In this episode of the Truth Serum: The latest punishments meted out to Pakistani cricketers in England are merely growing symptoms of a cancerous moral decay in Pakistan. Starting at the very top of the government echelons government officials are corrupt and alarmingly the moral degradation seems to be seeping through to all facets of society. Zardari cronies are placed as fountainheads to permeate Government and semi government institutions the National airline is bankrupt, the Railway system is all but shut, the utilities including power and gas supply are dysfunctional. Sadly blatant cheating, corruption and nepotism reigns in the field of education as well. A recent example of this tragedy is the awarding of a Ph.D. of Peace degree by the Karachi University to the inept Interior minister Rehman Malik. Cricket corruption scandals date back to the 90s and beyond but mere slap on the wrist type punishments combined with the forgiving hero worshiping attitude of the masses emboldened current day sports figures to introduce more corrupt practices into the game resulting in the sting operation and ensuing current criminal hearings of Pakistani cricketers.
