The start of military operation ZarbEAzb, June 2014 against the terrorists in North Waziristan took Pakistan into the last round against the terrorism. The Pakistan Army is steadily clearing all the areas where terrorists have established major footholds. It has been months; since operation has started Pakistan Army has achieved massive success, by destroying many weapon factories killing more than 1000 terrorists and destroying many weapon factories. Zarb-e-Azb is progressing successfully, and it has been expected that operation will end up in rooting up terrorism from Pakistan.
But.. But the question is that How eliminating TTP, or killing all the terrorists would eliminate terrorism from Pakistan? The answer might be No. because crushing Taliban’s is not the only solution. The need of hour is to eliminate the mindset that has been working behind TTP, it’s not just about Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, it’s about “what” is behind Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, which theory or which perspective has driven Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan to such violence that they started using religion for their activities. It’s not about TTP, it’s about extremism, in our society. Now, the question is who is promoting that extremism? What comes to your mind? Mullah! Yes. Mullah and their Madrissa’s are the extremist factories in Pakistan. Clearly, Mullahs have hijacked our religion. They have made a wretched rendition of Islam that fits neither in the past nor in the present. They modified religion for their own purposes. Mullahs assumed control, politicized and adulterated religion, and brought it to this peculiar stage that it is in now. The presence of a Mullah relies on upon weak debates like how covered/veiled a lady ought to be, how long Muslims must have beard, ladies should not drive, girls should not be educated and others of same sort. These Mullahs sold out their God and headed his followers off track.
TTP is a Tehreek, pounding Tehreek won’t have any effect, unless what that is behind TTP is smashed. Terrorism will be disposed of, if that school of thought is dispensed with that is raising those brains. Unlawful groups, Madrissa’s, jamats, still get awards underneath money related help. To kill the bases of terrorism, these groups ought to be banned from promoting feeling of violence and roughness against state. There ought to be some check about these Deeni Madrissa’s, and they ought to be observed in order to recognize their fund and to verify that they’re not promoting terrorism.
So for making Pakistan a terror free country, we must take a step to eradicate the actual cause of terrorism and that means to check around, in our surroundings, about the extremist Mullah’s and madrissa’s. Zarb-e-Azb is a fight, and we have to stand with our military.

Pakistan Army is one of the non-political but yet most important state institution. Army has been working not only for the defence and security of the country, but is fighting at many other outskirts including flood, and Zarb-e-Azab in North Waziristan. Since Army has started Military operation in north Waziristan, 900 of the terrorists has been killed, many of the weapon factories have been destroyed. The operation was launched by military forces on 15 June, and now since three months army is engaged there. Along with Zarb-e-Azab, Pakistan Army is also under attack, as India violates cease fire at Line of Control, frequently, resulting in to Shahadat of our soldiers. Now as massive rains resulted into flood in many areas of Pakistan, and civilian government was failed to carry on relief activities, again Army was called to rescue people. Pakistani Army’s rescue and flood relief activities are continued all over the Pakistan, and one soldier also lost his life during a rescue operation. In all this scenario, when Army is busy at many borders, and they have many other things to look after there are few lobbies, including some of the Parliamentarians, and some of the social media activists, who have started baseless propaganda’s against Army.
As many of the parliamentarians, “elected” members of the honorable Assembly, blame Army in current political situation, that Army is the script writer of the public protests going on in Islamabad. Although, ISPR and Army officials have denied these allegations several times, and Army was not interfering, but COAS General Raheel Shareef was requested by Prime Minister Pakistan that Army should play their constitutional role resolving the current political crisis. COAS talked with the protesting parties, to help resolve the dead lock between the government and protestors. Later on, there were also baseless news of five top military generals who were just to step in, in current political situation to over throw civilian government. The news about Army’s intervention and linking it with ISPR’s statement to protect democracy and rumors that Army’s top level command want Prime Minister to resign are totally baseless.
Army has many other important issues, dragging a national institution, in such a mess is nothing but a cheap tactic to damage their reputation, but that will be useless. As this nation know, that Army has sacrificed lives of their men, their soldiers for this country. Army is one the respected and most fair institution of the state. Please, let them do their work, they have other important things like Zarb-e-Azab, Flood relief and defending the borders. Dragging them in politics is unacceptable. Everyone should must know that Pakistan Army is totally neutral, and Military is not behind current political crisis.
Long live Pakistan.
Long Live Pakistan Army.

Pakistan, and had named the planned offensive in North Waziristan as operation, “Tight Screw.” It was owing to the rumours spread by external media, and also unfortunately by our internal political parties and media that reports of military operation in North Waziristan caused a lot of panic among the majority of locals who had begun fleeing the area. Taking cognizance of the baseless media reports, on August 17, 2012, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani categorically dispelled the speculative reporting in foreign media regarding joint operation in North Waziristan. He reiterated, “We might, if necessary, undertake operation in NWA, in the timeframe of our choosing and requirements” as “determined only by our political and military requirements. It will never be a result of any outside pressure.” Earlier, while stressing upon national unity, Gen. Kayani especially stated on June 9, 2011, “Any effort to create division among important institutions of the country is not in national interest…the people of Pakistan whose support the army has always considered vital for its operations against terrorists.” While dispelling the misperception about the military operation in North Waziristan, DG, ISPR Major-Gen. Asim clarified on June 27, this year, “It is solely a Pakistan Army operation and not a joint Pak-US military offensive”, adding that “Pakistani security forces are capable of doing such an operation.” However, it is our misfortune that certain political parties and religious groups in pursuance of their political interests appear to have lost sight of collective wisdom which is essential for obtaining national goals by fighting and eliminating the scourge of terrorism. Now, a broad-based operation has been launched to smash terrorists’ hideouts in North Waziristan areas and flush out all militants from Pakistani soil. This envisages provision of consummating public support, backing by political parties, media and civil society. The government has to maintain its resolve to eliminate terrorism, using assorted counter-terrorism strategy, whereas politicians must maintain order by postponing rallies, train marches, relegating politics of protest and deferring party programmes to hold political meetings. In this respect, violent brawls between Punjab Police and members of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Lahore, on June 17, which led to live firing and killing of innocent people including women is absolutely deplorable and inappropriate. But, in wake of the present operation against the militants, there is a need to remain peaceful, and render all available assistance to the government so as to thwart all game plan of terrorists rather than opening new conflicting façade from within. Nevertheless, collective wisdom requires that the nation must remain united as the military operation continues against terrorists in North Waziristan Agency. For this purpose, local dissent and protests must be postponed to show solidarity with the rulers as well as the armed forces. No doubt, media, political parties, religious scholars and civil society deserve appreciation for showing cohesive harmony during testing times of the military operation. In this context, the concerned authorities must prepare comprehensive plan to engage with media for its further favourable support to the operation. Initial success of unity among different segments of society must be capitalized by offering detailed briefings to media about progress of the operation and other related issues. Particularly, IDPs which are already being helped by the federal and provincial governments including political and religious parties, and other renowned persons like Malik Riaz of Bahria Town must further be accommodated—and those trapped in war zone be rescued by bringing them to safe areas. Government must reach out to public of North Waziristan areas with a sense of deep compassion and sympathy. At this critical juncture, political parties and religious leaders must postpone their schedules of train marches, protest rallies, political meetings, and show-off congregations till the objectives of military operation are achieved. In this regard, postponement of train march by Sheikh Rasheed is appreciating. Besides, violent police action against members of PAT, which resulted into killing of innocent people including women, must be thoroughly investigated, and responsibility must be fixed against all tiers of command and levels of the administration. As the TTP-led terrorists had accelerated their anti-social, undemocratic and un-Islamic practices, therefore, people from all segments of life wanted that a handful of terrorist elements must not be allowed to dictate their agenda and to impose their self-perceived ideology on the majority of Pakistanis. So, the right hour has come that Pakistan’s media, politicians and leaders of religious parties must show solidarity with the armed forces by also rejecting the propaganda of these zealots against the security forces in relation to the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan. Nonetheless, nation must be united in the face of threat posed by terrorism. The success of the military operation and defeat of the terrorists will become assured, if the ruling and the opposition parties including all the segments of society display practical unity not only with one another, but also with the armed forces, which is also necessary to maintain order at this sensitive moment.
