I am guilty of sending an email earlier this year against him over a sectarian issue. It was based on disappointment over some of his Facebook posts. However, we cannot fail to acknowledge that his is the voice since many years now that has been waking us up as Pakistani Muslims apart from some others.
Zaid Sahib’s opinion is that Maulana Tariq Jamil should also condemn TTP in strong words apart from his general preaching efforts. And he says that TTP and ISIS are “Khawarij” as given in Ahadith. Hence, a senior preacher like Maulana TJ who is considered as a major opinion-maker in the world of Islam in Pakistan, should specifically condemn TTP by labelling them as “Khawarij”.
