on peace with India but the details, again, are missing. All we hear are rumours about tension between the Special Assistant and the Advisor to the PM on foreign affairs.

Unknown-49-1Frankly, it does not look as a government that had 13 long years to prepare a shadow agenda and to groom its team for Cabinet jobs. The Cabinet core of Ishaq Dar, Chaudhary Nisar, Khawaja Asif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi are all experienced hands to run their Ministries but the challenge before them is no small either. We have reservations about other Ministers. Some are simply being trained on the job.

Ayaz Sadiq was groomed for the Railways at the Parliamentary Committees but he was promoted as the Speaker at the last minute. Khawaja Saad Rafiq is making extra effort to become Laloo Prasad Yadav of Pakistan but, in the words of a colleague, “Khawaja Sahb was made the Minister not to sort out Railways but the idea was for the Railways to sort him out.” It is rarely that the sharp-tongued Saad is seen nonplussed.

Zahid Hamid was transferred to the Ministry of Science and Technology after his name came up as one of the drafters of Musharraf’s 2007 Emergency order. Now, how will a lawyer handle a Science Ministry. And if you read the objectives of the Ministry of Science and Technology you might wonder why should it exist in the first place. His predecessor, Khurram Dastgir, an engineer by profession, is now made Privatisation Minister. “It’s akin to deputing a cobbler for a gardener’s job or making a cook run a poultry farm,” quipped a journalist. What has Rana Tanvir to do with Defence Production or Sara Afzal Tarrar with Health Ministry.

Anusha Rehman, we are told, has a degree in law but was made IT Minister because she types the minutes of official meetings on a computer. She could be a better Public Relations Minister considering the intense socializing she does in the House. Pervaiz Rashid might happily oblige her with his Information Ministry as “I have no secret funds and no power to take journalists on official junkets.” He said this in a lighter vein in the Press Gallery the other day.

The key Ministers are seen only in talk shows and are generally not accessible even when approached for their version. This could be because of tactics, arrogance or, we are forced to infer, they do not have much to say.

Riaz Pirzada, a perpetual turncoat, was made a Minister to adjust a pressure group from South Punjab. If this be the criterion, Javed Ali Shah was already seen spitting venom against the government in the corridors.

The PML (N) was smart to divert the public attention from the unpopular budget to Musharraf’s treason trial and the Swiss cases. But it’s about time the PML (N) came out with something of its own.

Luckily for the government, the opposition is equally disappointing. The PPP is only concerned about wriggling out of its corruption cases. The battalion of Sindhi Waderas that it has brought to the Assembly is pathetic is not a shadow of the PPP we once knew. And the PTI will need a lot more to make an impact. The experiment of introducing new faces and academics in the Parliament has backfired. None of them has shown any spark so far. The ‘Naya Pakistan’ has luckily a handful of old Parliamentarians to save it from utter failure.

Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd): Musharraf Singled Out

LETTER TO EDITOR

June 29th, 2013

Musharraf Singled Out

images-2

“Shaukat Aziz to be brought to Pakistan through Interpol”, read a news report.  How come anyone even remotely connected with the Bugti death is to be tried – General Pervez Musharraf as President, Shaukat Aziz as PM, Owais Ghani as Governor Baluchistan, Aftab Sherpao as Interior Minister etc. but in the case of November 3rd, abrogation of the constitution a much more serious offence only Musharraf is being singled out for trial and a horde of other army and civil persons equally involved in the crime are not to be touched?  It was quite comical to hear Hamid Khan advocate say the other day on a TV show that let’s try Musharraf for high treason under November 3rdcase as it is simpler than the October 12th, 1999 case (in which case apart from many other generals the higher judiciary was also involved)!  Does it not tantamount to saying, “Hang Musharraf” whatever be the manner ?!!
