The dismal performance of the Pakistani squad in the ongoing T20 world cup tournament in India has created a furore the like of which was never seen before. The entire nation and the media have gone bonkers and are discussing the issue day and night on all TV channels as if there was nothing else better to do. All sorts of analyses, critiques and questions are being poured in by the so called experts of all hues and colours, ranks and standings some suggesting sacking of the captain and the coach, some cutting of the dead wood in the form of senior players and yet others guillotining the PCB bigwigs. If you ask me, why not do away with the cricket itself in Pakistan? After all what is there so imperative about it that we can’t do without it? Does it not cost us as a nation millions and millions of man hour watching the idiot box which could be utilized productively elsewhere? How does it contribute in any way in improving the health – mental or! physical – of the nation or for that matter even of the players? It is complete waste of time and money except for the PCB and the good for nothing players who mint millions from the game and the commercials. It is no longer a sport but a commercial bonanza involving betting, match fixing and corruption. And imagine our children idolizing such characters devoid of any intellect, etiquette or good manners to the degree that most of them cannot even utter a single sensible grammatically correct sentence, which they are seen trying pathetically clearly betrayed by their body language. After all how many nations of the world play cricket – one can count them on the fingers of one’s two hands? Aren’t the rest of the scores of the countries – some highly advanced like Germany, Japan China, Russia, most of Europe surviving without it that we would not? So, please let’s do away with it. Our children will not have only more time! for their studies but also have the option to have men like I! qbal, DRs. Salam and Qadeer, Majors Raja Aziz Bhatti and Shabbir Sharif et al as their idols. Our offices will work better and with much more concentration. We will save on the electricity too which is already short. A developing nation like ours cannot afford the luxury of wasting time and resources on cricket. Let’s concentrate on other healthier sports instead.

ISLAMABAD: Famous fashion designer and singer-turned Islamic scholar Junaid Jamshed survives an attack on Islamabad airport in early hours of Sunday, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Junaid Jamshed was attacked by some religious fanatics who had reportedly off boarded from a flight from Karachi.
The group of religious extremists took Juniad Jamshed on to their kicks and punches, and kept beating him.
Irony was that when no policeman on duty came for his rescue and people around kept making video of this brutal act.
Junaid Jamshed had been under criticism for sexist remarks and arguably a blasphemy comment about Ammul Mo’mineen Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (R.A).

Jinhain Tu Ne Bakhsha Hai Zuaq-e-Khudai
These warriors, victorious, These worshippers of Yours,
Whom You have granted the will to win power in Your name.

Mustafa Kamal, the ex-Nazim of Karachi, has staged a come back on March 3, 2016, to Karachi, after a sojourn of three and a half years. His return to the political scene at this juncture has created quite a stir in social and political circles of Karachi in particular and of Pakistan in general. Actually it would have been better if he returned before the local bodies elections recently held in Sindh province.
Mustafa Kamal is well-known for his honesty, sincerity, devotion and capability to deliver. Whatever good work and development we see in Karachi is the result of his planning and hard work.
According to the up-coming news its heartening to know that he has returned to his native place with a great will to re-start his work from where he had left, hopefully with better planning and devotion. It goes without saying that MQM, with its deeds, has earned only a bad name for itself as well as for the country. To put it in a nut-shell, it was a dire need of the time to launch an organization to fight peacefully for genuine rights of the Urdu speaking Muhajirs. But what they have given is a tarnished image of Muhajirs, causing great humiliation and shame to them and in fact to the whole country.
Perhaps our own misdeeds invited scourge from God. The period of scourge now seems to be over and its time for remorse and re-examination of our conduct followed by reform and reconstruction. An opportunity has presented itself which demands making an assessment of the situation and responding accordingly.
I make an earnest appeal to all who stand for justice and fairplay to join hands and extend their full support to Mustafa Kamal and his associates, in any way they can, to make this mission a real success. Let everyone of us, irrespective of his/her faith, ethinicity and provincial affinity, give full moral support and co-operation to this move.
Let the new party, to be announced shortly in future, not be against MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) or its chief and let it not aim to break it up. It may continue to function and have its own way. If the new party has good and sincere workers, the people will surely support it. It is important, however, that only sincere and patriotic persons are welcome to join the party, and those found otherwise in future, should be expelled.
Let this forthcoming organization be a platform for all of us to work together to revive peace, prosperity and welfare in Sindh province and to the whole country. Let us (with the help of God Almighty) bring back the identity of Karachi as a city of lights and a portal for employment and opportunity for the people coming from all parts of the country. If we are sincere in our objective and efforts God Almighty will be with us and we will get divine help to achieve our goal.

US Presidential Elections
Like it or not but there is no escape from the fact that currently the USA is the only super power and its president does impact the internal affairs of almost all countries of the world. As such the election of its president cannot be left to a few Americans only and the other nations of the world must also have a say in electing the most powerful man on this planet. A system could, therefore, be devised under the aegis of the UNO for this purpose. The sooner the better for all.
